He chuckled, "Me too and I totally understand. Knowing will just make it all so much more real I think." He pulled the book back over and read the instructions, "This isn't too complicated. I'll talk to Slughorn about getting some of these ingredients from the stockroom."

"Yeah, you'll be able to kind of expect what is supposed to happen. You know? Because you will know what you are supposed to turn into and everything." She said nodding. "Yeah! We can make it soon together and test it out." She said grinning.

"Definitely." He turned back to the book again and kept reading, copying down important information that he saw or things that he though needed further research.

Melanie read a bit more from her book, taking notes on topics she thought to be important for their project and then looked over at the clock I am assuming on on a wall in the library. She set the book down. "I should head back to the common room soon." She said with a sigh. "Do you mind if I take some of the books with me? So I can read a bit more on this..."

Ted looked up at the clock as she spoke, "I should be getting back too. Sure we can each take a few then meet up some time next week? I'll talk to Sluggy in class about the potion and then do you want me to owl you?" WHY DOES HOGWARTS NOT HAVE TEXTING?!?!

"Umm. Yeah." She said nodding. "That will work." She said with a grin and picked up a few books. "Bye Teddy." She said and went and checked them out and then walked out of the library.

Ted smiled at her, "Bye Mel, see you soon." Soon after she left he got up and checked out the books, putting them all in his bag he ambled off to wherever.

Marietta wandered into the library with an armload of books and her bag slung over her shoulder. She'd been stuck in the hospital wing with spattergroit and unable to get much work done so she had a good bit of catching up to do. She plopped her stack of books onto a table and settled in to start on her essay on Wolfsbane potion.

Cho walked into the library with her usual full bag. She had already done her essay on the Wolfsbane potion, but she had several other assignments to do. She was about to sit down at a spare desk when she saw Marietta at a free table. She walked over, definitely more cheerful now that she saw her friend. "Hey, Marietta." She said as she placed her bag down on a chair. "Mind if I sit here?" She asked.

"Actually that spot's being used," she replied sarcastically, though her face cracked into a grin. "I'm joking of course. You can sit by me anytime. Library's quiet. Well, much quieter than usual," she observed. "What've you been up to?" she asked. "Catch any good gossip while I've been out?"

"Actually that spot's being used," she replied sarcastically, though her face cracked into a grin. "I'm joking of course. You can sit by me anytime. Library's quiet. Well, much quieter than usual," she observed. "What've you been up to?" she asked. "Catch any good gossip while I've been out?"

Cho grinned widely when she said that the chair was being used. Marietta's voice was heavy with sarcasm until she told her that she could sit down. Cho pulled a chair back and sat down. "You're right." She said, commenting on Marietta's observation. "I wonder where everyone is." Cho looked at Marietta blankly. What had she been up to? "Uh... mainly studying really. I've been really busy with all my course work and stuff." She said. "As for gossip, not really. What about you? You were in the hospital wing for a while right? What was that about?"

"Yeah. I somehow caught a bout of spattergroit. I don't know how I got it, but it put me out for a good while. I'm so behind on my school work," she said, flipping through the pages of Advanced Potion Making. "Do you happen to remember who the inventor of the Wolfsbane potion was?" she asked.

Cho looked at Marietta sympathetically. "I've heard that spattergroit is awful. Well, glad to see that you're better now!" She said cheerfully. When asked if she remembered the creator of the Wolfsbane potion, Cho scrunched up her brow in concentration. She vaguely remembered reading something about it in a book. "Wasn't it Damocles?" She said, unsure. "I may not be right though."

The name rung a bell. "No. That's it. It was on the tip of my brain. I just couldn't quite get a hold of it. Thanks," she said, scribbling down a few sentences on her parchment. She looked back up and swept a lock of hair off her forehead and said, "I'm glad that I'm better too though. It was awful just sitting there not being able to do anything, not even being able to talk! Not that there was anyone to talk to because I wasn't allowed near anyone." She sighed. "I'm glad to be out now even if I do have loads to catch up on."

Cho smiled with the confirmation that she was right. She scribbled down some of what was said on her parchment paper, and looked back up to Cho. Cho had never had the spattergroit. She didn't really know what it was, but she did know that it was really contagious. "I'm sure you haven't missed that much work." She said reassuringly. "I think we've only had one essay, and one test since you've been out..." The essay was in CHarms, and the test in Transfiguration.

