"Eating all those red vines can't be healthy, Dean." Remus shouldn't talk - he eats all that chocolate - but his metabolism is uber great so he doesn't have much to worry about. "I'll see you later." he smiled, "Thanks a lot, Dean, you're amazing." Remus has no idea that the next time he talks to his brother he'll be telling him that he's gay. What fun that'll be.

Remus chuckles slightly, watching his brother skip swag out of the library. Then he gets up and flails walks out of the library to head off to who knows where.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
It had barely been a week since everything had fallen apart just outside the great hall, only three days since the encounter in his dormitory. Encounter was probably a nice word for it, considering how things went. As soon as she'd left Scorp in his new dormitory, and after changing into some of her own clothes, she'd left for the library where she'd taken up residence, collecting mountains of books on dueling and spells and things of the sort. She memorized as much as she could, reading and rereading, searching for more information where it interested her. She studied charms of fire and wind, combining spells for added effect, using the environment to your advantage and watching your opponent for weakness. She learned the subtleties of things, the ins and out of dueling and stance and where and how it would be most advantageous for her to stand to attack. She learned how to watch her opponents, to study them for what they were thinking next, to see what they were going to try.
It was an overload of information, but the more she read, the more she wanted. She had forgotten about searching into stories of the stars, the universe, and had moved on to combat, to dueling and domination. The fine arts of power, intimidation, manipulation, sarcasm. It was liberating, studying something she'd always wanted to, something her mother never let her delve into, something Draco never expected her to know.
She spent her days in empty classrooms, practicing the things she memorized in the library at night by wandlight. She slept little, ate little, but learned and improved constantly. It had only been a few days, but she was already obsessed. Maybe it was the feeling of power it gave her. Maybe it was the independence, the thrill. Maybe it was the fact that it kept her mind off Draco, her mind off her healing shoulder and ribs - which she still had to be careful of while destroying the dueling dummies in the empty classrooms. She was nowhere near perfect, it had barely been a week, but she was on a mission now, and heading to her goal as quickly and precisely as she could manage, and no one would be slowing her down.
People came through the library sometimes, whispering. Probably confused why she was still here, why it appeared she hadn't moved for days, just staring at her books, gathering new ones, the walls of stacked volumes all around her growing higher as the hours passed. She paid them no attention. They didn't matter. She mattered. She would improve herself for herself, and she would become what she wanted to, not what her mother wanted, not what Draco wanted. Pansy was going to do exactly what she wanted now, nothing more, and nothing less.
[Pansy is still in the library, but rp can continue here regardless. Don't mind her. She won't mind you. Just needed to post her progress as it was.]

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Draco was walking amongst the stacks of the library very late one evening. To be honest he was here because he couldn't face going back to the common room. He hadn't gone in there before three any morning this week. By now Blaise and Theo must have known what had happened with Pansy and Scorpius and he didn't want to have to face them. Sneaking between the stacks he turned a corner and then immediately stepped back into the darkness. Pansy. What the hell was she doing there? Peering around the corner he couldn't believe what he was seeing. When had she gotten so thin? She'd always been pale but now she looked ghostly. Stepping back again he turned and walked out of the library. He couldn't stand by and watch her do that but there was no way he was going to go up to her and try to talk.
After a short trip to the kitchens a house elf popped into the library with a plate of Pansy's favourite PB&J sandwiches with the crusts taken off and some fruit. There was a pitcher of pumpkin juice with a glass next to it. Bowing the house elf put the tray next to her mountain of books and popped away.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Pansy blinked in surprise as a house elf popped into the library at her side holding a small tray with some sandwiches and such on it. The little creature placed it on her table amid the books before disappearing quickly. Pansy didn't even have time to register what had just happened by the time it was gone, and so she couldn't ask who'd told him to bring sandwiches here. She glanced them over, glad to see that they were PB&J, her favorite, and the crusts were even gone. Obviously someone sent them who knew her well enough to know she always peeled the crusts off, and someone who had seen her in here for the countless hours. But... who? It could have been anyone she supposed, since she hadn't paid attention to anyone walking past. Regardless, she was glad of something to eat since it had been some time since her last proper meal. She looked around her, thinking maybe someone would be peeking between the shelves to see if she got the sandwiches, but saw no one and so she ate in silence as she studied.
