Once Angelina is completely calm, she pointedly looks at Jack. "You know that's not what I meant. I just meant all the boring and stupid and mundane things that must happen in there. It's not my fault you have a dirty mind, Mr. Smith." She smirks, returning her hand to it's former place on the desk. "And a door-to-hotness ration? Don't go telling me you rate the attractiveness of doors, now. That's just unnecessary, you know. At least, I'd hope it's unnecessary..."

"I object!" Jack says hotly. Then he pauses, considers, and shakes his head. "No, actually, that's a lie. I do have a dirty mind. It's part of my charm," he happily informs Angelina. He smirks wickedly at her. "Doors, hmm? Now there's something I've never considered. The door-to-hotness ratio just means that the degree to which the door should be closed is inversely proportional to the hotness of the people getting it on behind it. And that, Miss Johnson, is how dorm room doors are forever and always different to the door to Dumbledore's office!"

"Well, I'm glad you see the reasoning and changed your mind, because, well, your mind is anything but clean, I'm sure. And if it's part of your charm, either I highly doubt that or I have yet to have the pleasure to experience it," Angelina says wryly, but she is still smiling. "And doors? Really? But really though, have you ever enforced this rule, or tried to anyway? Because I highly doubt it would work, to be honest."

Jack pretends to pout. "I'm pretty sure it's part of my charm," he mumbles to himself, a dejected and stubborn insistence. Half a second later, though, he's had a sip of pumpkin juice, dropped a cake onto his plate, and is back to his usual grinning self. "Well, it's not so much a 'rule' as... let's just call it the wishful thinking and well thought out proposal on behalf of your average teenage boy."

"You keep thinking that," Angelina retorts. She smiles, just a little amused at how quickly he recovers from what just a second ago was seemingly a life-threatening emotional wound. "Average? Really, you're going with 'average' as a word to describe yourself. I'm sure there are better words we could use - crazy, smart - presuming you're a proper Claw -, perpetually hungry..." And definitely cute, she adds in her head, although of course she doesn't dare say that out loud.

"I will," Jack promises, grinning. He laughs and shakes his head a little. "Hey, I just said I was acting on behalf of the average teenage boy, not that I was one. But since we're throwing words around, we could also go with sexy, witty, interesting. All of which apply to you, too," he winks.

Angelina's face falls. "So if you're not a teenage boy, what are you? Please don't tell me this is going to turn into a confession that you're a vampire or something. That would just ruin my whole week." Hearing those descriptions, Angelina flushes again. This seems to be becoming a habit. "Why thank you." She wants to make a witty retort about how she's not so sure they apply to him, but she knows they do, and doesn't really like to lie, not really.

"Oh, I'm a teenage boy, I promise. No sparkling skin or whatever that other God-awful bollocks is meant to pass for vampire lore according to Muggles. I'm just not your average is all," he grins, his eyes fixing almost hungrily on the way her skin flushes at his compliment. It's all true, of course, and he wants her to know it. "You're welcome," he replies, letting the rare moment where neither tries to retort or one-up the other sit for a pleasant moment before he pushes his advantage. "Come on another date with me?"

"Well, that's a relief," Angelina admits, "I can't say I like boys that sparkle - not that I ever met one, of course, but there you have it, a general assumption from Angelina Johnson." She can tell he is sincere, and she says nothing, just for once managing to restrain a blush. Funny how she could never do that until now. There is a lovely pause, just silence (or as close to it as they can get while sitting in the Great Hall), but then he speaks again. For a second, it doesn't process and she simply blinks. Then, she grins. "Sure, why not. Can't get enough of me, I suppose."

Jack laughs. He loves the crazy mix of aloofness, shyness, and the occasional bout of cockiness that makes Angelina so interesting to him. "Right, that's it. Well, that, and what kind of man would I be if I left you with nothing else to fill your time but your quidditch book? Then when Claw beat Gryff for the cup you'd be devastated and might be completely empty!" It's bullshit, he knows it is, most of the fun is in waiting for the zinging responses she sends back at him.

Angelina stops for a second as Jack laughs. Then she smiles. "Well, I'm sure that'd make you a normal man. Or at least, an average teenage male student at Hogwarts." She knows he's got nothing, and to be honest, it pleases her that he makes up these crazy things sometimes. Not to mention that it's amusing.

"Hey, we've been over this - I'm much more than the average," Jack says with an easy grin. "Do you have any preferences on something you'd want to do?" he asks. He knows that for a second date he's going to have to pull out something a couple of steps up from their previous drink in Hogsmeade and he's fairly certain he's up to the challenge, but he wants to make sure he's not ignoring anything she'd like to do in his haste to make it a good date.