"Oh. That's good. I'm so glad I have you," Marietta said with a smile. "I really hope Professor Slughorn [I'm guessing we have Sluggy since Snape's a student.] will accept this essay late," she worried, biting her lip. "I've never had to turn homework in late before."

Cho smiled. "You're welcome." She said. She paused for a moment. "And don't worry about the essay," she said. "I feel like Sluggy is the type of guy who would. He seems easy-going enough. Besides, you were sick." She pointed out. Personally, Cho was glad that she wasn't out of class for a long period of time. She would hate to be behind in all her work. The thought scared her. Cho opened her Potions book. It was her worst subject, but thanks to vast amounts of studying and almost spending all her time in the library, she sort of knew what she was doing.

Marietta continued going through her Potions text, writing down key bits of information- this was turning into more of an outline than an essay, but she could rewrite it later in the common room. "So?" she said, still looking at her book, "Are you sure nothing exciting and tellworthy has happened while I've been out?" she asked, looking up to give her friend an "I know there must be something so spill it" look. "No interesting boys?"

Cho looked at Marietta who seemed pretty sure that there was something that she wasn't telling her. She was right. She wasn't telling her something. Then, Marietta gave her the look. The "I know you're keeping something gossipy from me" look. She pressed further. Co didn't feel like putting up a fight. "There is." She said. "Sort of." She looked from her book to Marietta. "I mean, it's not like he knows I exist, and I've only sort of talked to him, but..." She paused, trying to find the right words. "I've seen him around enough to know that he's a great guy." She stopped. She was getting ahead of herself. She leaned in close to Marietta just in case anyone was around. "It's Rolf." She moved back into her seat, a small spread of red coating her cheeks. Marietta was so far the only person she had told.

Marietta's brows raised. "Rolf? That cutie in our house?" she asked, a smirk on her face. "I bet he's noticed you. I mean, how many other gorgeous Ravenclaws like you are there?" she said confidently. "And if he hasn't, I'm sure he will. Boys always come around," she added though she had no experience of her own, preferring to stick to the real reliable loves of her life: books.

Cho saw Marietta's eyebrows raise, and a smirk appear on her face. Cho's blush deepened. "I doubt it. Isn't he with Viktor Krum now anyways?" She had to admit, she had looked up to Viktor in the past. He was an amazing Quidditch player. She had always wanted to talk to him about it. When she found out that he was with Rolf, however, she didn't really want to talk to him as much anymore. Mainly because she knew she would be too jealous to seem civil. She didn't know what it was about Rolf, but there was something there that just made her... like him. She liked how Marietta was trying to cheer her up though. "What about you? Now that I've told you, you tell me something new." She added, smiling.

Marietta rolled her eyes. "You silly girl. What would I have to tell you? I've spent the past two weeks confined to the Hospital Wing with no human interaction besides a grumpy Madame Pomfrey," she said, shaking her head. "I didn't even know Viktor- or Rolf for that matter- swung that way. I've obviously been out of the loop for much too long. Not to mention behind in homework," she added, continuing to scribble notes out of her textbook.

Cho laughed. Marietta had a point. "I don't know," she said, "maybe you heard something there." She tried to justify her point. "Ah, don't worry about homework... well, okay, do. But I'll help you. It'll help me along too." She said. She opened her Transfiguration textbook to a random chapter and just started reading from there. it was odd that Marietta was one of the only people she felt she could relax around. Maybe it was just because the two of them had known each other and been friends for so long. Cho internally shrugged. it didn't matter. The only thing that did was that she was friends with Mari, and that the two of them were good friends.

Mari smiled over at her friend. It was nice to see her after so long, but she glanced down at her watch and realised it was getting late. She stretched her arms over her head and let out a tiny yawn. "I'm still a bit tired from recovering. I think I'm going to head back up to the common room," she said. "Do you want to come with me? Or do you need to keep studying? You have about-" she checked her watch again- "a quarter hour before Madame Pince shoos you out anyway."

Cho wasn't aware of Mari looking at her watch. She heard the yawn though. She looked up at Marietta checking her watch. "No, it's okay." She said, mentally calculating the time she had to read. "I think I'll just stay here until then." She smiled at her. "Fifteen minutes is plenty you know." She sneaked a look over to Madam Pince's desk. "I think I'll be fine. I normally find some way to escape the clutches of Madam Pince anyways. I'll see you in the common room then?"
