"No of course not." He said with a bright smile. "Let's go." He said as he grabbed the bag of books and stuff off of the bench and grabbed her hand in his free hand.

Angelina Johnson wrote:Angelina sees his head shaking, and smiles a little inside at his reluctance. She is quite pleased that just for once, a guy is showing interest in her, and not only that, but he's not scared off by her. Because she can be a little scary. It's the black part of her, and I don't even care if that's racist. "Oh, sure! I don't mind - I don't really have anywhere else I have to rush off to. Aren't you lucky?" She asks with a smirk, as she begins walking towards it.
Jack grins as he and Angelina walk side-by-side into the park, him letting his hand brush hers on occasion but not taking hold of it. Maybe he will later, but right now it just seems like a bit of a lame move and he's still convinced she won't hesitate to attack if he crosses any lines. "Pretty lucky," he agrees with another smile and a wink. He bites back a whole slew of comments about his prospects of getting lucky, because those comments would pretty much send his prospects plummeting straight down to hell. "So you cleared a whole afternoon in your busy schedule for me? I'm flattered."

Re: A Nearby Park
Angelina can feel Jack's hand brushing against her as they walk, but she makes no move - she really doesn't know how to act, so she's leaving it up to Jack. Maybe a bad decision, but she feels like she may kind of have him running scared, just a little, and figures she safe and won't get molested. "Oh, well, you shouldn't be, really. My schedule may actually be less busy than I let on..." She teases, as they reach the park, and she takes a seat on the bench.

"I knew it," Jack smirks, and takes a seat beside her. He sits close, but not so close that he's invading her space, and turns his body a little so he's facing her as they sit. "Nobody can have that much Quidditch scheduled into their week! The human body is just not made to spend that long on a broomstick, surely," he teases right back.

Re: A Nearby Park
"Sure you did, sure you did," Angelina smiles, blushing a little at their closeness, but not really enough for Jack to notice. It might just be flushing due to the breeze. Let's go with that. "Sure they can. I have training every second day, and I try and practice every other day, so I'm practically flying every day. And can you please spare me the broom jokes? I have to say, they're more than a little old."

Re: A Nearby Park
Jack does a decent impression of someone looking offended. "Me? Broomstick jokes? Never! Too easy," he says with a wink, noticing the tiny hint of flushing in Angelina's face with a slight grin. "So what is it about flying that does it for you, then?" he wonders. Having never really caught the flying bug himself, Jack doesn't really understand the appeal.

Re: A Nearby Park
"Jack," Angelina says seriously, "everyone does broomstick jokes. Perhaps you can hide them better than some other people, but everyone does them. And no matter how well they're hidden, they're still just about the lamest jokes known to mankind." Then she shrugs. "Wizardkind, perhaps. I can't speak for the Muggles. They'll make a joke out of just about anything, even Japanese golfers, I've heard." At Jack's last question, she pauses, looking around the park at the scenery and the castle in the distance before she replies. "Well, apart from the fact I'm good at it, I've been flying for a long time; well before I started at Hogwarts. And it's like... Freedom. Pure freedom."

Re: A Nearby Park
"Really? Even lamer than 'that's what she said' jokes? Those are usually pretty terrible, Angelina," Jack says with a smile. Because they really, really are. Even though Mya usually laughs, because she is a child. He pauses, considering. "I suppose there is something inherently funny about Japanese golfers..." He trails off, watching Angelina's face change as she talks about flying. He grins. Somehow she just got more alluring. "Sounds amazing," he says simply, because what else can he say? 'Oh yeah, sometimes a great orgasm feels like that to me'? Not likely.

"Well, to be honest I don't hear to many of the 'that's what she said' jokes. They are bad, though. I must be just surrounded by broomstick jokes," Angelina admits. AJ doesn't usually laugh because usually they're not funny at all. At. All. "Maybe, but what is so amusing I'm just not sure. And it is. Have you never flown at all before?"

"Well, a pretty girl like you riding around on a broomstick all day is bound to hear a million broomstick jokes; we boys don't like to admit it, but a sight like that really impacts on our ability to think straight you know," he confides, leaning closer as if he doesn't want the rest of his gender to know he's betraying possibly one of the worst kept secrets in history. He winks slightly and leans back again. "I can fly, I'm really not bad at it actually. I just don't have that connection with it that you Quidditch players seem to."

Re: A Nearby Park
"I'm sure it does," she says teasingingly, "and that's another like I obviously never heard before. But, if it's any consolation I've never heard it on a date before..." She says, blushing quite obviously this time. "Well, we spend more time in the air than most, I suppose. It's just something that comes naturally to me, after so many years. Sometimes it's even easier than walking."

