Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
"Hm, maybe you should watch where you're going. As I probably heard you say before 'I'm not exactly hard to miss'." He smirked. "Let me guess, you hardly ever come in here so you can't find what you're looking for, and then, since you were too busy watching the little markers on the shelves, you didn't see what was right in front of you and tripped. Believe me, the experience wasn't all that great for me either." Kingsley had been having a good day and now it was ruined because he had to deal with Molly, who looked like she was already having a bad day. For some reason, all that just made him angry and so he couldn't bring himself to not snap at her or not say rude things. It pissed him off too, because he normally wouldn't be this rude to a girl.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Molly's face goes red with anger. She's not sure if she's mad at him or the universe more right now, because it just keeps on dumping her in these situations where she never feels right and everything she says is wrong and how the bloody hell does he keep doing that thing where he knows exactly what she's up to without her even saying a word? It's just rude of him, really. "Wasn't the hight point of my day either, you know. What can I say? I'm usually too busy being, you know, wanted around other people to spend time holed up in this depressing old cave. I'd totally have drawn a map of the Library on the back of my hand, except my hands aren't freakishly oversized!" Wow. Molly blinks a moment, shocked at herself for always managing to say the rudest thing possible to Kingsley, but half a second later she's back to glaring contemptuously at him. He had, after all, just suggested that even the accidental, momentary contact between them was less than pleasant for him, and although she would swear she feels exactly the same, somewhere deep inside the sting of rejection is even sharper than when Rad revealed he's gay to her.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Kingsley was too busy being annoyed to notice that he'd might have even possibly enjoyed the accidental, momentary contact between them. He'd realize it later though...and then he'll probably ignore it since he'll probably still be annoyed with her. "Well, maybe I can help you, let me just pull out my map - I know this place like the back of my hand." he holds his hand up and waves it at her, smirking. Amethyst just died laughing. Kingsley normally didn't respond well to people making fun of him or his size, but he just couldn't help making a joke about it - knowing that it'd annoy Molly more.

Later, Molly will randomly think of that and laugh. Right now, though, she's far too agitated and off-centre to see the funny side of Kingsley's joke. She folds her arms across her chest, her jaw setting angrily. "I don't need your help! I'm, like, perfectly capable of figuring things out for myself, you know." Then she smirks back at him, her eyes flashing still. "Wow. That was totally, like, the first joke you've ever made, wasn't it? Well, I seriously hope it was a first attempt because that was, like, so lame."

"Right, well, you have fun with that. It'd take less time though if you'd just stop being so prideful about it and just asked someone for help." Kingsley snorts. "And for your information I've joked around before, the company just happened to be quite different and we were actually having fun."

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Molly frouts a little bit, because it's frustrating that people assume she's incapable. Merlin, she's small and she's bubbly, but she's not a moron and finding a book in a Library is not beyond her capabilities. She rolls her eyes, as always with Kingsley, it seems to her like she's covering up her feelings and that annoys her because what on earth is she trying to cover anyway? She's pretty sure even a social ri-tard like him can pick out her dislike for him. Why would she be hurt by someone whom she thinks is a jerk acting like a jerk? "Oh, get over it. Like, seriously, it's a book, not a major military operation. I've totally got this. And please - you having fun? You, like, don't even know what it means, you just picked that word because it's nice and short and not beyond your limited verbal capabilities."
With that, she flounces down the aisle, locating the bay she needs sadly only a few short feet away from Kingsley's chair and well within earshot and sight. Damn. Molly starts scanning the titles, grinning proudly to herself when she spots the book she's after. Oh. Her smile fades a bit. It's on the top shelf. She starts looking around for one of the stepladders, thinking that it must be a conspiracy because she can't spot one anywhere right now.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Kingsley's eyebrows raise, "Was 'fun' not a good enough word for you? How about 'merriment', ''amusement', 'enjoyment', 'recreation', there's plenty more I could use." He smirked, tallying the words off on his fingers. Without it really registering in his mind, Kingsley's eyes followed Molly as she walked down the aisle. He couldn't helping smirking when he notices her head tilted back, obviously spotting the book she needed up higher than she could reach. Unfortunately there weren't any stepladders around at the moment. Kingsley knew for a fact that they were all in the back - Filch had put them all back there to have a student clean them without magic. What a fun detention that must have been. For some reason, Kingsley, even though he was extremely annoyed with Molly right now, had the sudden urge to get up and help her. He squashed it though because he really didn't feel like having her snap at him again and tell him that she was perfectly capable of getting the book herself. He figured she could anyway. I mean, she should be quite capable of using a summoning charm.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Damn. Molly was going to wait until Kingsley took the bait and then summon it for herself. *cackles*
Molly, her hands on her hips and her head still tilted back just a little as she contemplates her little predicament, throws a scathing smirk over her shoulder at Kingsley. "So, what, you, like, got yourself a thesaurus to go with your dictionary? Whatever," she scoffs. Having formulated a plan of attack against the evilly high shelves, Molly turns and walks back towards Kingsley. Still smirking insolently at him, she snatches the empty chair next to him and drags it over to the bay of books she needs. Stepping out of her heels - she may have forgotten about Accio but she's not completely stupid and has no desire to fall off the chair and break her neck - she hops lightly on the chair and stretches up on her toes, reaching for the book. It's thicker than her hand span can even grab hold of, and her fingers knock lightly against it, creating a little dustfall. Molly wrinkles her nose. "Oh, ew," she says to herself.
Inner!Hermione and Inner!Lily get sent to the other room in Mya's head for this next part, because Molly leans to the side, trying to avoid as much of the dust shower as possible because Mya can tell you that's never fun, and simply knocks the very heavy, thick book off the shelf. It plummets past her like a stone, landing on the floor with a resounding thud and a little mushroom cloud of dust. Pleased with her efforts, Molly hops down off her makeshift stool, picks the book up, steps back into her shoes, and drags the chair back to the table.

