Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Alright then," she said as she began shoving a few books into her already bulging bag. "I'll see you around. Hopefully with more interesting news," she added with a grin. With that, she scooped up her remaining books and parchment and scurried out of the library.

Cho watched Marietta go, before she went back to her reading. She sighed. She wasn't going to learn anythign else tonight, but it was worth a try. She looked back to the page, and then slammed her book shut. She looked at the cover before she stuffed it in her bag and walked out. She decided to roam the castle to relax before heading back to the common room.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Draco is in here studying like a good person. Or an evil person. Whatever.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Jack is here because he's a Ravenclaw. And looking for Remus. He doesn't spot his gorgeous golden-haired man, but he does spy an empty seat -one of the few left, it seems- across from a platinum blond that Jack certainly won't mind looking at whilst he's studying. He slips into the vacant seat and grins across the table, because it's only polite to say hello. "Well, hello," he says, because there is only one tone of voice in which he is capable of saying 'hello'.

Pansy is already growling at Jack.
My goodness. *shoves her in the closet*

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Draco noticed someone sit in front of me him and looked up when he said hello in a special tone. He raised an eyebrow and nodded at the newcomer, noting his ravenclaw tie. "Hello." He looked back down at his book, not particularly wanting to talk but not really caring about a Ravenclaw being there.
PANSY NEEDS TO BUTT OUT.
IF DRACO GETS NO SAY
THEN NEITHER DOES SHE.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Inner!Jack is winking and Pansy and telling her to come play too if it will make her feel better. *facepalm*
Jack grins easily, because a 'hello' is all the opening he needs, even though he gets the impression that this guy is not one for him to flirt with. Oh well, good thing he has Remus to go flirt with and snog. He extends a hand over the table, offering it for a handshake. "Captain Jack Harkness," he introduces. "Pleasure to meet you," he says, with almost no flirting at all in his tone.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Almost no flirting? Well that's a comfort for my poor little homophobe here. Draco reached out and took his hand, "Draco Malfoy. I've not heard your name before, are you new?"
Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Malfoy? Lucius Malfoy's son? My father's done business with yours a few times, I think. We mostly keep to ourselves though," Jack says, releasing Draco's hand after a firm handshake and flipping through the pages of his book.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Draco nodded at him, "I don't recall a Harkness name, was it very recently?" Draco looked back down to his book. "So are you new?"
Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Not too recently," Jack says with an easy grin. He's used to this by now, purebloods sniffing out his pedigree, and isn't too worried. "Never cared much for the parties and events so I never went after the first I was taken to - girls in robes aren't my cup of tea; too much fabric, too little skin," he shrugs. "I'm not new, mostly just keep out of things, make my own trouble," he explains, because at the end of the day he'd rather make love not war, and believes that all people are equal if only for the fact that to be prejudiced would severely limit his options.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Draco nodded, glad that someone else had noticed the dearth of skin from anyone aside from Astoria. "Keep out of things? I know what you mean by that, I get dragged into other people's business too often to enjoy the masses." He looked back down at his book.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Exactly. Other people's business gets messy, especially these days," Jack notes wryly. Jack's not really into subjugation unless there's whips and handcuffs involved, really. Mya is still waking up, so Jack is kinda quiet right now until he warms up again. "Sometimes I guess you have to stop and think 'is this really working out for me?'" he shrugs, turning his eyes down to his own reading material.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Draco nodded even though Jack wasn't looking at him. "Perspective is a good thing even if sometimes it's unobtainable. So what sort of business is your family in?" He flicked the page on his book.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Magical artifacts. Most of it's fairly run-of-the-mill, but on occasion we get a rare or highly valuable piece coming our way," Jack explains. "My father refuses to deal in outright Dark stuff, but some of the things we've had our hands on have been pretty interesting," he smirks.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
"And my family loves interesting artifacts. Are you planing on joining the family business after school?" Draco looked at Jack as he spoke, intrigued by this Ravenclaw.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Jack chuckles, because he has indeed heard that the Malfoy family loves a good interesting artifact or ten. "We'll see. It may happen, but I'd rather go be a Cursebreaker for Gringotts. You know, the kind of work that's interesting and dangerous, and sexy enough that when you walk into a bar and tell someone that's what you do, you're guaranteed to make friends. How about you?" he asks, wondering if Draco would have a different life plan from the hundred other Purebloods to cross Jack's path.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Draco understood what Jack was saying but wasn't convinced that was a valid career path. "Family business, I'm the only heir and it's up to me to keep it going once it's handed down to me. I have to say it's fascinating, all the investments and transactions and the companies that my family owns." He was more musing out loud than talking to Jack and turned back to his book, flipping another page.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Salacia walked in with a couple of books, she sat at the table nearby to write, not noticing the other occupants of the table. She said,"I'm.....sorry....I....sat here, dint notice you, Ill go and sit someother place"

Jack tosses a quick wink at the girl who interrupts them as if to say 'no harm done', then turns back to Draco with a nod. "Well, long as it keeps you interested," he says with a little smirk. Then he checks his watch. "Speaking of interesting things, I've got a hot date with a cute blonde, so I'd better run. Good to meet you, Draco." With a grin, Jack gathers his belonging and stands. One last wink at the cute girl who'd been sharing their table later, he turns and saunters out of the Library, greatcoat billowing behind him.

Draco looked up as Jack got up, "Good to meet you." He glanced over at the girl at their table and nodded at her before turning back to his book. He'd study a little while longer before heading off to find Pansy.

I took a photo. It's also more than 3000 ahead of yours. That only took me three months to take back the lead and get that far ahead. That scares me a little.