As she ate and read, something dawned on her. Her favorite sandwich, without the crust. No crust... Draco knew she always took off the crust. He had even routinely stolen her rejected crusts and commented on them. Could he have sent them? But why would he. That was stupid, it was a stupid thought. Draco couldn't care enough to feed her when she was spending hours studying. Why would he even know she was here? He never came to the library if people might see. And though she tried not to think he'd do something like that for her, she knew that it couldn't have been anyone else. It just made no sense.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Pansy's still in here. It's been quite a while. Not sure about real life time, but in awf time it's probably been a week or two by now. Her books have piled up, and despite Pince's pleas for Pansy to put them back where they belong, she insists that she's using them all and wants to keep them all out. She's still got her schedule going, reading by her wandlight all night, practicing during the day in empty rooms whenever she gets a chance. She's essentially forsaken most of her classes by now, finding them pointless and irrelevant to her plans for the rest of her life, and she figures why waste time in something that won't matter down the line? She'd rather spend her time doing something much more productive and relevant, and so she does just that while hidden away in a corner of the library. She's become a permanent fixture there now, pretty much. One of the house elves has started bringing her breakfast there every morning, but she's usually gone around lunch and dinner, so that's her only truly constant meal.
After a particularly long day, Pansy sighed and put her face in her hands, closing her eyes for a moment, but not wasting any time during the quick break. She was running things through her head, incantations and their effects, countercurses, proper wand motions and strategizing suggestions.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Draco walked in an to the back, skimming the shelves again. As he turned a corner he saw Pansy was still in her corner but this time she didn't look so good. She was thinner than ever and had he head in her hands. Slowly he walked over to her, "Pansy?" His concern was overriding his logic that told him she wouldn't want to see him at all.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
That voice. Her hands fell away from her face and her eyes snapped open. Yep, there he was. Talking to her again, looking at her like he actually... cared. "Yeah?" She didn't look at him to wait for his answer, instead turning back to her book and skimming the pages and diagrams.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Draco hesitated. She didn't want him here and he knew that but he couldn't stand by and see her do this to herself. Not when no one seemed to even notice. Deciding he had to do something he took another step forwards, "Pansy, when was the last time you had a full meal? Or slept?"
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Pansy looked back at him a moment, calculating. Here they were again, with the stupid mood swings between good and bad, caring and violent. "I had breakfast this morning and I slept a few hours last night. What's it matter to you?" This didn't make sense to her. She'd seen how he looked at her last time he saw her in the boys dormitory. He'd knocked her aside and thrown a vase at her, but it was what he said that had hurt the worst. She sniffed as if she didn't care, lowering her eyes to her book again.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
He took another step towards her so that he was next to her table. "Breakfast was almost 12 hours ago. Pansy..." She wasn't looking at him so he reached forward and placed his hand on her book, "You need to eat something, you're looking thinner than that summer when you fasted as a protest against your mother."
