There's not much else...I've been told I can be rather boring, but then again that's from some friends of mine who don't understand the joy of sitting in a comfortable spot for most of the day just reading or talking to someone else about books or...classwork," he spoke the last word fast, reddening and looking down awkwardly. Well, now he probably seemed even more boring, besides the fact that he loved books. "Yes, I'd definitely like to be friends." He said decisively, hoping he could just skim over the classwork comment.

"That's about the crux of it," Hermione mutters. "How do we not know each other? We must be in different streams or something," she says, because that's the only way I can figure out how to explain away that they never met despite being in the same House and the same year. >.> "I never knew Dean had a brother. Wow." She hears Remus mention classwork even though he tries to pave right over it and her eyes light up. "Really? I love my classes! What's your favourite?" she asks, latching eagerly onto the excuse to talk shop, so to speak.

Remus actually gives Hermione a slightly surprised look when she admits to loving her classes. "Okay, really." he laughs, agreeing with her earlier statement, "How haven't we met before?" It was becoming much easier for him to talk to her the more he found out how much they had in common. "I'd have to say Transfiguration is one of my favorites. I am terrible at Potions though. Honestly, if I wasn't getting tutoring I'd probably still know Potions only at a fourth year level." he chuckled, slightly embarrassed. "I'm pretty good at everything else though. Which is your favorite- oh!" he blinks, looking up at her suddenly, tilting his head slightly as if he's trying to remember something. "You know what? I think I've heard your name before. It just occurred to me. I mean, I think my friend...he might have mentioned you, yeah, but also I think a couple of teachers have mentioned your name before when they were talking to me about grades and top students. Er...yeah." he went slightly quaffley after his little outburst.

"Seems almost wrong that we don't know each other already," Hermione says shyly. "Oh, I love Transfiguration! Potions, too. Erm, I love all my classes, actually. Well, I'm not so fond of History of Magic, but only because the way Binns teaches it makes it seem dry. I'm sure a more lively educator could work wonders with that curriculum." Hermione pauses, her face flushing deeply as Remus mentions how he's heard her name before. She's embarrassed, but she can't help but look quite pleased with herself. "Oh. I see... really? Oh." She can't quite figure out what else to say to that.

Remus chuckled. "I have to agree with your take on History of Magic. And I never slack off, but I definitely get a bit bored on occasion." He noticed she couldn't quite figure out how else to respond to his comment and reddened slightly. "Sorry, did I embarrass you with my comment? I'd just suddenly remembered and had mentioned all that without really thinking. Not something I normally do, believe me. I usually think before I speak, which means a lot of thinking and it's quite annoying to others. I have a few friends who definitely don't think before they speak." The worst being Sirius, definitely.

"I think my main issue with paying attention in History of Magic is trying to hear over the sound of everyone else snoring," Hermione says, and then she smiles reassuringly, shaking her head a little. "No, it's fine. It's probably good for me to get a taste of my own medicine, so I know what it's like. Sometimes I don't think before I speak," she confesses, looking slightly sheepish.

"Ah yes, the snoring." Remus rolled his eyes, looking mildly amused. "I know exactly what you mean, especially since my best friend is one of the ones who snores probably the loudest. I'm always nudging Sirius awake but that idiot just throws paper at me and goes back to sleep." he shook his head, sighing. "And don't worry, I think everyone has moments where they forget to think before saying something." he gave her a small, reassuring smile.

"Well if it was only every now and then I'd not worry too much, but sometimes it seems like my foot just lives in my mouth," Hermione says, but she giggles lightly anyway because Remus and his quirks and all his similarities to her is oddly reassuring. She feels comfortable right now, which is not often something she could say for herself around unfamiliar boys. Gideon Prewett springs to mind there, but Inner!Hermione insists that him having seen her naked after lesbian sex is, in fact, reason enough for her to be allowed to blush forever. She clutches the book he'd selected for her to her chest and smiles. She has to leave, but she doesn't want to.

Remus is pretty good at reading people sometimes and he can tell by Hermione's stance that she probably has to leave soon. He's kind of disappointed cause he realizes that he's pretty comfortable talking to her, which is a miracle considering he's normally not comfortable around many girls at all. "Ahh...well, I suppose you must be busy or needing to get somewhere, so if you'd like I can get out of your way so you can leave..." though his tone of voice sort of suggested that he'd prefer to stay and talk a bit more. "um, maybe we'll run into each other again soon. I'd...really like to talk with you again." his face was red and he was looking down at the ground again.

Hermione grimaces slightly. "As much as I'd really rather stay, I do have to leave," she admits with a sigh. She looks down, blushing, then smiles up at Remus. "It was really nice talking to you. I'm in here quite a lot, you know, and I don't say this to everyone because study is so important, but your company would always be welcome." Her blush is possibly brighter than his by now, and she shuffles her feet on the spot a little. She was meant to be doing something, right...? Oh. Of course. Leaving. Any second now she's going to be able to get her feet to point in the right direction and move one in front of the other in perpetual motion until she leaves and gets where she needs to go. Really.

