Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy didn't know how long they sat there staring at each other. Seconds, minutes, hours. She hadn't the slightest and couldn't begin to even have a sense of time passing right now. All she could do was look at him, his enormous pupils and the silver rings around them, her own reflection on the surface, the firelight dancing in the corners. Finally she returned to the moment and blinked, looking away for a second at her hands on his chest, not sure if she should leave them there or not. She glanced back at him in her slight open mouthed state of wonder at the situation, his hand warm on her back. Pansy pressed her lips to his exceptionally softly for only a fraction of a second before she pulled away again, her eyes opening and returning to his.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He didn't take his eyes off her face when she looked away and kept them trained on her even as she moved closer to him. He felt the brush of her lips against his and then they moved away again. His hand moved off her back to cradle the back of her head, sliding under her hair to brush against her soft skin. He leaned in and brushed and equally soft kiss against her lips. It felt amazing to be with her like this and not feel rushed or hurried, nothing like his relationship with Astoria. He felt for once, even though it wasn't true, like he had all the time in the world, like he could enjoy every second with her and not have to worry about not having more. He blinked slowly at her and smiled, leaning in for another soft quick kiss.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy smiled at him when he kissed her, matching the gentleness of the kiss she'd just initiated a second ago. It was one after another, gentle soft kisses before they looked at each others eyes again, and though it felt like forever it felt like no time had passed at all. She wondered if she could just sit here all day like this, and knew she would be happy to if she could. As his lips touched hers again, she followed him as he leaned back to pull away, keeping their mouths together as her hands returned to his neck, the fingers of one hand moving up to his jaw and pulling him slightly toward her as she parted her lips and kissed him.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He hadn't expected her to wind her hands around his neck and pull him in closer again but he was going enjoy her newfound boldness. Her fingers played along his jaw and his own hand remained in her hair, the other leaving her waist to slide along her arm. He reached her fingertips and moved her hand off his jaw, entwining her fingers in his own. He had never been more thankful for anyone by the name of Malfoy as he was for his Great-Granfather or whoever it was that initially made this room.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy smiled into the kiss as he took her hand in his, finally pulling her mouth from his and kissing his jaw lightly before moving down to kiss his neck and rest her head on his shoulder. Her lips pressed gently to the warm skin of his neck as she breathed in his scent, her eyes still closed and a perfectly content smile across her face. "I could stay here forever with you." Her voice was soft, only audible because of the complete silence of the room. They didn't have any worries in here. They didn't have to think about other people or school or the future or the past or any of that. They were just in the moment, in the here and now, and they could enjoy it for once. Nothing else was of any importance in here besides each other. Not even Draco's morning spent with his father affected them as it might have otherwise.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He wrapped his arms around her and smiled at her soft words, "We should then, we should just never ever leave again." He said the words just as quietly as she had and listened to them bounce around the room, their room. The peace surrounding them was so strange and so delicate that he was afraid too much movement would disturb it and ruin it. In the complete and utter turmoil of their lives both in and out of hogwarts this was a sanctuary and he made a vow to himself that no matter what happened he would keep this place free of fights and they would never come down here angry.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy smiled and sat up to look at him. "But we have to leave at some point. We can't really stay here forever." She reached up and rested her hand gently on his cheek, her fingertips brushing over his pale skin. As she looked at his eyes again and saw the way he looked at her, it only served to reaffirm her realization. She had never really gotten over him. Forced herself angry at him, sure, told herself enough times that she didn't care, sure. But she'd never been able to stop loving him, and she never would be able to do that. She knew it now, no matter if they fought again or something horrible happened, she'd never stop being in love with him. "Want to go out to the stables now?" She asked him quietly, feeling a little awkward about asking him about leaving when they'd both just said they'd be happy to stay in here forever. Regardless, there had been a promise of horses, and Pansy could never turn that down or forget about it.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco chuckled as she asked about the stables and he ran a hand over her cheek before he moved his hands down to her waist, "Missing the horses are we?" He gently moved her so she was standing in front of him and stood up next to her. Sliding a finger under her chin he gave her another kiss before wrapping his arm around her waist and leading her out of the room, dousing the fire before they went and closing everything up after them. They walked up the stairs and then up to their rooms, "Okay go find some boots and a coat and I'll meet you back here in a minute" He gave her another kiss before heading into his own room to pull on some jeans and a pair of boots. Picking up his coat, a pair of leather gloves and his black scarf he walked back into the hall to wait for her.
