Re: The Stone Steps
Caradoc burst out laughing, shaking his head at Fabian. "You're saying the cure to my creative block is a beret? Well, if it'll make you happy, I'll wear a beret, if you can find me one. Perhaps the next time we hang out, you can bring one along," he joked, trying to imagine himself in a fancy beret as he lifts the guitar into his lap and let his eyes wander down Fabian's body for the briefest moment, then flicker back up to meet his friend's gaze, wondering how one man could be so amazingly beautiful-- wait, what? Shut up, brain! Tristan isn't right.
Re: The Stone Steps
Fabian nodded, grinning all the while. "Precisely. And I'm seventy three percent sure I have a blue one that would totally bring out your eyes." He thought for a moment to mention just how gorgeous Caradoc's eyes were, but decided against it. He didn't want Caradoc to think that he was like, obsessed with his eyes or something. Ahaha... ha. He wasn't. Stop looking at him like that. He wasn't. He looked at the guitar, then Caradoc again, a bit expectantly. "Has inspiration struck? Do you know what to play?"
Re: The Stone Steps
"Blue sounds nice," he said with a smile, before glancing back down at his guitar, and zoning out for a moment, before he was brought back to reality by Fabian's voice. "Huh, what? Oh, right," he murmured, gazing at Fabian again, as a small smile creeped onto his face. "Yeah, you know what, I think I might have a song now," he said, pulling a guitar pick out of his pocket, and beginning to strum lightly on his guitar, then starting the first verse with a soft voice, the smile lingering on his lips as he kept his eyes on Fabian. "Lately I'm alright, and lately I'm not scared, I've figured out that what you do to me feels like I'm floating on air. I don't need to know right now, all I know is I believe in the very thing that got us here, and now I can't leave. So say anything, but say what you mean, 'cause I'm caught in suspension."

Re: The Stone Steps
Fabian observed Caradoc's playing, his face blank as he took everything in. 'He looks so happy,' he thought, a smile spreading on his own lips. It was hard not to smile around Caradoc, especially as he played. It was like you could tell he honestly enjoyed playing guitar, and it made you start to enjoy it, too. He bounced along to the music and tried not to concentrate too much on how gorgeous Caradoc looked or how his smile made Fabian want to melt into a mile of goo.
Re: The Stone Steps
Caradoc felt his heart racing as Fabian returned his smile, and continued to play, hoping and wondering if Fabian would see that it wasn't just any song-- this song was for him. He hadn't written it down, but somehow, the words were just flowing, and they fit perfectly with the music he'd written some years back, but had never managed to put words to until now. "Now, I'm wanting this for sure, and I'll beg for nothing more, I'll plan all day and drive all night, oh you'll love what's in store. I can't seem to stop this now, even if it's not so clear, and I'll take what I can get, if you want me here..." he sang, pausing for a moment as he watched Fabian's face, before continuing into the chorus, encouraged by those eyes and lips, that he'd spent so much time daydreaming about these days. "Say anything, but say what you mean, when you whisper you want this. Your eyes tell the same-- we are gaining speed, I can barely breathe, 'cause I'm caught in suspension. It's enough for me to get excited, it's enough for me to feel, oh!"
Re: The Stone Steps
Fabian liked this. Not just listening to Caradoc, (although that was something he enjoyed greatly,) but just being with him, in his prescence. They could, like, rob a bank and Fabian would like it, just because Caradoc was there. Otherwise, he was totally anti-bank robbing. He felt like what Caradoc was singing was coming from his heart, and while he knew it wasn't-- it could never be--about him, he could pretend, even if only for a moment. And it wasn't like that was weird or anything, right? I mean, he just liked the way his heart would beat a little faster and get a little more nervous around Caradoc. Like an adrenaline junkie or something... Only different, because riding a broomstick higher than your nerves wanted you to could barely compete with the flipping that Fabian's stomach and heart would do around Caradoc.

Re: The Stone Steps
[Nope, just one, and I fixed it!]
