Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Melanie looked up at him with disgust as he talked about losing his inheritance and his last name over something like this. "Oh stop being such a stuck up, prissy little bitch." She said with a glare as she pulled her hands away from him and took a step back. "What? How is that even your say?" She asked him with a glare. "You're not the one with it growing inside of you." She said as she placed her hands on her hips.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Lucius clenched his fist to keep from smacking Melanie across the face, and instead settled for grabbing her by the hair and pulling her face in close to his. "Listen," he whispered harshly. "This thing," he spat with disgust, "is not yours. It's not mine. You're getting rid of it, and that's that." He let go of her hair and pushed her back away from him. "This is not my fault. If you weren't such a useless little slut then none of this would have happened."

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Melanie let out a small gasp when he pulled her towards him by her hair. She glared up at him and let out another gasp when he pushed her back from him, she never saw Lucius as a violent person, she always saw of him as a nice guy who wouldn't hurt anyone. She thought he was nice, cute, charming. "Fine." She said quietly. Terminating a pregnancy was normally something she would never do but she was honestly scared of what Lucius would do to her if she didn't. "I'll get rid of it." She breathed out quietly.

Lucius' expression softened slightly, though he still looked extremely displeased. But she had given in to him and that was enough for now. "We're going to the hospital wing. I don't think you'd be stupid enough to lie to me, but I want this confirmed. Now," he demanded as he grabbed her by the arm and turned her in the direction of the library exit, letting go of her as soon as they got out into the hall where others might see how tightly he was holding her.

Remus is wandering about. He's in a relatively good mood today because his parents sent him a lot of chocolate. Yay chocolate! *holds up a cue sign for Audrey*

Audrey walked along and saw Remus standing there. She'd only really seen him around before, not knowing him all that well so she decided today was one of those days to talk to someone new. She walked over to him and waved, "Hi Remus! How're you today?"

Remus looks up and blinks, not entirely sure who this girl is who's saying hi to him. "Er...hi?" He was probably going to die of awkward or something; he could already feel his face melting and his nerves going haywire. For about the millionth time, just this year, he wondered why he had to have been cursed or something so it was practically impossible for him to talk to most girls. He's still trying to place this girl. "I'm alright...it's Audrey, isn't? Sorry, we just haven't really spoken before. I hope I didn't get your name wrong."

Audrey nodded, "Yeah it's Audrey." She sat down next to him, wondering how she kept running into awkward men. Then again she had to admit that it was at least amusing to watch them squirm for a bit. "We haven't really but I see you in here all the time. And I think you know my friend Hermione Granger?"

[okies!!]
Remus was relieved he'd gotten her name right. Sirius had told him on occasion that girls didn't like it when you got their names wrong. Remus had a suspicion that that was more - in Sirius' case anyway - pertaining to when Sirius would get drunk and make out with some girl he just met and then couldn't remember her name the day after and called her the wrong one. Yep yep. Remus would never do something like that...well, obviously, he wasn't exactly into girls now, was he? "Oh...I suppose...most people see me in here quite a bit..I do kind of live in here half the time." he laughed, somewhat nervously. "I met Hermione the other day." He could feel his face heating up slightly but figured it was just because he was still in his awkward mode cause he was talking to a girl. "She's really nice. We couldn't figure out how we hadn't met before since we both seem to spend a lot of time in here."

Audrey thought his blush was endearing. She is now wondering what about girls makes him nervous, and she did infact notice his blush intensify when she mentioned Mione, that however was something to be explored another day. "I've always loved the library here, it's amazing all the new books you can find all the time." The only think Audrey wished Hogwarts had and it's something Tam wonders about all the time is some sort of great big book that has all the books listed in it with indexes and such so you could find books centered around a topic. Like a muggle library computer archive. It would make sense for them to have one but they don't seem to.

Ooooh that would be a great idea. Very handy. "I'll agree to that..." he nodded. "I've spent pretty much all my free time in here since first year and I still manage to find new books when I just randomly look about." He was trying to think of something else to talk about but, as usual, he was terrible at coming up with conversation topics since his mind was still in sort of frozen state.

Audrey nodded. "So what did you come in here for today? Looking for a fun book or working on homework?" Audrey still wasn't sure what the difference was but she supposed that Jane Austen didn't count for school as hard as she tried to make it seem that way.

"Ah, er, just a little bit of both, I guess." Remus shrugged. "It's hard to get studying done around Gryffindor cause everyone's so loud half the time. Are you looking for anything in particular in here?"

"It seems like it would be, that's the good thing about Ravenclaw I guess, it's always pretty good for studying in there." She shrugged and looked at the shelves around them. "I can't decide. I almost just want to pull a book out at random and see what I end up with."

