Audrey giggled, "I wish. It's taken me almost three months just to stabilize this one. I bet if you approached McGonagall now she would let you do all your research over the summer. You could do do much more!" She wants to help her friend have everything she does eventually, she didn't have any of this her seventh year. She just took impossible classes and hooked up with random guys.

Hermione blushes and looks away. "Sometimes I get the feeling that when I approach them asking for more work, the Professors all pinch their noses and develop migraines until I stop badgering them and go away. Maybe I'll just do some research on my own and come back to her with a portfolio of possible research projects. If I'm lucky, I could get more than one done before NEWTs."

Audrey smiled, "I'm sure they don't. I'm pretty sure I'm the most annoying student Slughorn has ever had but when I went to talk to him about my project he was nothing but helpful, I think they love us when we get to the upper levels and really take an interest in their subjects. You're McGonagall's princess. And if you could do more than one that would be incredible!"

"Alright," Hermione says with a tiny smile. "Tell you what - I'll go to McGonagall this year and see if I can't begin sooner rather than later and if she doesn't look vaguely annoyed, I'll owe you a butterbeer. I know Slughorn would be nothing but helpful to you - the man loves flattery more than Lockhart did after all, but McGonagall is just a little more down to earth, I think."

Audrey giggled, "He really does, a little pinapple works wonders. I bet if you brought McGonagall something it would help. Might I suggest catnip?"

Hermione bursts into giggles before clapping a hand over her mouth, looking thoroughly scandalised. "Audrey Stevenson," she gasps. "You know Professor McGonagall would never accept a bribe in any form. Goodness, I'd love to see someone send her some anonymously though, just to see her face. She might be excited enough to raise an eyebrow."

Audrey laughed with her friend, "Next year I'll send her some, when she can't expell me." She laughed again, "But you'll have to get Creevey to take photos for me. I want to see that eyebrow twitch." She laughed again, leaning against her friend.

"No," Hermione says, shaking her head, "There's nothing like the live action experience. Magic some onto her plate when Dumbledore is giving his final address before the leaving feast," she advises. As Audrey leans into her, Hermione kisses her temple in a show of friendly affection and gratitude. She always could count on Audrey to keep her going, without Viktor Hermione would just have to be conscious of trying to spend more time with Audrey and Angelina and the few other good friends she had. She gives the Ravenclaw a light nudge and climbs to her feet. "Come on - my bum is freezing here, let's go inside," she says, because all she wants to do is curl up on one of those comfy couches in Gryffindor tower and watch the fire for a little while.

Audrey giggled, "Okay when I have a diploma in my hand." She hugged Hermione when she leaned in then stood up with her, "Oh ye of the weak bottom." She giggled and grabbed Hermione's hand to pull her inside. Once in she gave her friend a hug and sent her off to her common room as Audrey herself wandered off somewhere else.

Lavender is sitting on the stone steps wrapped in a big coat. This is where she had first met Jack, so she was back here life and how much of a drastic change there was. And she really wanted to know what happened to Parvati. She hadn't seen her best friend in ages, and she really needed her right now. Especially after the whole thing with Seamus. She sighed heavily and put her head in her hands.

Louis was wandering the grounds, getting some fresh air and trying to clear his head after a study session. He noticed someone sitting up on the steps and when he walked closer he realized it was Lavender. She looked upset and his heart went out to her. He knew he probably shouldn't talk to her, but he still cared about her. So he walked up to her and stood in front of her, clearing his throat a little awkwardly. "You uhh, okay?"

Lavender freezes when she hears Louis talk to her. She knew it was him instantly. She slowly raised her head to look him in the eye, her heart stopping for a brief moment. "Uhh, not really actually." She bit her lip as she continued to just stare at him, for once not sure what to say.

Lavender sighed and looked over at him. "Um. I don't really know what to say. I feel terrible though Louis. Like the worst kind of terrible. And I'm sad because I don't know where Parvati is. So, it's like I'm missing a lot in my life right now and it kind of sucks."

Lavender let her hold his hand for a brief moment before pulling it away. "Thanks Louis. You shouldn't care for me though. What I did was heartless and irresponsible. I don't even know how you can stand to even look at me right now." She looked down at her feet.

He dropped his head and then pulled himself up to sit next to the girl on the steps. He wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close "look, I'm trying not to think about it right now. All I see right now is a girl I care about who's hurt and upset and I want to help."

Lavender glanced over at Louis with a small smile. "And I appreciate that. But it'll be heard for you not to think about that, since that's the reason I'm upset. I guess I just...don't really know where we stand. Obviously we're able to talk still, but I know I'll never be able to get over what I did."

Louis frowned at her words but he hugged her again. "I'm not really sure where we are either. I'm still hurting about everything, but like I said, I still really care about you. I can't really help that."

Lavender returned the hug with one arm. "Well, I suppose we need to figure that stuff out before we're able to move forward with our lives, right? I had another run in with Seamus as well, and it's just not helping with the confusion at all. Just can't believe I'm hurting two of the the nicest guys I've ever met." She sighed heavily.

Louis' stomach turned at the mention of Seamus, but pulled Lavender all the more closer to him. "If you need me to step out of the way for a while, I can do that. You need to figure out yourself and what you want before I can let myself really trust you again. I'll always be here for you though Lavender." he kissed her gently on the top of the head

Lavender sighed. "Louis, you need to stop being so nice. I know there's no way that you are at all okay with not only what I did, but also with the mention of Seamus. Why are you being so....I don't know. I guess just nice and proper about all this?"

He pulled back from her to look at her. "You're right. I feel absolutely wretched inside. But you're someone that I happen to care about deeply about and no matter how hard I try, I can't get you outta my head Lavender. And I was raised to take care of girls I care about. So whenever you need me, I'll be here for you. But I think we should try and distance ourselves from each other for a little while. You need to figure out where your head is at." he gave her what he hoped was a small smile