Re: Malfoy Manor
"Well, yeah. I don't exactly get to go riding every day." Pansy let him put his arm around her and they walked out of the room together and back up to the hall their bedrooms were on. Her breath caught yet again when he kissed her, and she hurried into her room, hoping her riding things were still in there and that they still fit. In the back of the armoire she found them, the tall riding boots that had used to belong to Narcissa, and her dark grey jacket along with an emerald scarf and some gloves that she probably wouldn't even put on. She shoved them into their respective left and right pockets before she tugged on the boots and laced them up, pulling on the jacket as she headed toward the door. It was tighter than it used to be, but that just meant it fit properly now, forming to her figure rather than swallowing her up like it used to. She draped the scarf around her neck as she walked back out into the hallway where Draco was waiting. She took his hand and headed through the corridors, eager to get outside.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco smiled at her enthusiasm as she dragged him along and while he was back there admired exactly how well that jacket fit her now. Following her outside he saw an elf and told it where they would be incase for some unknown reason he was needed in a hurry. When they got outside he strode to match her pace and twined their fingers together. The air was crisp but still pleasant, not so cold that they would lose fingers which he had to admit was a nice change from the last time they had been out here. When they reached the stables he pulled out his wand and unlocked the doors, pushing one of them open for her to pass.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy stepped inside and took a deep breath of the familiar animal-created warmth. She was greeted by a few low noises from the stalls as she walked further into the stable, waiting for Draco to come up behind her. He'd never liked the inside of the stable much as a kid, something about the smell of horses, but she suspected it had grown on him over the years since she'd dragged him out here so often. She turned around to look at him, but motion on the ground caught her eye. As she looked down, a massive brown spider was making its way across the ground toward her. Normally she'd have had no problem stepping on it to keep it from getting to her, but even as she lifted her boot she couldn't bring herself to do it. She couldn't kill the spider because the very sight of it made her remember that afternoon in the forest when she'd made one larger, and she and Theo had taken turns trying out the cruciatus on it. She stared and moved a few steps backwards as it continued to crawl forward, stopping only when her back reached a wall. "Draco..."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco walked in behind her and cast some lights on in the stables, a sort of bell-jar flame effect to keep the hay safe and turned when she said his name. She was backed against the wall of the stable but on first glance he couldn't see why. Quickly he walked over to her and pulled her into his arms, "What's wrong Pans?" Looking at her he followed her line of vision and saw a spider crawling over the hay. With a slight smile he turned back to her and ran a hand over her cheek, "A spider? You've never been afraid of those before, want me to kill it?" He raised a boot as it drew closer.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Though he put his arms around her, Pansy didn't remove her eyes from the spider. She would not be losing where it was located, no she would not. She nodded when he asked if she wanted to kill it, though she spoke at the same time as the nodding. "Well, that, or just take it outside..." It kept crawling closer, as if it knew what she'd done, as if it knew she'd seen one almost the same as it, only she'd made it bigger and took out her anger on it. She swallowed and tried to step back again as it neared her feet, but the wall was in the way.
Re: Malfoy Manor
As it got closer he quickly stamped down on it. "There gone now." He turned back as he felt her press completely against the wall. This wasn't like her at all, normally it wouldn't have bothered her or she'd have stamped it out herself. Running his hand over her back he pulled her into a proper hug, "You okay? What happened to you?" She was normally unafraid, his partner in crime and this wasn't her at all, she was never this way, never so like their mothers for no apparent reason. He pulled back when she didn't immediately answer, "You know you can tell me anything."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy winced a little as he stomped on the spider, killing it. It shouldn't bother her this much and she knew it, but that didn't stop it from being like that. She leaned into his hug and hid her face in his shoulder, silent for a moment as she decided what exactly to tell him. He pulled back from her and looked at her, but she had to look away, putting her head back on his shoulder to escape his eyes. "I just couldn't do it. Not after the forest." It took her a moment to realize he'd have no idea what she was talking about, so she explained while her arms were still around his neck and she didn't have to look at his face. Surely he would understand how she felt, having gone through such training with his father. Maybe he could help her feel okay about it. "Theo and I were dueling each other in the forest, and we got a spider and tried the Cruciatus on it. I couldn't step on that one. It looked the same. I couldn't. I just couldn't."
Re: Malfoy Manor
He knew that if she looked at his face right now she could be able to read his shock and the slight horror written across his face. Even he, through his lessons with his father, hadn't done anything that violent and he couldn't believe that Pansy of all people had been willing to try it like that, in an unprotected area with someone who he quite frankly didn't find all that trustworthy. He kept his hand moving in comforting circles on her back, "It's okay Pans, it wasn't a person and you didn't get caught, it's fine." As he stood there he had a hard time believing his own words, she had cast an unforgivable. They stood there a while then he pulled away from her and moved his arm around her waist, "Come on, let's head out and try to take your mind off it. Good plan?" He walked her over to her favourite horse's stall and stroked the silky nose as it pushed out to nudge her face.