Angelina grins too, although somehow she is now a little bit more nervous now that she's agreed to another date. "No, not really. I can't say I really even know what to expect - can you believe it, I've never been on a second date before? Because it's true." She really hasn't, and has no idea what one would do, nor what she should expect from a second date. What's the protocol for that anyway?

How the fuck is Mya meant to know? She's never been on a second date either. *blinks*

Jack grins, keeping all his wittiest remarks to himself because he can tell Angelina is a bit nervous and after her confession he doesn't want to put her off or give her reason to change her mind. "Lucky me, getting the honour of your first-second-date," he says simply. He stops for a moment, regarding Angelina as they sit side by side, smile still on his face. Finally, he speaks. "Since we're sharing, I'm going to share something with you. You've never been on a first date? I haven't flown a broom since they forced us to in first year. I'd really love to learn from an expert, if you would teach me," he says smoothly. It's true, he hasn't really had reason to fly since he took the class, and he hopes that by putting the date back into her turf, so to speak, she'll be more comfortable and able to have a good time.

Angelina blushes again, smiling warmly at Jack still. "Thank you." She says in simple reply. Then her jaw drops, jut a little. "Really? Not even once?" Like most people with things they do naturally, it never occurred to Angelina that Jack might not be a natural on a broomstick. "Actually, I'd be honoured. That sounds fantastic. As long as you're not lying and just want a chance to try and show me up. You haven't secretly been trying out for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, have you?"

Jack shakes his head. "Not even once," he confirms, and contemplates crossing his heart so she will know how serious he is. "I don't even have a broomstick, I'll borrow one from the school lot. I promise, you're the flying expert. Besides, if I was up there in the air beating your team, how could I be watching you play?" Jack suspects that having to actually play quidditch would severely hinder the best thing about it; the view of very fit people on broomsticks.

Angelina smiles. "Well, I'll take your word for it." She says. "That you can, or I can borrow one of the Weasley's brooms - they're not that amazing, but they're better than the school ones. I'm sure one of the twins would lend me one. But trust me, playing is way better than watching." The thought doesn't cross into Angelina's mind that he might be going to games to perv on people, because she's such an innocent.

"Well, if you think so, sure. If they wouldn't mind, that is," Jack says easily, not fussed either way but appreciating the thoughts. Besides, he'd not say no to a better broom if it was offered. He finishes his cake and winks. "Oh, I'm quite happy just staying a spectator. For now, at least. Even though I do agree on principle that playing is better than watching." Of course, Jack is making a sexual reference, but without placing any inferences on the words so it may remain completely innocent in Angelina's mind. Nothing is ever innocent in Jack's mind, though, so it's hard for him to judge sometimes.

"I'm sure they wouldn't - and besides, they pretty much always owe me a favour, the number of secrets I keep for them." Angelina says, then she blinks. Perhaps the twins wouldn't really appreciate the fact that she was saying this; not that they would ever know. "Right, sure you do." Unbeknownst to Jack, she does pick up on at least part of the implication - that he likes watching her fly, and it makes her perk up a little, and to be honest, turn her on just a bit.

"Sounds promising," Jack says with a playful smirk. "Anyway, when can I book a few hours of your precious time, Miss Johnson?" he asks, hoping that she will be free as soon as possible so they can have their second date.

"Well Mr. Smith," Angelina began, "I have a few hours now, if you can't possibly wait. After all, they do say there is no time like the present, whoever 'they' are. Unless that is too soon, and you'd rather leave me in suspense for a few more days." And she smiles sweetly, wondering if he'll ever get enough of her. To be honest, she doubts it. And she adores that fact - no guy has ever been so keen to spend time with her before.

"Well, if you're not going to keep me in suspense, how could I possibly refuse? My afternoon is yours, do as you will with it," Jack smirks, standing. He's more than ready to go. "Shall we head down to the pitch now, then, since you're so keen to get started?"

Angelina grins. "The whole afternoon? What could I possibly do which could keep you occupied that whole time?" She leaves that question completely open, knowing what Jack will do when he hears it, and hoping that he won't possibly assume that that might be part of what she is, in fact, implying. Once again, not that she will admit it. "Okay, well, I just have to duck up to the dorm and grab my broom - and one of the twins' too - so I'll meet you down there in say, 15 minutes?" She stands, grabbing her bag, already ready to head off, but waiting for Jack's reply before she does.

"You, Angelina," Jack announces, smirking, with no doubts as to what she's up to, "Are an awful tease. See you soon," he says, winking and sauntering off towards the quidditch pitch to await his lesson.

Angelina watches him go. She's still not really sure where they stand - date number two, and she has no idea what she's doing. All she knows is that she likes Jack, finds him attractive, and likes spending time with him. She supposes that at least she won't have to wait to find out about second date etiquette, as she follows him out of the Great Hall, making a beeline for the Gryffindor Tower with a speedy walk.