Caradoc sang the rest of the song, finally finishing with one last repeat of the chorus, with his eyes twinkling and his heart pounding, as he watched Fabian watching him, still hoping and wishing that Fabian might see what he was trying to tell him, but couldn't let himself say aloud and directly to him. No, not yet, I can't-- this isn't right, I shouldn't be thinking about you like this, it isn't me, it isn't like me at all, I'm not supposed to feel like this, Fabian, but I do, I do, he thought, as his fingers played the notes that went along with his song. "Say anything, but say what you mean, when you whisper you want this, for your eyes tell the same. We are gaining speed, suspension, I can barely breathe, Oh, please say what you mean, I'm caught in suspension, suspension, I'm caught in suspension," he finished, letting the guitar pick fall from his fingers as he gazed longingly at Fabian, wishing he had the strength and decisiveness that he needed, to decide what he wanted more-- the life he was used to leading, or a chance with Fabian.

Re: The Stone Steps
"Wow. Just... Wow." He shook his head in disbelief. "You are so talented. I'm almost sad it's over, but it was perfect. It sounded like you were singing it to me." He complimented, unaware of the truth behind it. "I love watching you play," he confessed, his cheeks turning a light pink as he thought about how stupid he sounded. "I mean... It--It's just that you totally come alive, but you're so relaxed and it's just... It's brilliant. You're brilliant." His eyes widened as he noticed what he had said. "At, you know. Guitar." He tacked on. He cast his eyes downward and saw the close proximity of their hands. He resisted the urge to reach out and grab Caradoc's--that would be weird, right?--and instead just offered a smile.
Re: The Stone Steps
Caradoc nearly outright laughed at Fabian's words, instead flashing his brightest smile, his stomach turning over as he watched the color return to Fabian's cheeks, giving him that sweet, innocent, and rosy look that he adored so much on him. He noticed when Fabian's eyes flickered down to their hands, and sighed softly when he didn't make the move to reach for Caradoc himself, causing Rad to hesitate from doing it himself, but after a moment of consideration he changed his mind, placing his guitar on the steps beside him. Taking a deep breath, he gently took Fabian's hand in his own and met the other man's eyes, gazing at him intently for another moment, before speaking. "Fabian, I was singing it to you," he admitted in a quiet voice, his lips twitching into a smile once more as he said the words.
Re: The Stone Steps
Fabian's eyes widened for a moment, but then realized what Caradoc was saying. After all, he couldn't mean the same thing Fabian had meant. 'But... But maybe,' Fabian thought, before shaking the thought out of his mind. 'No. No, we are not on the same page. Don't get your hopes up, Fabian... Not that you like him, or anything. No. I mean, it's not like I would have anything I would want to hope for, right? Right. So, how can my hopes be raised if there isn't anything to hope for? Yeah. That's what I thought. Don't have any answers for me now, do you, Brain? ...Oh Merlin, I'm losing my mind. I blame the sheep. I blame Caradoc. I blame the sudden heat wave that's making my cheeks all red. Maybe... Maybe I really do have an allergic reaction to Caradoc. And, and that would be why my heart beats to quickly, and it gets harder to breathe and my cheeks get red! Yes. Yes, that is it completely. Good job, Fabian. Mystery solved.' "Oh, well of course you were singing it to me," he said. "But I think you misunderstood. I meant--erm, that you know... You were singing it about me." He bit his lower lip, a bit nervously. No, not a bit, really. More like a lot.
