Re: Malfoy Manor
"Oh, I definitely will. I'll probably need you to come save me from some dolt who can't take a hint. Mum's only criteria is that she thinks he's cute enough and has nice enough manners when she speaks to him. Well of course he's going to be polite with my mother, but with me it's always a completely different story. Most of them get threatened sufficiently or hit or kicked before they can get their hands on me, the little..." she rambled off, though some of her words sounded more like growls than words. Some of those boys had never learned to keep their hands to themselves, but Pansy always taught them as quickly as she could what she would not stand for. Some of them learned better than others.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Some walked away and some hobbled away. Draco nodded, "I'll try to save you from any real idiots but if I saved you from every guy I disliked your mother might kill me." Because then Draco would spend the whole evening dancing with Pansy and that would just not be acceptable to their parents. Draco had to say that this was the worst party of the year though because he wasn't only eligible bachelor number one but also he was the host. Double pain.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Walking and hobbling, yes yes. "If you saved me from every guy you disliked, I'd never get to talk to anyone at all, and you'd make me live a life as an old maid who no one would marry." She smiled at him, amused by the thought of Draco scaring off all the guys there tonight. She wouldn't mind it, he always was so protective anyway it wasn't hard to imagine him pulling each and every one of them aside, taking them by the collar of their shirt and giving them a good threat or two.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco should not be given ideas or encouragement because he would LOVE to threaten every guy who looked at Pansy let alone actually danced with her and if they thought about touching her inappropriately, which in Draco's head means anywhere other than her hands, they would die. But now back to the actual post and not Draco's protective desires. Draco tilted his head and shrugged, "It's not my fault none of them are anywhere near good enough for you." He moved over to where she was sitting and rested on the arm of her chair, tracing a finger over her arm.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy smirked up at him as he insisted none of them were good enough. "Not a single one of them, huh? And I suppose that only leaves you as the only one good enough?" If that was the case, it was a shame her mother didn't think the way Draco did. Or her father at least, but even he had made a few favorites among the suitors. They weren't all horrible, but it didn't matter. In Pansy's eyes, none of them were Draco, and that was reason enough to pay them no attention.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco smirked and leaned over to kiss her on the cheek, "Obviously, otherwise you would have sent me hobbling off too." He rather hoped he never did anything to warrant having to hobble away from her. Draco didn't even want to imagine which of the poofed up princesses his parents had on the shortlist now, he was almost sure about two or three of them and he hated his parents more and more for putting him through this.
Re: Malfoy Manor
"Oh, maybe I'm just saving a special most opportune moment to send you hobbling away. You never can tell, can you?" And he says he hopes he never does anything to warrant hobbling away, clearly he's quite good at erasing the past memories that Pansy tends to remember a bit more often than she would like. Those particularly violent fights, his hand around her throat, him pinning her to the wall and yelling, oh yes what fun times they were. Upon their reoccurrence however, Pansy promises that one of them will be hobbling away, and she insists that it will definitely not be her.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Oh yeah. Draco has selective memory plus she didn't send him hobbling then. Also Draco associates the hobbling with giving her unwanted sleezy attention which he will never do. Partly because he's not sleezy and partly because she wouldn't not want it. Draco smirked at her, "No, but I trust you not to cause any permanent damage." Draco glanced at his watch, "Ten minute countdown."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Well maybe she won't make him hobble, at least not for that sort of fighting anyway. But if he tries to get in her pants too soon though you can bet Draco will learn how it is to hobble away from her. Want it or not, this girl has clear lines drawn, no really, she got out some chalk and drew all over the floor in the character lair in my head. Marco enjoys smudging it while she's not looking. "Oh, no, never permanent damage. And never anything that can be traced back to me based on more than just some boy's say-so." She winked at him and got up, looping her arm through his. "Should we head down, I suppose?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco has been duly warned. He nodded and stopped at the mirror to do one last check over. Everything looked good and he met her eyes in the mirror, "I guess there's no use putting it off any longer is there." He knew they should leave but he didn't want to move away from exactly where they were standing, he didn't want to go downstairs and make nice with everyone.
Re: Malfoy Manor
"Come on," she tugged on his arm, leaning up to kiss him on the cheek before pulling him reluctantly toward the door. "Let's get this over with." She sighed and pushed his door open, and though it probably wasn't exactly proper or acceptable for them to walk in together as though they were a couple at the ball, considering the entire party was set up mainly to introduce them to future spouse possibilities, they did it anyway and Pansy didn't let go of his arm until her father came and made her, whisking her away to speak to the first of entirely too many young men. The night was dull, slow, and full of arrogant and stupid and forward boys, and Pansy couldn't be more anxious for it to end.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco let her pull him to the door and walked down the stairs with her, nodding to his parents who gave him a stern look as he walked down arm in arm with Pansy. They didn't do anything to separate them though so he stayed with her for the first few minutes before her father took her away. The evening then turned into a whirl of bright ugly dresses and dull pretty girls. He got to dance with Pansy three times but every time they wanted to talk they were whisked away again. As the night wound down he went to find Pansy but as he found her her parents came up and took her away, ending their last chance to talk that night. After everyone had left he said goodnight to his parents and went up to bed, glad that the whole fiasco was over.
Re: Malfoy Manor
It was still dark out when Pansy woke up, but instead of rolling over and going back to sleep, she slipped out of bed and snuck across her room to grab a scarf and a jacket to throw on over her pajamas. Her parents were still sleeping, and would be doing so for a few hours more, so she headed downstairs to the foyer as quietly as she could, sneaking toward the kitchen and out the back door. Once outside and away from the barrier her father kept on the house, she apparated to Malfoy Manor, making her way quickly up the main walk leading to the front door. But instead of going right in the front, she hurried around the side of the house toward the door that led into the kitchens, and one of the family's house elves let her in and was trying to get her to stop in there and warm up a bit first. She declined the offer and left her boots there, slipping upstairs toward Draco's room as quickly as she could, pushing his door open and sneaking into the darkness. Crawling quickly onto his bed, she jumped on him to wake him up. "Merry Christmas!"