Hehe. Oh, and Inner!Remus is shooting Molly scandalized looks right now. Kingsley watches Molly's progress and blinks when she simply just knocks the book off the shelf. Besides being annoyed at the ill treatment towards the book, he found what she'd just done to be hilarious and, as soon as she was hopping off the chair and picking the book up to head back towards the table, he burst out laughing. He didn't even care that they were in the library. He just kept laughing. "Oh my god, that was hilarious! You know, using Accio would have been so much simpler." His sides hurt from laughing so much.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Molly is so startled by the loud boom of Kingsley's laughter that she drops her book. Luckily she was back to the table by then and it dropped on the wooden surface, not all the way to the floor because that would've been embarrassing. She stares at Kingsley, and for half a second feels like she's been slapped in the face when he points out how easily she might have summoned it. "Just because you can do magic, doesn't mean you have to, like, whip your wand out for every little thing, you know," she says, wrinkling her nose and brushing the dust from the book off her shirt. "So gross," she mutters. "Probably go into, like, respiratory arrest or something from all the dust lining my lungs or whatever. And, uh, ohmyGod you can, like, totally shut up any time now," she snaps at the still laughing Kingsley, while Mya dies of the irony that Molly just told Kingsley to shut up. Like, what?

"You're telling me to shut up?" Kingsley laughs more, finding it amusing that Molly - who could talk nonstop for ages - was telling him to shut up. "Okay, fine, fine. I'll stop laughing now." He manages to stop but can't help an occasional laugh or two. "A little dust never hurt anyone, by the way. Besides you don't spend enough time around these dusty books for it to be bad for you." he smirked.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
The very obvious insult to her intelligence - because in Molly-world, Kingsley pointing out that she doesn't visit the Library often pretty much equates to him insinuating that she does not read all that much, and because she does not read all that much unless necessary for her schoolwork, she must be incapable of it and therefore stupid - has Molly's jaw dropping and her palm itching to slap that smirk right off his face. As always, she finds she has no control around Kingsley and she snaps. "Who the hell do you think you are!? OhmyGod, like, go to hell! Just because you totally freakin' live in here or whatever it doesn't give you the right to act like you're better than me or something. I don't know what I've done to offend your delicate sensibilities or whatever, but I am so totally over your crap. I'm not stupid, Kingsley, so stop trying to make me feel like an idiot all the time because it makes you feel smarter or something!" She's breathing just a little heavier in her anger, eyes narrowed into dangerous slits and fixed unforgivingly on his, and yes, that was probably far too loud for a library but she doesn't care. She folds her arms defensively over herself, somehow feeling worse for having gotten all that off her chest when she'd thought it would make her feel better.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
"Yet you're still standing here." Kingsley stated. "I would think, considering you're telling me that you're through with dealing with me, that you would have left by now so you wouldn't have to hear anymore of my belittling responses. Which isn't always my intention, of course, but, since you're so convinced that I believe you to be utterly stupid, I guess I can't help it that you feel like an idiot all the time when you're around me. You can interpret things however you'd like it, not my problem. I'm pretty certain you're quite capable of being extremely smart, you just seem to have a habit of doing things- that I notice when I'm around- in an either simpler, or more unusual way which doesn't entirely prove to me your totally brilliant or something. I mean, seriously, pulling that chair over and knocking the book to the ground? Even if you didn't want to use magic you could have asked someone else to help." Kingsley was annoyed and slightly angry but he was quite capable of keeping his tone level - not wanting Madam Pince to show up and yell at them. "And also, as for 'not dealing with anymore crap' I've about had it with you making cracks about how tall or big I am. Is your brain/mouth filter broken? Wonder if it's not just me you do that too. I doubt anyone else would like it when you speak before thinking. I would appreciate it if you would think before opening that mouth of yours."