Re: The Stone Steps
Caradoc sighed, unsure if he was even doing the right thing anymore, in telling Fabian how he felt-- maybe it would be best just to let it go, while he still could, and just walk away, before things got messy. Could he have been reading Fabian's signs wrong, this whole time? Did Fabian feel something too, or didn't he? Fuck, this is why I'm not supposed to feel like this, it's all too fucking confusing, it wasn't meant to be like this, I'm supposed to be Rad, the one who fucks, the one who smokes, the one who plays guitar and has his fun, I'm not supposed to be the one who wants to just touch you, just kiss you, just hold you, dammit, and tell you the truth-- I can't, I shouldn't, I-- "I was, Fabian," he murmured, his voice a barely audible whisper, as he let go of Fabian's hand, and got to his feet, picking up his guitar as well. "I should-- I should go," he said, shoving his guitar in the case and snapping it shut quickly, looking down at Fabian with a smile on his face still. For better or for worse, I've told you all I can for now, it's too late to go back-- but I feel better for it, at least for now. "I'll see you around, Fabian," he said, turning on heel and walking speedily back into the castle.
Re: The Stone Steps
And then Fabian was left staring at the spot where Caradoc just was with his mouth agape and eyes wide. He... Did he... But... He couldn't... Fabian was... And Caradoc was... He felt lightheaded. He needed to sit down. But he was already sitting. He tried to stand, or move, or even blink, but it was as if Caradoc has just turned him to stone and left him there. Some time past with Fabian's thoughts clouded and swirling and far too confusing. He... He needed to get out of here. He had to stop thinking. He needed food or clothes... Or maybe both. So he walked away, his legs moving without his consent and feeling the strangest mix of emotions.
Re: The Stone Steps
Caradoc grins when he sees that gorgeous boy from the other day walking over. "Hey there, Peter. How's it going?" he asked, pausing on the steps, and looking like this. Oh, what's that? Sorry, I couldn't hear you over all the sexy.
Re: The Stone Steps
Peter is a little in awe of the sexy but hides it well. "Not bad, not bad. Just been hanging around and reading a lot, you?"
Re: The Stone Steps
"Not too much," he said, shrugging and grinning at Peter, which is kind of a big deal, just saying, given how little he's been smiling in my head lately. "You're lookin' cute today," he said, smiling as he took a step toward Peter.
Re: The Stone Steps
Peter Simles. "Why thank you. I must say that you are looking rather sexy yourself." He winks at Rad and tries his best to look all innocent. "But then again you always do."
Re: The Stone Steps
"Why, aren't you a sweet thing," he said teasingly, smirking down at his acquaintance. "Thanks, Peter. So, how've you been? It's been some time since I last saw you-- anything more exciting than reading in your life? A boyfriend, perhaps?" Oh, really dances around the subject, doesn't he? Caradoc, can you get any more blunt? Oh, probably. -facepalms-
Re: The Stone Steps
Peter doesn't mind blunt. "No, wheres the fun in being stuck to one person? but i object to you implying that reading isn't exciting." he smiles cheekily up a Rad still trying to hold up the pretense of inocence.
Re: The Stone Steps
Caradoc is making lewd comments in Eowyn's head about innocent being sexy, and the such. Snape called him a pedophile and now he's slapping him, oh great. MY HEAD IS A WEIRD PLACE. "Oh, I'm sure reading is plenty exciting--I was merely implying that there can be much more exciting things in your life," he said, winking at him.
Re: The Stone Steps
"I'm sure there could if the right person where to come along and offer more interesting things." Peter winked back and ducked his head a little.

Re: The Stone Steps
"The right person? And what must one do, to qualify for that position?" he asked suggestively, leaning down to whisper in Peter's ear. "I can think of a few things to make your life a little more exciting," he murmured, letting his lips brush the boy's neck tauntingly.
Re: The Stone Steps
"One must simple smile nicely and have a good offer to give." Peter shiver a little at the light contact. "I'm most certain that you could where you so inclined." Peter smiles again
Re: The Stone Steps
Caradoc laughed lightly at that, tilting Peter's chin up with his fingers to meet his own bright blue eyes. "Smile nicely? That I can do," he said, flashing him the best smile he could manage for the moment, because his best smile will forever be the property of one Fabian Prewett. "As for the offer, I think my own will suffice to be merely implied, unless of course, you'd like me to go into some verbal detail, in which case I'd be happy to provide a description."
