"I have, like, three in my dorm that I don't even know who to give to. You can have one, if you want, for your mum," Molly offers, moving over to take a look in the bowl. "Perfect! And now is, like, the fun part!" She reaches into the bowl, scoops up a little of the dough, and uses her hands to shape it into a little ball. Then she drops it onto one of the prepared trays and flattens it a little with the back of a spoon. "See," she says, waving a hand at it as if to say 'it's that easy'.

Arthur smiles excitedly at Molly. "Really? You would give me one? Thank you so much." He gives Molly a hug; she's warm annd smells pretty. After realizing what he had done, he lets go of her suddenly and siddles over to the counter. He nervously grabs a bit of cookie dough and starts to play with it. "Sorry about that," he mutters quietly, fumbling with the cookie dough. "I can be...excitable at times. I can go hide now if you want." He blushes, looking down at the floor. It was blue with green flowers.

Molly hugs Arthur back because that is the automatic response most people have to a surprise hugging, and is a little confused when Arthur pulls away and turns bashful. Her face screws up with her confusion and she tilts her head to the side. "What? It was just a hug. I, like, hug people all the time, no big deal," she says brightly. Her hands reach into the cookie dough again. "Come on, these cookies aren't going to make themselves!"

"Sorry. I'm always been a bit awkward, it's not you, I promise." In reality, Arthur is a huggy person; while he is extremely awkward in general, he isn't when it comes to hugging people. It's only around Molly, in fact. He grabs another handful of dough and moulds it into a lumpy ball and places it on the tray. "These look amazing!" Arthur says excitedly, trying to forget his latest blunder. "The M in Ms are such pretty colors; do they change at all after they are baked?"

"No worries," Molly says brightly. "Maybe I'll just, like, randomly hug you a whole bunch until you're used to it or something." She smiles at the lumpy ball of dough Arthur puts onto the tray, but her Kitchen Commander-ness kicks in, and she has to fix it so that it's perfectly shaped. "I do that," she says by way of apology. "Mmhmm. They sort of melt, so that the shell breaks and makes little coloured flecks and then you see the chocolate, too."

Arthur grabs another handful of dough, making into a slightly smoother lump than the previous one. "It's fine. I don't mind. And that must look amazing; Muggles come up with such brilliant food items. If I'm bored during the summer, I'll go to the local Muggle grocery store and wander around for hours, looking at all the magazines and making conversation with the different people there. They're all very nice and extremely patient with me, especially when I ask questions about their currency." Arthur has made several little balls, each slightly smoother than previous one as he begins to master the action.

"There isn't a mental institution near your place, is there? Maybe they, like, think you're on a day trip from there or something," Molly teases, giggling a little as she imagines Arthur wandering around a supermarket, wide-eyed and into everything like an unsupervised toddler. As he has been working, so has she, and by now she can barely even tell the difference between his little balls of cookie dough and her own. "You'll see when they're done. You're getting, like, pretty good at this. Now try pressing them down with the spoon - gently, though, you just want to sorta flatten the top, not smoosh them into the tray," she instructs, indicating the spoon she'd laid by.

{Actually they do think Arthur is a lost patient from the mental instution...especially when starts talking about how brilliant Lucky Charms are. And then proceeds how to describe how the leprachuan on the box looks like none of the ones he's ever seen and about how the vampires he's met don't eat chcolate. }

Arthur picks up the spoon and presses the top down. However, he underestimates his own strength, smooshing the cookie completely. "Oops, sorry about that," Arthur says, laughing nervously.

[*giggles*]

Molly snickers. "Told ya," she quips, and takes the spoon from Arthur to scrape the splattered cookie off the tray and back into the bowl to have another go. "Like this," she says, grabbing his hand to demonstrate the right amount of pressure. "See - unsplattered cookies!"

"Okay," Arthur says, intensely focusing on Molly's demonstration. If he paid enough attention to the cookie making process, Arthur became less nervous. He smiles brightly as Molly releases his hands and begins the flattening process on the next cookies. He mutters to himself, "Gentle press, happy cookie," as he presses down the cookies.

Molly bites her tongue to keep her hysterical laughter at bay. "That's a different type of Cookie," she mutters to herself, thinking that it's been a while since she made Special Cookies, actually, so she should get right on that. While Arthur is occupied with pressing the cookies, she deftly prepares the remainder of the dough and sets the bowl in the sink. "That's, like, heaps better."

"Thanks," Arthur says, beaming at Molly and feeling quite good about himself. "And what kind of cookie are you talking about?" Arthur asks, surprised that something he did actually had some relevance to cooking. "Are they another Muggle cookie?"

[Molly Prewett]

Molly blinks. "I didn't realise I, like, said that out loud," she admits sheepishly. "Um, if anyone ever offers you anything with the word 'Special' or 'Happy' in front of it, um, just, like, say no?" She takes the finished trays, slips them in the pre-warmed oven, and sets the timer.

