"Maybe you should get yourself a nice little rotor of lines, just to keep it interesting," she says, a genuine smile breaking out over her face as he reaches across the table and takes her hand, her green eyes lingering on his blue ones for a few seconds before she simply shrugs. "It wasn't fun, and maybe the whole disaster could've been avoided if Potter and Black didn't insist on being such bullying gits, but better to know what someone really thinks than be left with a false impression, right? Sev was always fascinated by the Dark Arts, so I suppose it was always going to come between us at some point," she says, and takes another bite of her pizza to shut herself up on this depressing topic because she's probably boring her date to death now.

"Actually, the rotor is a good idea!" He smiles back at her. He pauses a moment to admire her gorgeous green eyes. Okay, so that might have been a long moment. "Black? So you mean Sirius?" He rolls his eyes. "Yep, not the best people to be around, I think." He says, taking a drink with his spare hand before reaching for his third slice of pizza. And don't worry, it takes more than that to bore Gideon Prewett. Mhm.

Lily is more than happy to let that moment drag out for as long as she can, one eyebrow arching in curiosity as Gideon rolls his eyes. "Yes, Sirius Black. You know him?" she wonders aloud. "He's a... well, the term he uses is 'friend', but I'm more inclined to say 'acquaintance and borderline stalker at times'. He seems harmless and he says he just wants to be friends, but he's Potter's best friend so it's hard not to be a little suspicious of his motives," Lily admits, wondering if that sounds incredibly bitchy now that she's admitted her thoughts out loud. She puts her slice of pizza down for a moment to take a drink without removing her other hand from Gideon's.

Gideon likes to let that moment linger also. "Yeah, I know him. I don't think we've ever been introduced, though. I just caught him snogging my sister when a) she's my sister, and b) Sirius was supposedly with my other sister. So yeah, I'd kinda like to punch him in the face. But I'm sure he's such a great guy." He says the last sentence very very sarcastically. "I would think that you would have good reason to doubt his motives." He noms the piece of pizza in his hand, still with a smile on his face.

"Oh. Well, I'd like to say that doesn't sound like Sirius, but that would be a whopping great lie," Lily says blandly as she picks up her pizza again, pausing in the conversation while she has another mouthful. "I don't mean to be so judgmental of him without proof that he's up to something, but someone so close to Potter automatically puts me on red alert, I suppose. He's done some pretty ridiculous things to try and get attention in the past, something like this would only be the latest," she mutters, a little scowl settling over her face despite the fact that she'd rather keep the conversation on a happier note.

~~Gideon suddenly stands up and exclaims, pointing somewhere far away, "Oh look! A distraction!" before sitting down again.~~

"Yeah, I've heard a few things about him," Gideon says, a little darkly. "Potter? Well, I'm sure he'll get the message eventually... I hope he does, for your sake, anyway. It must be tiresome having a man chasing after you all the time - oh, but I'm sure you're used to it by now! You must have many men after you all the time!" He grins, finishing his pizza and winking at her, and taking a long swig of his Butterbeer before realising it too was finished. Oh well. He's not moving right now, not seeing as Lily still hasn't let go of his hand.

Lily would like to point out that Gideon has it backwards and it's he that has yet to let go of her hand. She's not complaining though. She flushes a little and looks away, because no, no that's not really the case. "Actually, mysterious and humiliating things tend to happen to anyone who shows an interest," she says, a little shyly. "Should I have warned you of that? I figured you could handle it," she says with a little smile, but really she just didn't want him to change his mind. She finishes her slice of pizza and her own drink and bites her lip again as she looks across the table at Gideon, just enjoying the company.

"Oh, do they?" Gideon says, seemingly intrigued. "You know what, though - I think I might be up to the challenge. What do you think?" He winks at her again. There is no way he was changing his mind - not when she keeps biting her lip like that, at any rate. Damn, girl. All this lip-biting and acting-coy has Gideon temporarily dumbstruck, so he just puts his head on his spare hand and gazes at her.

Lily just nods and gives a little one-shouldered shrug. "Zonkos gets a lot of business from Potter and Black, I hear. I'm pretty sure you could handle it, though," she says, her eyes sparkling and her lips curving upwards slightly. After quite a few seconds of him simply gazing at her with apparently no intention of stopping, Lily starts to feel the silence and she fidgets slightly, her eyes glancing between their finished meal and the door. "Shall we? We've got a package to send," she says, her eyes straying to the bag of sugar still sitting on the table.

Gideon blinks, coming back to reality. "Funnily enough, that doesn't surprise me. Either of those." He says, grinning some more. "Oh, yeah, sure. We could head to the Owlery, if you like?" He stands up, grabbing the sugar bag and pulling Lily up gently, not letting go of her hand. He grabs some more money from his pocket, placing it on the table as he stands.

"Sounds like a plan," Lily says, smiling as he pulls her gently to her feet. She doesn't want to be the first to pull away, so she leaves her hand resting comfortably in his as they make their way towards the exit and along the path back to Hogwarts and the owlery.
