A note floats in and lands on a table in the common room.

Miss Parkinson has been admitted to the hospital wing. If a friend could bring her a change of clothes and something to keep her occupied when she wakes, it would be appreciated.

[He's at the lake with 203958r320 other people so it would be too complicated. Um... I can have him show up here. I magically made him drunk so maybe he'll come here and get the alcohol before going to the lake where he is now.]

Severus walks in, runs to his dormitory and runs back down with a bottle of whiskey in hand, promptly knocking over a pretty blonde girl.

Narcissa frowned as she was nearly knocked over. "Watch it--" she stopped, realizing the offender wasn't a first year as she had expected. "Oh, um... Sorry to have knocked into you!" After standing up straighter and brushing herself off, she turned to him. "Well then, I'm Narcissa. Can I help you?"

Severus stared at her a moment, debating whether or not to snap at her or actually attempt something resembling normalcy. "I've seen you about. I'm Severus. Severus Snape," he said, glad he hadn't dropped the bottle.

Something seemed to flicker in Narcissa's mind and her eyes lit up with a spark of recollection. "Oh! I've heard of you! Aren't you that boy that's always moping about?" She stopped abruptly, her hand flying to her mouth. "Ah, whoops! I didn't mean that, I'm sorry... I'm sure you have plenty enough to mope about, right?" She laughed nervously and cursed her awkwardness. She seemed to have some sort of a bad streak when introducing herself. "Anyways, what's with the bottle?" she changed the subject.

Severus glared at her, more than a little miffed and angered by her audacity. "Excuse me? Who the hell do you think you are, blondie, to talk to me like that?" he snapped irritably. "It's whiskey. Alcohol. You know, that stuff that a girl like you should probably stay away from," he said, opening the bottle.

Narcissa flushed, partially with anger, and partially from embarrassment. "Well, just because I'm not familiar with it doesn't mean I can't drink it. Who are you to say what I can and can't do? I can hold my alcohol very well, thank you." She chose to leave out the fact that she had hardly had two sips before, and even then it was so she didn't appear rude at dinner parties.

Severus laughed. "Really, Narcissa? You're a lightweight if I ever saw one," he mocked. He let his eyes wander over her, not even bothering to fake a semblance of modesty.

Narcissa was obviously worked up by this point, being as easily frustrated as she was. Her face was a bright crimson by this point and she didn't know whether to laugh it off or not. "Listen, Severus," she said, a tad snarky. "I don't know why you have such an attitude problem, but even if I was a "lightweight" or whatever, it shouldn't have anything to do with my value as a person!" She had no idea why he was getting her so upset. Maybe it was just the fact that she wanted to be accepted, epecially among her housemates, or maybe she was just an emotional wreck; she wasn't totally sure.

Severus chuckled, amused by her reaction. "Relax, woman, I was only teasing. Though if you're so determined to prove you're no lightweight, why don't you try some," he sneered, holding out the bottle to her. It was cheap stuff, but it was strong.

"Oh..." she mumbled, averting her eyes to her feet. She took the bottle so as to not damage her pride and took a large swig of it. A bitter taste filled her mouth as she swallowed it. She tried not to show her dislike of the drink and eyed Severus carefully. "See?" she thought, thinking that a sip was quite an impressive feat.

Severus burst out laughing at the grimace she made, though she was obviously trying to mask her dislike. Still laughing, he took the bottle back and screwed it shut. "I was only kidding. Relax, girl. Just do yourself a favor and stay away from the stuff, you're too pretty to waste," he said with a smirk. "What year are you, anyway?" he said, his eyes roaming to her chest.

Narcissa smiled a bit at the compliment. "Sixth year," she said, a bit proudly. "What about you, though?" She felt bad for having been so sensitive around him earlier and was hoping to make amends by having a bit nicer conversation with him.

"Seventh year," he said, his eyes flickering back up to meet hers. "Wait... I know you. You're one of the Black sisters, aren't you? Bella and Andromeda's sister?"

She nodded. "I am." she looked a bit past Severus, thinking about her sisters. "I can't say it's necessarily a good thing, though. Bellatrix is a little... controlling sometimes. She's overbearing; you know, of course. And Andromeda and I have grown so distant..." She snapped back into reality. "How do you know my family? Well, of course I've probably seen you at parties or something, but I'm not sure... Have we met before?"

[Why do we not have a Bella or Andromeda? And if we do, why have I not met them? Razz