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Oh, snap.
Pretty much every word of that cuts Molly to the bone. She knows Kingsley well enough by now to know that he doesn't waste words, which means that he fully believes in every single thing that just came out of his mouth. For the first time in her life, Molly has nothing. No words, no cheeky little quips and grins and comebacks. No confidence.
"Yeah, well...." She blinks. Nothing comes to her own defence and the seconds stretch on. She scowls, letting the first thing she can think of fall from her lips because she has no idea why, but it's suddenly very important that she have a response to this. "Da ti is'hnat madyata"
Oops, wrong language.
She turns on her heel and storms off, stopping when she's about ten paces away because she's left the bloody book on the bloody table. "Bloody hell! Accio!"
The book comes zooming right past Kingsley's nose and into her hands, and she continues her big exit, frustrated beyond belief because she can't even get storming off right around him.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
*is dead*
Kingsley waits as the seconds stretch on, wondering if he'd gone a bit too far this time. He was just speaking what he thought though, that's what he did, no point in lying to someone, and if she couldn't handle that well then that was her problem not his. He blinks at her when she finally speaks...in Bulgarian. He hadn't heard that one before. He could speak Bulgarian quite well himself - Kingsley had been studying as many languages he could since he was young - but he'd never heard that phrase before. He was definitely going to look int up later. He doesn't respond but watches her storm off only to realize she'd forgotten the book she'd came in here for in the first place. If things hadn't escalated to this point, Kingsley might have chuckled at the fact that Molly had just used the summoning spell she had not used before when she'd needed it, but, as it was, he just continued to watch until she was gone. Then he sighed, turning back to the table, and rubbed at his temples with the palms of his hands. His headache was back again, but he was too ticked off to head over to the hospital wing. Why was it that everytime he was around Molly they ended up fighting? Hadn't things started okay between them? Just a tiny bit anyway. He couldn't even remember how they'd ended up snapping at each other in the first place, leading to their constant fighting everytime they were in each others presence. It was so strange that just something simple as her falling in his lap by accident had led to shouting and horrible insults being thrown at each other. Kingsley hardly ever acted like this and it pissed him off. He was quite capable of being a great guy - he was, in general, nice to everyone. Hardly anyone ever told him that the fact that he hardly spoke bothered them. They just understood that that's how he was. Why did it have to be such a problem with Molly?
Kingsley got up and headed out of the library - later he'd look up whatever Molly had shouted at him. Right now he was just too pissed off to care. He was so pissed off that when the quick thought passed through his mind, making him realize that he may have actually enjoyed the accidental, momentary contact with Molly earlier, he shoved it aside, refusing to believe it or even give it more thought. It was ridiculous - there was no way he'd enjoy being around Molly or, for Merlin's sake, touching her. No way at all.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
For as long as he can remember, being around books, reading books, just...books in general, have been a great comfort for Remus. So it seemed, since first year, whenever something upsetting or uncomfortable happened, Remus would find himself here at the library. He meandered about the shelves aimlessly, not really looking for anything in particular. He couldn't figure out what he was feeling at the moment. Sure he'd been somewhat upset when he'd realized it was ending - he'd enjoyed being with Viktor - but Viktor must be right. They must be looking for two different things, but what exactly was Remus looking for? It confused him cause he wasn't completely sure himself. He'd never given it much thought because it'd never been as important to him as other things were.
Remus rounded a shelf and spotted a deserted, secluded table. Sitting down, he leaned back in his chair, looking out the tiny window that was next to the table. He could see over the lake and the view was quite lovely.
He sighed and slouched forward, resting his forehead on the table. Well, things happened. It wasn't the end of the world, and they were still going to be friends. It'd be okay. The only thing that sucked now was that he couldn't even talk to Sirius about it. He'd felt terrible lying to Sirius the other day in the dorm - telling him that nothing was going on - but there was no way he could tell Sirius about what had been goinng on. And now this...well, it'd be great if he could talk to his best friend about it but he couldn't. He hated not being able to talk to Sirius about something. Of course there were always things he didn't want to talk to anyone - including Sirius - about but, for the most part, he liked knowing he could talk to Sirius about something and he wouldn't get totally laughed at.
He got up and headed towards the entrance, wondering if it was possible to find his brother somewhere. He hadn't spoken to him in a while and he knew he could always count on Dean to listen to him.