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco had been having lovely dreams of sugarplums and candy canes before he was abruptly woken by a rather cold mass of teenage girl. He blinked a little and looked at her in the dark, "Merry Christmas to you too." He pulled an arm free from the blankets and wrapped it around her, rolling them both over so he could check the time. 5 am. Far too early to even consider getting out of bed. He tightened his arm around her and nuzzled his face into her cold neck, "It's so early. Why are you never up before 9 on any other day of the year?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
"It's never too early on Christmas, Draco." She tugged her scarf off and sat it aside on his bed, lying beside him and not caring at the moment that she might be getting snow on his blankets. It would dry later. She looked over at him with an excited smile, the combination of Christmas and being with him making her giddy inside. "Besides it's four hours together we wouldn't normally get, and even you can't say that's a bad thing."
Re: Malfoy Manor
He couldn't not smile at her last comment. "You're right, that could never be a bad thing." He tugged on the collar of her coat and helped her pull it off then, with some maneuvering, managed to worm her under the blankets. "Much better, now all I have to deal with is your cold fingers." He wrapped his hands around hers, properly fulfilling his duties as both boyfriend and human heating system. He really wanted to close his eyes and go back to sleep again but he knew that wasn't an option. "Do your parents know you're here?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy laughed as he tugged on her jacket and let him take it off, crawling beneath the covers and sliding up closer to him. She smiled when he took her hands, his big warm hands immediately helping reheat her frozen fingers. She kissed him quickly on the lips before getting more comfortable with her head on his pillow as she faced him. "No, but they won't miss me for a few hours still. They're not exactly the most enthusiastic Christmas morning people. They like to sleep in. Only Itsy knows I'm here, she let me in your kitchen."
Re: Malfoy Manor
"I think you're the only person who's this enthusiastic the early." He smiled and gave her another kiss. "Especially after last night. I don't think it's ever lasted that long before or if we've ever had that many people." He rubbed her hands a couple more times before letting go of one of them and moving his arm to rest over her hip, "I think there were people there that even I didn't know. Did you see the girl my mother threw at me when you were dancing with Scorpius? The one in that horrible gold gown?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy laughed, as the Christmas Eve party the Malfoys threw was always busy, but never quite as much as last night's. She figured it was because there were so many more families than usual, all of which happened to have sons or daughters the same age as Pansy and Draco. Their parents hadn't exactly been subtle with introducing them either. She laughed even harder at the mention of the girl in gold. "Oh, yeah, the tingirl. Your woman in blinding gold armor. I didn't think she'd ever let you escape. Now there's a real winner, it looks like I've officially met your future wife, huh?" Pansy smirked at him, joking about it was easy because it was so ridiculous. If it had actually been a quite nice girl that his parents had liked and that had let him return to his friends or something, then Pansy wouldn't have been so carefree. It honestly did worry her what would become of them after school, but she knew their parents plans and plots and she knew the two of them would do what their parents demanded, even if it didn't involve them together.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco pulled a face and poked her in the hip, "Ugh I hope not. I don't think my mother would want those robes in the house again anyway. While I was mobbed did you have any interesting meetings?" He had tried to keep an eye on her but what with their parents attentions and playing host he hadn't really had much chance. He had seen most of her dance partners and had been glad to note that he and Scorp had been the only repeats.
Re: Malfoy Manor
"Just the usual. A load of idiots, rich snobs, and foreign jerks. Of course there were a few that were rather nicer, but I don't know. None that I really remember, though Marco was there, so at least there was one person that wasn't terribly awkward to meet and dance with since I already knew him. I really hate dancing at balls. At least I got to escape a little to dance with you and Scorp from time to time." She smiled, her still slightly cold hands resting against his chest for the warmth.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco shivered slightly when she put her hands on his chest, the cold running right through him. "Merlin did you walk all the way here?" He would never understand how she could always be cold. "Marco? Montague right? Well that's not too bad, Mother tossed me together with Bulstrode at one point. Have you seen her lately? She's lost a ton of weight. A literal ton. Good thing is that she's with Flint so at least she wasn't all over me." He never ever wanted to see a pair of dress robes again after last night unless Pansy was wearing them. "Is there no one decent eligible right now?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
"Well, only partway. I apparated from my gate to yours." She smiled at him and pulled her hands away, curling them up under her chin instead. "Yeah, that's him. You remember, the one who stopped you from choking me. He's always pleasant company. Bulstrode, really? I haven't seen her all year... then again maybe I have and just didn't recognize her." That was entirely possible, as she probably looked like a completely different person if she'd lost a literal ton of weight. "Sorry you had such rotten luck with girls though. Wish we could have spent more of it together."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco smiled and cuddled her closer, pressing kisses to her neck. "Me too, but then again I'm always mourning our lack of time together." Especially after this year ends. He knew she was thinking it too but it was Christmas. They were going to be happy dammit. "Oh, Pans, do you want your present now?" He made absolutely no move to roll away from her and kept kissing her neck and the underside of her jaw.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy smiled and closed her eyes as he kissed her, completely agreeing with him in that they don't get enough time together. Sure they were more open with their being together now, but they still didn't get to see each other nearly often enough for either one of their liking. And when summer came, what then? But before she could think about it, he'd spoken to her again. "I get a present?" She laughed softly as he continued kissing her, her head tilting back for him of its own accord.