"Suppose I'd better take consolation where I can," Jack says, chuckling good naturedly. He grins wolfishly when she mentions that's the first time anyone's ever fed her that line on a date, and decides against informing her that clearly she's been surrounded by blind men and morons because she's systematically shot down every one of his lines so far so he should just stop setting himself up for her. "Easier than walking? Do you have walking issues that I should be made aware of before we consider going on any more strolls between the castle and the village?"

"I suppose you should," Angelina agrees, but she looks a little scared at the look on his face. "Well, maybe not easier, exactly... But it feels like it is. And don't worry, I can walk perfectly fine. I wouldn't be worrying about my walking at all."

Re: A Nearby Park
"Well I'm glad to hear it. I will no longer be concerned for your ability to walk," Jack promises. He glances around; the sun is sinking in the sky and even though winter has passed, there is still a lingering chill on the air in the evenings. "Should we put those walking skills to good use then, head back to the castle? It should be about time for dinner by the time we get there," he points out. Because he is a boy, and boys are always hungry for one of two things. For once, Jack is actually getting hungry for food.

Angelina, who hadn't really been paying attention to the time or the impending darkness, looks around almost in surprise. She hadn't realised it would get so dark so quickly. "We probably should. Is it that time already?" And yes, she has realised that boys are always hungry.

Re: A Nearby Park
"It is," Jack says, a tinge of regret in his voice as he stands. "But maybe if my luck holds out I can convince you to join me at Ravenclaw table again for dinner. What can I say? I'm enjoying your company and I just don't think my housemates can quite compare right now," he says lightly, not wanting to pressure her, but liking the idea of spending more time with her.

Re: A Nearby Park
[Okay, so I kind of forgot about this... SORRY!]
Angelina blushes yet again, but she's smiling. "Well, it's not too far out of my way, I suppose. I'm fairly sure I can manage to sit at a different table again; I didn't get food poisoning after I ate at the Claw table last time... At least, I haven't yet. Besides, I am having fun - although I'm sure you noticed that. And thank you for the compliment." She says, her voice getting softer as she speaks until her last few words are just above a whisper.

[It's ok love - you did have an unexpected guest crammed into your brain, after all. <3]
Jack grins, glad he seems to have recovered some of his suaveness that had gone AWOL a little earlier. Now, if he can just manage not to say anything too crass for the next hour, he might actually score another date. "Well I'd better not tell you that we're just luring you into a false sense of security," he chuckles, and holds out a hand to help Angelina up even though he's not completely sure she'll take it. "I'm glad you're having as much fun as I am. And you're welcome," he tells her, still smiling.

[Oops? I love you? <3]
Angelina smiles. If he can manage that, he will have a chance. Just in case he waned to hear it from the horses' mouth, so to speak. "Well, I hope you know that if you poison me, you'll have the rest of Gryffindor and at least one angry Claw to answer to." She rest her hand on his as she stands, but her touch is light - she doesn't really need his help, after all.

Re: A Nearby Park
Jack chuckles. "Ah well. I like my dates un-poisoned anyway, so I suppose I'll just have to content myself with spending time with you." He turns his hand as she stands, taking her fingers loosely in his - the move is smooth and polished, but not so forceful that it would take her any effort to pull away if she chose - as they begin the walk back to Hogwarts. Jack escorts Angelina to the Ravenclaw table for dinner, and then walks her back to Gryffindor tower where he does not try to kiss her. It's not that he doesn't want a goodnight kiss (or anything else coming his way, naturally), but he knows Angelina is pretty firm in what she does and does not want so he's not pushing too fast. Besides, maybe he'll leave her guessing this way, he consoles himself as he wanders back to Ravenclaw tower alone.

Re: A Nearby Park
Draco had been down early after his quidditch practice and had set all this up then put it in a preservation bubble so no bugs could get to it. He just wanted everything to be perfect for Pansy.
- Spoiler:
Re: A Nearby Park
Pansy's hand still in Draco's the entire walk here, she stopped, smiling as she saw what he had laid out for them in the park. "Draco, when did you do this?" She turned to look at him, then tugged on his hand and walked over, dropping down to her knees and sitting on the blanket, pulling him with her. "It looks great."
Re: A Nearby Park
He smiled at her and sat down as she pulled on his hand, "After practice I came down here and set it up. I'm glad you like it." He reached into the basket and pulled out the glasses and a bottle of wine. Flicking his wand he uncorked the bottle and poured it and handed her her glass. "To second chances." He leaned back and held up his glass to her.
Re: A Nearby Park
Pansy took a glass from him, holding it up to him as he toasted to second chances. "More like third chances, but here's to not needing any more," she laughed, taking a sip. She shifted a little where she sat, moving carefully so her dress didn't move up too far or anything. "So what's for dinner tonight in this awesome little picnic you set up for us?"