"Thank you..I'll look for you the next time I'm in here." he smiled softly. He should probably be heading off as well but he can't really remember where at the moment. He looked up and saw that she was still standing there as well, then laughed. "I can't exactly remember where I'm heading off to, but I should probably go...wherever- oh, right, I remember now." he blushed and sighed. Potions tutoring. Well, now he really didn't want to leave. He was having much more fun in here talking, not to mention having a distraction from his recently constant depressed thoughts. Ah well. "Alright, farewell." he gave her another small smile and waved farewell, turning - almost running into the corner of the bookshelf which caused him to quaffle even more - and headed out of the library.

Hermione stands still, her expression rather blank as she tries to catch up with what's happening. "Goodbye," she whispers as Remus disappears from view, a little smile settling over her face without her even realising it. Hermione's conscious brain maintains that study is where her focus should remain right now, that every time she tries to get close to someone she either hurts them or gets hurt herself and she should just not consider it. But deep down, without her even realising it, the ice she's trying so desperately to set around her heart begins to melt. And with that Godawful cliche, Hermione walks out of the Library to whatever pressing appointment she now has.

Melanie walked into the library, still freaking out a little bit. She had gained ten pounds in the past week and she had been having the weirdest cravings in the history of ever and she had been getting morning sickness. All of this had happened after she realized that she had sex with Lucius and not used the charm. She walked around the corner and saw Lucius walking down the aisle. "You!" She said pointing at him as she walked over to him, placing her hand on his shoulder and slamming his back against the bookcase. "DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID TO ME?!" She asked, her hand still pressing his back against the bookcase.

Lucius' eyes widened in shock, because, wow, he had never seen Melanie look this pissed off before. And it was kind of hot, to be honest. "I...fucked you," he said slowly, a sly grin spreading across his face as he answered, though he wasn't quite sure why she was so upset. Probably because he didn't talk to her since they first hooked up. Shit. Maybe she wasn't as carefree as he thought.

She practically yelled at him, completely forgetting that they were in the middle of the library and that it was supposed to be quiet in the library. "Yeah hey, when you fucked me, did you ever think like before hand that it would be a good idea to use the contraceptive charm?" She asked, stepping closer to him as she continued to glare at him and press him against the bookcase.

Lucius' pale face turned about ten shades whiter as the realization hit him. Shit. No, no, no, no, no. He could handle getting married to someone and risking his sex life, he could handle Sirius Black with a wand, he could handle dragons, bad hair days (like he ever had any), Mudbloods, Weasleys. This...this he could not handle. A child would ruin everything. His future. His inheritance. His sex life. Everything. "No. You...you can't be. You're not," he stammered, glancing down at her stomach then back up at her angry face again. "Please, no," he whispered, looking flustered for the first time in his life as all the color drained from his face.

Melanie nodded her head and removed her hand from his shoulder to lift her shirt, to show the small bump on her stomach. "Yeah, I gained ten pounds this week, this morning I was craving pickles with nutella, and I have had morning sickness all week." She said, dropping her shirt and glaring up at him. Her voice didn't stay calm though as she realized that she indeed, was pregnant and it was this mans fault. She pushed him back up against the bookcase, this time putting both her hands on her chest to shove him backwards. "WHY DIDN'T YOU THINK TO USE THE CHARM?!"

Lucius' gasped in horror at the sight of what was definitely a growing baby bump. He was so frazzled by everything, that even the idea of nutella and pickles didn't make him gag. "Well...I...It's not like you reminded me to use the charm. This isn't my fault," he spat in a quiet, harsh tone. "And...how do you really know you're pregnant? Pickles and nutella would could easily be the cause of you gaining five pounds, not a fucking baby."

Melanie glared up at him. "But you're the boy!" She said glaring at him. "If it weren't for you then I would not be pregnant right now with your baby!" She spat at him with a glare, she also said it quite loudly if I may add. "I know I am really pregnant because you don't just gain ten pounds like that, get weird cravings and get morning sickness! That's not something that just happens!" She said, rolling her eyes at him. "And do you really think I ate an entire jar of pickles with nutella on them? That's disgusting." She said, still glaring at him.

Lucius panicked. Not only was some random chick he hooked up now pregnant, but she was flaunting it about for everyone to hear. He took a deep breath, his hands shaking slightly as the idea of him being a father to some random child became more real with every passing second. And shit, he had a date with Narcissa this weekend too, which would complicate things even more. "Please, would you keep your voice down?" he asked, not bothering to be polite about it despite his use of the word 'please.'

Melanie pushed him against the bookcase again. "No I will not keep my voice down! You fucking knocked me up!" She said with a glare. "How do you expect me to keep my voice down? I have a human being growing inside of my body!" She said, still glaring at him. "How do you expect me to keep calm when something like that is happening to me?! Do you realize how much babies ruin lives for kids in school?"

"Yes, I realized," he hissed. "Do you know what this will do to me? I could lose my inheritance, my last name...over something like this," he informed her in a cold, disgusted tone. He rested his hands on top of hers, then rudely shoved them off of him. "You are not going to have this baby," he said, looking down at the small bump with disgust. "You're getting rid of it."
