Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Interesting. Sounds a little guilty to me." She picked up another letter in the woman's handwriting. There were certainly more from her than there were from him. "Look here, she says something about her father telling her to not being ashamed of her poverty, for their bloodline and fame should surely redeem them. Purebloods in poverty? That can't be very common, unless you're a Weasley." She laughed a little, trying to think of which, if any, old pureblood families weren't in the greatest economic standing. "Poor purebloods, a daughter falling in love with a Muggle, and probably someone from our grandparents generation or older, since there wasn't anything like this with our parents generation." Pansy flipped through a few more letters, contemplating. Finally, she sat the letters aside and picked up the charm, dusting off it's surface carefully with her fingers as she thought it all over
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Theo jumped. "I had totally forgotten about the Weasleys! They're so...mudblood-ish that you almost think they are." He looked at the papers pityingly. "Maybe she did it to bring money to her family's name? Like a little whore or something. Whored herself out, like a little blood traitor." Joel is surprised by Theo, but oh well. Theo investigated the box in closer detail, looking for a way to fix it.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Very true. The worst blood-traitor family there is, really." She laughed at Theo's suggestions of M whoring herself out to get money for her family, which apparently was broke. As she brushed away a bit more of the dust, she noticed there was a bit of engraving on the underside of the snake's curling belly. "What do you suppose..." She wiped it clean as much as she could, trying to read what it said. "Hissy hissy little snakey, slither..." she wiped at it a little more, "on the floor. You be... you be..." she scrubbed at it a little with her sleeve, trying to get rid of the years of ick that had built up on its surface. "You be good to Morfin or he'll nail you to the door. Morfin? Wonder who that is? Though, if Morfin is a pureblood, we could always look him up? Come on!" Pansy stood up, picking up the letters they'd opened and stacking them up, putting them back into the box as well as she could and making sure they didn't leave anything behind. She shoved the little compartment in the shelf closed and put some of the books back into place before sneaking quietly out of the restricted section, having another idea to try and figure out who M and T were.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Theo nodded and stood up. "Okay! Very interesting name, Morfin. And interesting inscription...Hissy hissy little snakey? What kind of lover's line is that?" He ran after Pans to i have no idea where.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
And then they ran off to another part of the library, where massively heavy volumes of wizard censuses or something like those were kept. "When do you suppose this might have been? Let's see... when was my grandmother born?" Pansy glanced along the shelves, finally pulling out one of the books and sitting down in the floor to open it in her lap. The pages were exceptionally thin, allowing as many pages in as little space as possible. She flipped through, searching and searching. "Here he is. Morfin Gaunt. Son of Marvolo, brother of Merope. Wait, those names are really familiar. Don't you think you've heard them before?" Pansy looked up at Theo, and then it dawned on her. "It couldn't be..."
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Theo looked at her blankly. "The Gaunts sound super familiar, but jog my memory? I think i've heard my father and Lucius Malfoy talking about them, before."

Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Well... dearest Gaunt daughter Merope fell in love with a Muggle named Tom. She had his baby, and today we call that child," she whispered to him, shutting the book on her lap as she did to mask the whisper to anyone who might be listening besides Theo, "Lord Voldemort."
Re: The Library: A Study Table
"What?" he squeaked. "The Dark Lord's mother? We found the...we found the love letters. Oh wow! This is amazing!" his mind was whirring. "I wonder if we could like, use them to gain lots of money or something? Blackmail? Favour?"

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Pansy smiled at the thought. "Yeah. We've found the love letters of Voldemort's parents. Isn't that crazy? You know, I bet we could. I'm sure people would do almost anything for these letters. I'll bet no one even knows that these exist. She probably hid them from her family so they wouldn't know."
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Theo grinned evilly. "Who do you think would pay more? I wonder what the Dark Lord would give, to have these...well. He's the Dark Lord, he'd probably kill us and then burn them..."