"Oh!" Remus' eyes light up and he nods enthusiastically. "I like doing that! I've learned some interesting things that way. And once, as a return prank on one of my friends, I put this curse on a book and then pulled it 'randomly' off the shelf to show him that, basically, yeah, you never know what you may find when you just randomly do something like that and when he opened it his hair turned all gray and he grew a beard." Remus chuckles at the memory. "I think he was more surprised that I actually attempted a prank than angry that I had turned his hair gray." Then Remus went all quaffley and went quiet again because he was embarrassed that he had talked so much.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Marlene walks into the Library, ignoring everyone around her, and heads straight for the section she most often frequents; the books on curses, hexes, and duelling. Within minutes, she has almost all the aisle blocked off, leaving only a small gap for people to skirt around her. About ten of the best books are scattered around her, open to various pages. Her hand falls on Slinkhard's Defensive Magical Theory and she scoffs. "Load of bollocks," she mutters, and tosses it down the aisle and out of the way because it doesn't deserve the usual respect books deserve.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Pansy made her way through the library, trying to decide if she'd go for the usual astronomy books, or jump back into her other obsession, the dueling section. Choosing the latter, she travels along the narrow aisles, leaping up as a book goes sailing along the floor where she was walking, catching herself on the shelf beside her and nearly knocking a book or two to the ground in the process. "Damnit." She caught the books before they fell, shoving them back into their spots on the shelves and turning her attention toward the book thrower. Quirking an eyebrow, she walked up behind the girl, amused that she apparently wasn't the only one who frequently made something resembling book castles in the middle of her favorite aisles. Her eyes skimmed over the piles, spotting one on top that she actually hadn't read yet. She didn't recognize the girl, but figured she may as well ask, pointing at the dark blue volume to the girl's side. "Are you going to need that one, or could I take it?"
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Marlene's eyes flicker upwards at the commotion, watching the other girl regain her composure after dodging the pathetic excuse for a book. "Nice reflexes," she comments, skimming the page in front of her and flipping it. "I was going to read that one, yeah - there's a chapter on offensive tactics that's meant to be the best yet," she says, a little guarded. In the Ravenclaw Common Room, this would be the point where exacto knives and threats to rumble occasionally crop up. "You can have it when I'm done. Or if you can keep up, take a seat," she offers with a shrug.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
"Thanks," Pansy muttered in response, giving the girl a quick glance before returning her attention to the book. She'd better have good reflexes, if all that dueling practice and learning had paid off at all. Though she was ready to tell the girl it wasn't bloody likely she would just wait and have it when she was done, especially not when she already had every other good book gathered up around her as well, the alternative to join her in the floor kept Pansy tame for the moment. She shrugged and sank to the floor nearby, picking up the blue book regardless. "I'll just skim until you're ready for it. If it's got the best chapter for offense, I'll definitely be needing to read that." She opened it up, skimming the table of contents to find that chapter, before she figured she may as well introduce herself. She turned to the offensive tactics chapter and then looked up at the other brunette. "I'm Pansy, by the way. Don't think I've ever met you before."
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Marlene arches an eyebrow. Naturally her first instinct is a very loud 'back off, bitch' when Pansy picks up the book anyway, but then she figures that as long as the book stays within reach, no harm done. It's almost intriguing and definitely refreshing, given that Marlene often has the power to make people back away slowly mumbling apologies with a look and a few sharp words. "Whatever," she says, shifting the book in her lap so she can more comfortably focus on it. "I'll be a little bit anyway. Don't think we have - I'm Marlene," she returns. "You into duelling?" Her eyes fly down the page in front of her even as she speaks.

Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
Pansy's gaze returned to the book in her lap, looking the chapter over as Marlene introduced herself. "Yeah. More last month than this month, but all the same." She shifted to sit more comfortably, stretching her legs out in front of her, careful not to knock over any of the stacks of books Marlene had arranged around herself. She put the book down on her lap, reading it more thoroughly and slowly, paying attention to everything it suggested. She smirked to herself from time to time, reading something she'd thought of before, or something she'd tried once or twice, making mental notes when she read something that was new to her.
Re: The Library: Between The Stacks
"I'm always into it," Marlene says, slowing down her reading just a little so that she still takes it all in whilst speaking at the same time. Apart from the book Pansy is currently reading, she's read most of what Hogwarts has to offer when it comes to defensive and offensive magic techniques, but it's a few weeks until the next Hogsmeade weekend when she can go searching further afield for new material, and the refresher never hurts. "Nothing more important than learning how to take care of things yourself, not like you can just expect everyone else to look after you," she shrugs.