"Okay," Arthur replies. "Should I be nervous about these special cookies? Are they kind you give to gits like Malfoy?" Arthur looks curiously at the thing Molly is playing with. "What is that thing you are touching? Is it another Muggle cooking tool?" Arthur is excited about all the new things he's learning - Ted would be impressed by all his Muggle knowledge,

Molly fiddles with the ends of her hair and smiles in what she hopes is a winning way at Arthur. "Um, nevermind about the Special Cookies, ok? Don't even worry about them." She works on making her eyes as big and round and innocent looking as possible. "Oh, this? It's a timer - you set it to however long you need something to bake for, and a buzzer goes off when it's done. Saves you, like, watching the clock the whole time or forgetting and burning stuff."

"Ingenious," Arthur says, picking up the timer. He examines the timer closely, looking at the big knob in the middle surrounded by numbers. "I can't believe how brilliant Muggles can be." The timer distracts Arthur from the idea of special cookies. "I've always loved clocks, magical and Muggle. I probably have at least dozen clocks in my room at home. Some are Muggle - some have big lighted screens that show the exact times, while others have funny cartoon pictures instead of numbers. And then I have a few of grandfather's old clocks, the kind with at least a dozen hands and the entire solar system on them."

"Cool!" Molly says, greaming and fiddling with the ends of her hair again. "Except those big funny clocks with the solar system and all that junk just, like, confuse me. I'm totally never on time anyway. All I'd want is a clock that would tell me important stuff - like, it's time for dinner, or where everyone is, all that sort of thing," she chatters, not sure such a thing even exists but that has never been a hindrance to Molly's imagination.

"The solar clocks are too bad once you learn how to read them; my grandpa tried to teach my brothers and me about them years ago, but I was the only one who really got into it. And I like your ideas for clocks; I've experimented with combining Muggle and magical clock technology before and the results have been interesting. I'd love to play around with your ideas," Arthur says enthusiastically. Clocks, for Arthur, sum up his general goals in life - seeing the similarties between the Muggle and magical world and finding ways to combine the two in the best way to benefit everyone.

"Huh?" Molly pulls a face, completely taken by surprise. Nobody ever actually wants her ideas, really, they just pat her on the head and say 'oh that's nice, Mol' and then promptly forget whatever she's said. It's odd and strangely flattering to have someone not only apparently think she's had a good idea, but want to work on it. She smiles brightly. "Oh, yeah, sure. On one condition - whatever you come up with, I, like, totally want one!"

"I think I can arrange that," Arthur says with a grin. "I honestly don't need anything else in my room, and you'd probably get more use out of it anyway." Arthur can smell the cookies baking and it is delicious. "When are the cookies going to be ready?" he asks, jumping up and down like an impatient child.

[Molly Prewett]

"Neat! When I run out of space for stuff in my room, I just, like, put it in Fabian's. He never minds," Molly says with a grin. Especially when those things are her designer shoe collection. She rolls her eyes slightly at Arthur's impatient child routine and checks the timer. "Just a few minutes, they don't take long," she promises, giggling slightly. "But you know if you try and eat them the second they come out of the oven you're gonna, like, burn your mouth, right?"

"I know. But that never stopped me growing up," Arthur says, laughing at childhood memories of baking cookies with his grandmother while his grandfather was showing him his newest clock. "You can't honestly say that you aren't excited for these cookies."

[Molly Prewett]

Molly smiles to herself, picturing that. It's an adorable picture. "I give most of them away, anyway," Molly says with a shrug. "But it's, like, always nice to see them when they come out. Because they're always totally perfect," she says with a little smirk, pride glowing in her eyes. The timer goes off, and Molly opens the oven door, levitating the trays onto the bench to cool because she can't be bothered looking for an oven mitt. "See how the m&ms turned out," she says, pointing to the way they've melted throughout the dough without touching because she'd rather not burn herself.

"Wow. Personally, I would probably end up eating them all myself. I mean, look at how delicious they are," Arthur says, looking at them excitedly. He leans over the tray and tries to pick it up. He immediately drops the tray, pulling his hand back and blowing on it, for that seemed like a good idea. "Ouch!" Arthur says, jumping up and down. "I'm such an idiot sometimes. At least none of the cookies are ruined."

Molly raises her eyebrows. "Wow. You really weren't kidding when you mentioned you, like, can't help yourself, were you?" Her Mama Bear instincts kick in and she takes a hold of Arthur's hand, turning it over so that she can inspect the fingertips for damage. "Bit red and warm," she murmurs, taking care to inspect each finger carefully. "Here, hold still." She trains her wand on each fingertip and mutters a handy little soothing spell.
