Re: The Stone Steps
For some reason, Lavender was a bit relieved to hear that Louis felt 'wretched inside'. "Yeah. Yeah I think you're right. It's probably for the best anyways. And I think you deserve to find someone that won't be as heartless as me. You know, someone that will actually appreciate how much you care. Not saying that I don't appreciate you, it's just- complicated I guess." She sighed and tried to return the small smile.
Re: The Stone Steps
he sighed and pulled his arm from around her shoulder and clasped his hands. "I get what you're trying to say." He smiled a little wider at her stumbling over her words. it comforted him a little in some odd way. "Just know you're not heartless. I just think you need to figure stuff out. I'll always be here for you Lavender. Just let me know what you figure out okay?"

Re: The Stone Steps
Lavender bit her lip, always a sign of anxiousness. "Okay. I will. And you take time to think about everything as well." She wasn't going to disagree with Louis when he said she wasn't heartless, because she knew she was and wasn't going to start that argument.

[SO SORRY. OMG. I'M A FAIL. POSTING NOW]
Louis nodded, staring at the ground in thought "I will. Just please promise me you'll come to me if you ever need anything" he kissed the side of her head before standing up and looking at her for an answer.

[<3]
Lavender blushed a little when Louis kissed her cheek. She looked up at him and nodded. "Right. Yeah. I will." She was of course lying. She wouldn't burden him with her problems anymore. He had taken all of this better than anyone could have expected, and Lav felt as if she would be like a poison to him if she was around him. He was too nice of a guy to be around someone like Lavender. She gave Louis one last smile, trying her best to make it convincing, before turning to the front and staring out at the grounds.

Louis sighed. he knew her better than that. He stepped in front of her and leaned down, putting his hands on her shoulders, "Right, because that was convincing. I know you Lav, come on, please promise me. I want to help" A concerned expression crossed his face

Re: The Stone Steps
Dammit, why did she have to be so easy to read. Lavender felt tears build up in her eyes, but held them back before they betrayed her. She shook her head a little. "You can't help. I've got this. I made this mess, I need to work it out on my own. I'd only be hurting you more if I continued you let you try to help me." She shrugged and looked down.
Re: The Stone Steps
Louis sighed and squatted down so he was at eye level with the girl. He took her hands in his "maybe that's true, but maybe I don't care. I want to be there for you okay? You don't really get a say in this" he tried to lighten her up with a smile

[Sorry! I keep getting distracted....]
Lavender sighed. "Louis, you don't have to do this. You don't have to be so nice. But thanks, I suppose." She glanced up at him and gave him a weak smile.

[it's okay! i'm trying to finish up a bit of homework xD]
He gave her a bigger smile "but i want to. so you can't stop me," he hoped to lighten her mood a little bit. He stood up, hoping she'd really heard him. "you're welcome. I'm here for you anytime. and I mean that. Please don't hesitate in asking me for any help okay?"

Re: The Stone Steps
Lavender put on her game face before she looked up, this time she would be convincing. "I will. I promise. If I need someone to talk to, I'll find you." She smiled widely up at him, feeling better about her lying abilities.
Re: The Stone Steps
Louis sighed internally, he still wasn't fully convinced, but it would have to do for now. She would come to him in her own time "okay. I'm holding you to that Lavender Brown" he gave her a smile smile and brushed a bit of hair away from her face behind her ear, his hand lingering a little on the side of her face before he pulled it back. "I should probably finish studying. Think about things Lavender, and I'll always be here for you."

Re: The Stone Steps
Lavender sighed too and looked up at him with big eyes. "Yeah. Thanks Louis. For...everything. I'll see you soon then." She gave him another big smile and kept it there.
Re: The Stone Steps
He nodded and headed back to the castle, looking back at Lavender, hoping she would come to him for help if she needed it. He would miss her.

Re: The Stone Steps
Arthur walks down the stone steps excitedly, carrying a football he borrowed from Ted and a Muggle children's magazine about football. He flips open to a page on dribbling the ball, carefully examining the brightly colored diagram. He place the ball in front of him and the magazine on the steps before attempting to dribble the ball. He does a few awkward kicks between his feet before tripping and falling to the ground.