Re: The Library: A Study Table
"As tempting as it is, I think you're right. We'd be dead before we could finish a proposition. But his followers are a different story. And of course there are people like Rita Skeeter out there, but personally I'd rather not deal with someone like that." Pansy was trying to think of the best thing to do with these letters. Such secret brilliance as these can't just be ignored.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Theo grimaced. "Ick, i loathe that woman. The only thing she was good for was whens he made Potter look bad during the Tournament. I bet Draco's un-named timewarped omg who should i put here except him? father would pay a lot for this, but i hear he might be out of the Dark Lord's favour."

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Talking about Draco was a sensitive thing for her when the Dark Lord or Draco's father was concerned, but she nodded anyway. "True, he probably would be quite interested in them. But there's already quite a bit of turmoil going on as far as his father's relation with the Dark Lord is concerned. I'm not sure he'd be willing to risk it, no matter how great the temptation for these letters. The Lestranges though... that might be an option." AlternateversionBellatrix would definitely love to have love letters of Voldy's parents, considering how greatly in love with him she is. And her husband of course would be interested in them as well for the origins of the man he served.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Theo nodded eagerly. "That's a good idea, and if any problems arise Bellatrix will just Crucio the shit out of it!" He chuckled. "She's a true Slytherin to look up to."

Re: The Library: A Study Table
"She is indeed. Hmm, well what do you say we take them and keep them hidden a while until we can figure out a good solid plan to use them for. Besides, there are a lot of letters, we could split them up and use them for several little schemes." Pansy shoved the heavy book of wizard population records back on its shelf and stood up, glancing at the box he was still holding.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Good idea. You should keep the charm, it'd look pretty on you." He took the letters and stacked them into the box, closing the lid and locking it with a more simple locking charm than the one that was on it before. "Do you want to keep the box, or shall I?"

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Pansy smiled, looking at the little silvery snake in her hand. "I think I might. I've probably got a small chain to put it on back in my room, actually." She wrapped her fingers around the tiny charm, glancing up at Theo. "Either of us I suppose. You might want to hang onto it. Astoria doesn't know what personal space is." Pansy rolled her eyes. "So anything in my room that's pretty and unguarded, she thinks is free game to play with."
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Theo looked sympathetically disgusted. "Poor thing, stuck with her. I taught people to stay out of my things second year, when Crabbe tried to smash my pastels. The poor bastard will never touch anything of mine again...the others know not too as well." Theo's eyes flashed in fury. "He wasn't able to sit down comfortably for a week. Buahaha."

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Pansy beamed at him. "Theo, you're brilliant. Absolutely evilly brilliant. Alright, you'll take the box and we'll both try and think of something grand to do with the letters then? Sounds like a good plan to me. I'll have to get my plotting thoughts going."
Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Ah, Pansy, how i wish we could drink in here. I'd give a toast to ourselves, and our keeping to the Slytherin ways." he chuckled as he packed the box carefully into his book bag. "Well, i'm going to go hide this with my things so i'll see you later, Pansy-queen." And then he walked out the door to disappear from everywhere like he always does, when Joel's not RPing with him.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
"We do deserve a toast. Soon enough, I'm sure we'll have done something quite worthy of a drink and we'll find a way to have one. But for now, I'll talk to you later, Theo!" She waved goodbye to him, going back through the shelves to grab the books she'd come to find, and then she too left to go study somewhere like always.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Ted walks in and sees a nice girl sitting in the library. Someone he didn't recognize. WHY WERE THEIR ALL THESE NEW KIDS?!?!?!?! He walked over to a shelf next to her and started looking at books, "Hi, I'm sorry but I don't think I've seen you around before. Are you new?"

Melanie turned toward him as he started talking to her. She smiled at him. "Yeah, I just transferred here a few weeks ago." She said with a smile. "My names Melanie. I'm a Ravenclaw." She said, and then stopped talking when she realized he never really asked her what her name was or what house she was in.

He smiled and held out a hand to her, "Ted from Hufflepuff. Nice to meet you," he sat down at the chair next to her, "So where did you transfer from? We seem to have a lot of new transfers this year."
