Melanie reached out her hand and shook his hand gently. "You too." She said with a smile. "I use to go to school in the United States and then just recently my parents wanted to transfer my sister and I here because they heard Hogwarts was a lot better than the school we were going to."

"Really? Have you met Carodoc Dearborn? He transfered here from the states this year too. Where in the US are you from?" He looked at the book in her lap, curious what she was studying.

"No.." She said shaking her head. "I don't think I have met him. I've only met a few people. I'm from Massachusetts." She said with a large grin. "I went to The Salem Witches Institute." She said nodding.

"Nice, I've heard of that before. How are you finding Hogwarts? What years are you and your sister in?" And once again Tam has discovered that in every conversation she ever has all she does with any character who isn't Draco is ask question after question. Hmmm.

"I really like it here so far." She says with a smile. "I've met some really nice people." Well, people who she thinks are nice. *cough* Lucius *cough* "We are both sixth years." She says nodding. "My sister is Claire, She's also in Ravenclaw. What year are you?"

"I'm seventh year. Are you finding everything okay? I can help you FIND things because that's what Hufflepuffs do." Yep Yep. Couldn't resist.

"Umm, Yeah. I am finding things easily." She said with a smile though. "Thanks for the offer though. That's actually the second offer I've had for help finding things. People here at Hogwarts are all just so nice!" She said grinning.

"They really are, so how's life in Ravenclaw? What sort of classes are you taking?" Ted likes meeting new people a lot and even though he doesn't know about it he worries about Lucius.

Uhh. >.> Well...I hope he's okay with her date with Lucius. >.> "Ravenclaw is good." She said nodding. "People are always studying in the common room." She said nodding. "I'm taking Potions, Herbology, Muggle Studies, Defense against the Darks Arts, Charms, Transfiguration, and Divination."

Ted wonders what Lucy would say if he knew she was taking Muggle Studies. Hmm. And Ted doesn't get a say over her life like he does over Parv's. Sadly. "Cool, any particular favourite?" Tam has realized Ted is the ultimate big brother. Whoops.

"Well, I really like Transfiguration." She says with a smile. "I just find it really fun. You know? What about you? What are your favorite classes?" Parv thinks Ted is an evil big brother most of the time. But she still loves him.

Ted loves Parv too and is currently watching the Apple Trees VERY carefully. "Transfiguration too, it's always been my best class by far. What do you think of McGonagall so far?"

Parv says that she is glad you can't see in the Gryffindor Common room regularly. "Really?" She said excitedely as he said his favorite class was also transfiguration. "I think she's brilliant! She is so nice too! And such a great teacher!"

"She's an incredible teacher. Has she told you yet that she's an animagus? I really want to learn, that was why I came in here today, to find a few books on it." Ted is going to be a studious person. Hopefully the more of them that I stick in my head the better it work.

"Really?! She is?!" She said with wide eyes. "I didn't know that!" She said and grinned. "That's so cool. What do you want to be able to transform into?" She asked.

"Yeah her form is a cat." He looked the wall and shifted to sit more comfortably in the chair, "I'm not entirely sure yet. I honestly don't know if you even get to pick or if it's something that you just find out about once you start the process. Is it something you're interested in too?" OMG THEY COULD DO IT AS A TEAM PROJECT FOR EXTRA CREDITTTT

"Exactly, and getting to see what it really is like to be an animal of any kind really." He got up and moved back to the shelf, "Do you want to work with me on this? McGonagall said it would be better to have a partner to work with for when she's not available." He started pulling books off shelves to work with.

"Yeah! Sure!" She said and practically jumped out of her chair and stepped over to the shelf and began to look at the book titles. Grabbing a couple and tossing them onto the table behind her. "Yeah, I think it would be easier to work with a partner."

He pulled out a few more and took them over to the table. Looking at what she'd grabbed he grinned, "Okay this looks like a good start." He pulled out two journals and quills and turned to her, "I like taking notes on projects in a journal better, do you want to use one too?"

"Umm, Yeah! Sure!" She said nodding. "Just any form of paper works for me to be honest." She said with a grin and looked at the books he got.

Ted laughed, "I think I've never really adjusted to parchment, I'm muggleborn you see, and I've always preferred having everything in one place." He put the quills and ink on the table then pulled out a biro for himself. Picking out his first book, A Guide to Animal Transfiguration, he started scrolling the index.

"Oh, well that's understandable. Habits that your grow up with are pretty hard to break." She said nodding. She grabbed a book all about just partial human transfiguration. You know like how Viktor Krum transformed just his head into a shark for the 2nd task. She opened it and started to look through it, she figured it would be easier to just start with something small and work your way up.

He flicked through the book to the theory of animagus transfiguration and started taking notes. As he got further into it he looked up at her, "I found something here, it says that the forms are a reflection of personality and lifestyle and that there's a potion you can brew to find out what it'll be." He showed her the page with the recipe.

Melanie leaned over and looked at the page. "Interesting. We should test that out." She said, looking up at him and nodding. "I'm kind of eager to know what I will transform into. You know? The suspense is just killing me and we have barely started on this project." She said with a light laugh.