Re: The Stone Steps
Molly slips out of the castle, eager for some fresh air and sunshine. She spots Arthur and smiles, clamping down on a giggle as she watches him study the magazine intently, then try so very hard to emulate the diagrams. It's endearing. Then Arthur trips and falls, and all amusement is gone from Molly, concern replacing mirth. She flies to his side much faster than most people would manage in six inch heels. "Are you alright?" she breathes, crouching down next to him.

Re: The Stone Steps
Arthur rubs the back of his head; it's a bit sore and there will definitely be a bump there later. He is seriously reconsidering his decision to practice football near concrete when he hears a voice from beside him. He looks to see Molly Prewett peering nervously down at him. He notices her high heels - how could women walk in those those? "I'm okay," Arthur says, mustering up a smile. He shifts his weight to his left elbow as he turns to face her. "Just a little trip. How are you?"

Re: The Stone Steps
"I'm fine. Never mind me, you've hit your head. You could have, like, a concussion or something. Here, let me look," she fusses, moving around so that she can gently probe the back of his head to determine if there's any blood, and what kind of swelling might occur. Whipping out her wand from her bag, she whispers a quick soothing charm. "There - that should feel a little better. Mind you don't go, like, busting it again though because it's totally going to be tender."

Re: The Stone Steps
Arthur blushes as Molly begins to mother him; it's sweet and makes Arthur feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He sits up after Molly casts her spell, rubbing the back of his head. "Thanks," he says. "It feels loads of better. And I don't think I'm going to try that one again. Ted said that the magazine should be safe for a beginner like me, but I guess I'm just a special case. But how are you, Molly?"

Re: The Stone Steps
"Well next time I see Ted, I'll be having, like, super stern words with him," Molly giggles, moving back a little as Arthur rights himself. "And no worries. I'm alright," she says, shrugging because that pretty much sums it up for her. She's still not quite back to her completely bubbly and happy self, but she's definitely through the worst of her post breakup blues. She smiles quickly, because she doesn't want to seem like a complete buzzkill.

Re: The Stone Steps
"Don't be mad at Ted," Arthur says. "This magazine is meant from little kids. Not that I don't love it - all the cartoons and talking footieballs are amazing. I think a regular footsieball magazine would bore me - I like pictures in my books." Arthur blushes after he says this - liking picture books isn't something you want to share with a girl you like and want to appear smart in front of.

Re: The Stone Steps
"Pictures are, like, totally awesome," Molly enthuses. "That's the best thing about fashion magazines. And recipe books. A recipe book, like, isn't worth half as much if there's no pictures in it! And maybe you should just practice on softer ground or something. The grass is a lot nicer now that the snow's all melted anyway. Ugh, I love the snow at the start of winter but by the end of it I am so totally sick of it!"

Re: The Stone Steps
"I probably should have practiced on the grass, but I don't always think about those kinds of things," Arthur says. He feels much better about his love of picture books after Molly expressed her love for pictures too. "And I'm so glad the snow's gone. I love spring - it's my favorite season. You can work outside without it being too hot - I always start a new project around this time."

Re: The Stone Steps
Molly giggles, because Arthur's obliviousness to common sense is adorable and, if Molly is completely honest with herself, not unlike Molly herself at times. She doesn't always think things through either. Well, not with earth logic, anyway. "I don't mind summer - there's no school and when it's too hot I just, like, go to the mall and there's air conditioning," she says, twirling a strand of hair about her finger and smiling brightly. "What kind of projects o you like to start?" she wonders, figuring that they're probably a little different to her own knitting and baking expeditions.

Re: The Stone Steps
"I like tinkering and building things. Last year, I took apart a Muggle radio and put it back together to see if I could get it to connect to both the Wizarding Wireless and all the Muggle stations. It turned out okay; the signal for both was intermitten unless you were in a magically neutral area. It went haywire anytime I brought it near my house. Actually, this year I'm using your idea about the clock - the one that would give you the location of different family members," Arthur says proudly. He thinks about all the different clock parts he'll need to get from either a thrift store or the local dump when he remember that Molly liked the mall. "Do you go to the Muggle malls? I find them so fascinating, but I get so lost everytime I'm in one."