Re: Malfoy Manor
"No, it was horrible. It's not okay..." Her words caught in her throat though, and she fell silent until he pulled back and looked at her. "Alright." She attempted a smile at him, but soon enough she was distracted when he walked with her over to her favorite horse's stall. The massive horse popped his head over the half door, and Pansy reached up and ran her hand down his face. "Hey there, Poseidon." The big black horse was quiet, but he let his ears flick back happily and he shut his eyes and lowered his head to nudge Pansy's stomach, his lips working at her coat pockets and hoping for mints. "Sorry love, I've not brought you anything yet." He'd successfully taken her mind off the spider incident and the slight smile had returned to her face.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco saw she was occupied with Poseidon so he walked over to the tack room to collect all they needed. Levitating hers over to her he picked up his own and walked over to his horse. Rubbing his hand over the smooth black he smiled and unlatched the door, "Hey Celeritas, they been feeding you well?" He walked into the stall, enjoying the crunch of the hay beneath his feet. After putting on the bridle he put the saddle over his back and loosely buckled it, walking the Arabian out into the main aisle to give them both more space. "You okay over there Pans?" He loved watching her deal with the huge black beast but knew it would lose it's amusement when she could use magic to get the saddle on.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy grabbed a lead rope off a hook on the wall and looped it around the massive horse's neck. She carefully opened his door and gave him a tug, laughing as he nearly jerked her arm off in the excitement of coming out of his stall. He was an enormous horse and she was a rather slight girl, so it was always a delicate balance of size-dominance and attitude-dominance between them. "Yep, I'm good." She answered Draco without looking at him, concentrating on the massive horse in front of her. She only came up to his shoulder really, but he was her favorite nonetheless. She grabbed his bridle and slipped it up over his face without a problem, but the saddle probably weighed as much as she did and his back was even with her eyes. There was no way she was going to be able to lift it up there, and once again, her stupid birthday didn't come until the first of December, leaving her wand as good as useless. She contemplated asking Draco to saddle him up for her, but then the idea of a nice bareback ride came to mind and she smiled at the idea. She stood beside Poseidon and tugged his head down, leaning carefully across his neck like they'd practiced a few times before. And in one fluid movement, he lifted her by flipping his head up and she swung her leg over, the enormous black horse taking a few prancing steps as she settled onto his back and gathered the reins up in her hands.

Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco had turned back to properly saddle Celeritas and when he turned back Pansy was sitting bareback atop Poseidon. He rolled his eyes and quickly and easily mounted up. "Now what was the point of me getting you that saddle if you won't use it?" He rode past her and slapped her ankle with his crop. Manuvering Celer through the open doors he waited for her to get through, chuckling as she ducked to avoid bashing her head. "You and that horse are such an odd couple, I bet he doesn't even notice you up there."

Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy grinned at him, wrinkling her nose playfully as he smacked her boot. "Well I can't very well get it up here on my own, so why bother?" She followed him out the doors of the stable, leaning down so she wouldn't knock her head. She'd nearly learned that the hard time a few years back. "It is sort of like an elephant giving a piggyback ride to a kitten, in a way." She didn't notice she'd just chosen a kitten as the small animal, thereby giving in again to Draco's insistence that she's his kitten, which she most certainly is not. "But he knows I'm here, don't you?" She leaned down and wrapped her arms around his neck, or at least as much as she could because of the enormous thickness of the black horse's neck. He only snorted in response, his entire body quivering a bit as his massive chest expanded and fell with the quick intake of breath. He stomped a hoof in impatience, but he wouldn't take off until Pansy gave him permission.

Re: Malfoy Manor
He chuckled when she said kitten and smirked at her but didn't say anything, he'd save that for later. Turning to face her he looked her up and down and raised an eyebrow, "If you fall off I will laugh." Turning back he surveyed the paths, thinking about each route and seeing what he remembered. He knew there was one that led to the lake in the gardens, one that just wound around the forest and the other two he couldn't remember at all even though he knew they had explored them all at one point or another. "Which one do you want to go down today?" He never really went riding when she wasn't home, there was something about the stables he wasn't fond of but he always went when she wanted to.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy smirked at him. "Draco, honestly, how many times have I -- nevermind." Her smirk turned into a shy sort of smile as she remembered she'd fallen off more than a few times before. Never just from riding though. It was always when she was trying something stupid. Typical. "Hmm. Well, the garden's always nice, and it's not gotten so cold yet so maybe there are still some flowers. Want to go there today?" She didn't wait for him to answer, but kicked her heels against Poseidon's sides, and leaned forward over his neck as the horse's hindquarters bunched and he reared up a little before leaping into a lively canter across the grounds. "Let's see if that ol' Celery can keep up!" She laughed, turning around and leaning low on his back, letting him run.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He watched her rear up on the giant black monster and smirked as she rode away from him quickly digging in his own heels to catch up with her. He shot off after her, the lighter horse quickly catching up to Poseidon. As they cantered down the path he looked over at her and smiled, watching her clinging to the back of the great beast. When they reached the gardens he slowed Celer to a walk, "Seems you were right, some things are still alive." He took the lead and headed into his mother's rose garden. It was by far the nicest place in the garden and the smell was incredible.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy pulled back on Poseidon's reins as Draco caught up, slowing the massive horse to walk through the gardens. She laughed, looking down at Draco as he talked to her. "Of course I was right." She tugged Poseidon to a stop and slipped down off his back, flipping his reins over his head so she could lead him along behind her. Not that it was really necessary, that horse would follow her around like a lost puppy given the choice. She glanced up at Draco to see if he would be joining her on the ground for a little bit of a walk, at least through this part. They'd always snuck out to this particular part when they could get away as kids. There had been a little tunnel through the rose bushes around here somewhere, and Pansy was curious to see if it was still here.