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
As his hand covered what she had been reading, she looked at him again. She almost smiled at the memory of that summer, when she'd told her mother she wasn't going to eat until she was allowed more freedom. She'd snuck over to Draco's as often as she could, eating anything and everything his house elves had brought her. "Fine." She got up, marking her place in that book with a scrap piece of parchment lying around, picking it up along with one or two other books.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Draco smiled as she stood up. Thank goodness for that, but then his smile turned to a scowl when she picked up her books. "No Pansy," he plucked them from her arms and put them back down onto one of the piles, "No books this time. We're going to get some food in you and get you away from this place for a bit." He wasn't sure how she would react to him grabbing her arm and dragging her there so he decided to give her the chance to decide to come of her own free will.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Pansy glared at him as he snatched the books away from her, and almost protested, but she really didn't want to fight with him. Not again, and especially not over something like this. She didn't wait for him, but started out of the library, weaving between the shelves and out the door, turning toward the great hall where she will now post.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Draco smirked and headed after her, noticing worriedly how thin she really had gotten.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Pansy is still here. After she'd left last time, Madame Pince had gathered up some of her books and put them back, and Pansy had managed to get most of them back by now. Pansy wondered if Draco would come by like he said he would when she'd eaten with him yesterday. I guess she just has to wait and see. She ventured into the restricted section more today, reading about the unforgiveables and the darker forms of dueling. And that's what she's reading now, a book about the finer parts of the Imperius Curse. She stretched for a moment, closing her eyes, before returning to her reading.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Draco walked into the library to collect Pansy for dinner, just like he'd said. Slowly he walked up to her table and peered over the pile off books that looked even larger than last time. "Hey Pansy. What are you reading about now?" He walked around the table to catch a look at the cover.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
"Oh, hey." She closed her book quickly and sat it aside, nonchalantly setting some others on top of it. Somehow, she didn't think Draco would like her studying the Unforgivables. "Just the same sort of stuff. You headed to dinner?" She stacked some more books, passing off hiding the book as if she had been intending to organize them into better stacks all along.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
"We are heading to dinner, yes." He watched as she moved some books around then turned to look around the library, "I think you're the only person in here now." Turning back around he grabbed the bag she'd stuck some books in. "Okay. Let's go."
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Pansy gave him a half smile when he said they were going to dinner. "Yeah, it's usually just me in here." She followed him toward the door, trying to grab her bag back from him, but he wouldn't let her. They headed out toward the great hall and we can go post there now.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Kingsley's sitting at a table near the shelves, talking animatedly with a girl from Ravenclaw. They were discussing laws and what not and had been for an hour or so. And now Molly can walk in and be all 'OMFG HE CAN HOLD A CONVERSATION!' Hehe.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Oh, bitch.
Well Molly is out to prove she's not an idiot, and that she can, like, totally read a book and stuff, and here she is wandering amongst the shelves, looking for the books on Arithmancy. She doesn't spend a great deal of time in the Library, of course, so she doesn't really know her way around, and she's not really looking where she's going because her eyes are fixed on the little markers at the start of each bay of books. And thus, she does not see the table with the two people ahead, and so she walks right into Kingsley's chair, practically falling in his lap. Brilliant. Little move she learned from her brother, who likes to faceplant into people's picnics and whatnot.
She pushes herself back to her feet.
"Oh, sorry," she says brightly, then she realises who she just fell for. Literally, not figuratively, because Molly does not like social retards.
"Oh. It's you. Like, whatever," she grumbles, looking away moodily.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Hehe.
Kingsley's busy talking to the Ravenclaw girl when someone pretty much falls in his lap. They stop talking and watch as Molly pushes herself back up. "Wow, that wasn't very graceful." Kingsley mutters, his eyebrows raised. The Ravenclaw, sensing the new tension in the air, stood up and waved bye to Kingsley, shooting him a charming smile. "See you later, Kingsley." Kingsley smiled back and waved farewell. "See you." After she'd left, he turned to look at Molly. Not saying anything because he didn't really feel like there was much to say - she'd fallen and had managed to get back up. Now she could leave, because he really didn't want to listen to her go on about how socially retarded he was - which really wasn't true at all.

*gigglesnorts*
Molly arches an eyebrow at Kingsley's comment about her momentary lapse of gracefulness. Her eyes flicker to the leaving Ravenclaw girl - huh, she's kind of pretty or whatever - and then back to Kingsley, glaring. "Oh because you're, like, the most graceful person ever? Whatever," she snaps. Hey, she's having a bad day, alright? First she actually has to go into the Library, and then to add insult to injury, she's now tripping over the last person in the world she wants to deal with - the social ri-tard who keeps being mean to her and treating her like she's stupid and who clearly hangs out with smart, pretty girls and from what she can gather is not rude to them. "Not my fault your chair totally takes up, like, the whole freakin' walkway," she mutters.
