Draco walked into the common room with Pansy, the dim lighting and the crackling of the fire being oddly comforting. It was a slight contrast from the dungeons, but home all the same. He turned to face her and smiled, seeing the path to the Girls' Dormitory out of the corner of his eye, "So, I guess I'll be seeing you tomorrow then?" He muttered, laying back in his spot on the couch. He set up a cushion behind his head, waiting for her reply.

Pansy wandered into the common room with Draco, almost in some kind of daze though she couldn't be sure of the cause. Both the happiness of fixing things up with Draco and the sleepiness that had taken over could be the culprit. The fire was warm, even from the door, and she was anxious to get closer to it, to reheat her fingers. She paused in front of it and held out her hands, glancing over her shoulder to see Draco lying on the couch. At his question, she was torn. It was tempting to stay down here with him by the fire, but she figured it was still too soon to be doing things like that again. "Yeah, s'pose so," she answered, almost reluctantly.

Draco noticed that she wasn't too keen on leaving quickly. He summoned a sheet from his dormitory and watched as it rested itself on the coffee table, folded, "I'd offer you a spot to sleep down here with me..." He paused, "But - seeing the circumstances - I didn't think you'd want to," He fixed the cushion once more in an attempt to appear like he was preoccupied. He would have loved to have her sleep in the common room with him, but he thought she deserved a better night's sleep. They last time they had spent their nights in the common room they were a couple and now they weren't. As much as that pained him to admit. He fixated his gaze back on her, "I think it may be best if you get a good night's sleep in your dormitory. I'll be down here when you wake and we can go get breakfast in the Great Hall or something. Like old times," Somewhat, he thought to himself, Subtract the awkwardness and, yes, like old times.

Pansy stared into the fire as he talked, noticing he was nearly as reluctant as she felt. They both knew better. She looked over her shoulder again. "Oh, no. I couldn't turn down my bed when it's so close," she laughed. Turning from the fire she crossed the room, pausing at the door of the girls dormitories. "See you tomorrow then." And she disappeared up to her room, knowing the moment her head touched her pillow, she'd be out cold.

Draco watched her leave, wishing she didn't have to. He wished he hadn't screwed it up with her, but was happy he had the strength to know what was right from wrong. He mumbled to himself when she was already gone, "See you..." He collapsed back against the couch, his head sinking into the pillow. He pulled the sheet from the table and draped it over him, closing his eyes and falling into sleep.

Severus came down the stairs, his eyes bloodshot from lack of sleep, and looking even more emaciated than normal, as he'd forgotten to eat the last two days. Oops. He notices Draco on the couch and gulps, before quickly retreating to the darkest and least conspicuous corner of the room to simultaneously mope and panic.

Pansy came out of the girls dormitory carrying her school bag.When she woke up this morning, she'd almost convinced herself that last night hadn't really happened. But seeing Draco was still asleep on the couch, she knew it was real. She contemplated heading down for breakfast, but remembered that he'd said they could go together, so she slipped over to a table by the door to the girls dorm to sit and read a while in the still quiet room. Her eyes followed the words across the page, but she wasn't absorbing any of them. It was just black and white shapes flashing past, no meaning. Her mind was busy elsewhere, still a little torn and confused, but happy again nonetheless.

Astoria walks back inside the Common Room from breakfast. Astoria grins happily knowing she has a free period until before lunch. She glances around and sees Sev in one corner, Pansy in another and Draco, fast asleep on the couch. She smiles secretly to herself as she notices that the sheets had completely come off of Draco, and that he's snoring....loudly.* "Goof," she mutters, rolling her eyes. She contemplates whether or not to put the blanket back over him, but remembers Pansy sitting in the corner. Astoria shakes her head and votes against it and walks to the opposite couch across from Draco and begins to read the Animagus chapter for Transfiguration instead....

Severus got up and slipped out the door quietly, trying not to wake Draco and be noticed. He didn't know where to go, but he didn't want to be there when Malfoy woke up.

Pansy's stomach growled. She looked up from her reading and saw that Draco was still asleep. Laughing, she figured he wouldn't care if she left without him, so she packed up her things and headed quietly toward the door, planning on some food to begin with, and then maybe hitting the library for that stupid History of Magic paper she hadn't started yet.

Astoria looks up from her textbook when she notices that Pansy had left. She quickly looks around. No one's watching.... She slowly creeps over to the other couch and fixes the sheets back over Draco. She can't help but giggle again as another loud snore escapes him as he rolls over, cuddling the sheets as he did so. "I swear, that boy can sleep though anything!" *shakes head and laughs*
