Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco chuckled against her throat, "Yes you get a present, it is Christmas after all." He gave her one quick kiss on her lips then slid out of the warm bed and grabbed a sweatshirt. Pulling it on he walked to his closet and put a hand on the doorknob. "Close your eyes." When he was sure she wasn't peeking he cracked the door open and grabbed her present then walked back to the bed and put it on her lap. "Merry Christmas Pansy."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy sat up when he got out of bed, watching him go over to his closet. She obliged and closed her eyes, waiting impatiently but not letting herself peek to ruin the surprise. And it definitely was a surprise, especially when she had been expecting a cold hard box of some kind, only to end up with something very warm moving around in her lap instead. She opened her eyes to find a little black furry puppy sitting in her lap, and she gasped and smiled and laughed all at the same time. "Oh my goodness..." Petting him and ruffling his ears, she finally looked back at Draco. "Thank you!" She was unbelievably happy, to the point where you thought you might just have a few happy tears, but the wiggling puppy distracted her again, his long legs sprawled around a little randomly. "I love him, he's perfect." She tugged her wand out of her pocket, determined not to let go of her puppy even to give Draco his gift. She accioed it to her from her jacket before handing it to him. It was somewhat obviously two books stacked up and wrapped in silver paper. "Merry Christmas, though now I feel like you've far outdone my present for you."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco smiled, so glad she loved him, and that he seemed to like her. "Well he's half a Christmas present and half an 'I'm sorry about Toby' present." He gave her a kiss on the cheek and took her package, ripping open the paper, "Pansy! Where the hell did you find these? I can't get them anywhere!" It was two of the books his father had wanted him to get in preparation for tomorrow and the future. He lifted one to examine the other and found bacon chocolate in between. He smiled at her and put them all to one side to lean in and give her a kiss, petting the puppy on the head as he did. "Any name ideas?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy smiled at him, a little sadly at the mention of Toby, but knowing that Draco really had felt terrible about it, and was now making it up to her with a new pet. "Thanks." She watched him open his present, glad she'd apparently at least gotten him something he wanted. "Oh, just a little skill. Wrangled myself a couple of Puffs and they got it in no time. You just have to know the right people and the right questions. And a little Slytherin manipulation comes in handy too. I'm glad you like them." She smiled at him and kissed him back, glancing down at her dog as he asked about a name. The black puppy glanced up at her, as if he too was waiting to hear her suggestions and ideas. His big brown eyes were just the same as they'd been that day in Hogsmeade, as if he knew and understood everything going on around him, almost like he could read her mind. His tail hadn't stopped wagging since Draco had dropped him into Pansy's lap, and she hadn't stopped petting him or playing with his ears or paws since she opened her eyes and saw him. "I don't know..." She chewed on her lip, thinking. "Vesper, the evening star, or Vega. Maybe Zephyr. Oh or Gideon, that one means mighty destroyer, and you look like a chewer. Leviathon, I mean look at those paws already. Could shorten that one to Levi. Maybe Maximus. Lucifer, Orion, Apollyon, I don't know. I read too many astronomy books with all these crazy names. What do you think?" She looked up at Draco, seeing if he maybe liked one of them.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco chuckled and moved over on the bed so he could sit next to her, one arm around her and the other crossing him to hold the puppy's large paw. He weighed it in his own and looked in the big brown eyes. "I think I like Maximus. Max is a good name for him and he needs a bigger name to yell when he gets in trouble." He pulled a face at the dog as Max opened his mouth and let his tongue hang out, and pressed a kiss to her cheek. "It's all up to you though. He's your puppy. Oh and I have some food and a bed and things in my closet for him."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy laughed, agreeing with his reasoning. "Aw, he's not going to get into trouble, are you Max? Of course not." She smirked at Draco, fully knowing that very suggestion was completely ridiculous with a puppy, especially one already as big as this one was. She leaned over and kissed Draco again, smiling at him. "Thank you. He's exactly what I've always wanted." Well, besides you. But Pansy won't say that out loud because it's way too cheesy and she refuses to be overly cheesy, even when getting a puppy on Christmas morning. She leaned over backward and laid down on his bed again, and Max climbed out of her lap and into Draco's, rolling over onto his back and looking up at him expectantly, waiting for his tummy to be scratched. Pansy couldn't help but to laugh at the irony of something, besides her, lying in Draco's lap and demanding to be petted.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He smiled when she gave him a kiss, "I'm glad, I though he was the best one for you." He couldn't wait to break into his chocolate and start reading his books but all of a sudden he had a lapful of fur. Draco laughed with her and ran his hands over the silky belly. He was more than happy to pet the cuddly puppy but after a few minutes he lay back too and let the surprisingly heavy puppy walk his way up his chest. He licked his face then half stepped over onto Pansy and licked her too standing over them like a bridge.
Re: Malfoy Manor
She smiled up at the puppy as he crawled up on Draco's chest, and then put his paws on her shoulder to lick her as well. He might be a puppy, but he was solid, that was for sure. He'd probably grow up into quite a hulk of a dog. "Max!" She reached up and ruffled his ears before grabbing him and pulling him over toward her, getting him to lie down between she and Draco. She scratched behind his ear and he closed his eyes, his tail still wagging happily. Pansy noted that the little dog was quite warm, and that he would make an excellent cuddling buddy when Draco wasn't around. "So how long do you think it'll be before I should try and sneak out again without your parents seeing me?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco looked over at the clock, 7am. "Hmm, maybe another half an hour or so. Do you want to leave Max with me until you all come back later? What time are you coming over anyway?" he didn't think that Muffy would appreciate waking up to a dog though Leo would probably be amused. "I think my mother will be up in about an hour and making sure every thing is perfect for tonight." His hand absentmindedly went to Max again, running over his soft fur.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy wasn't keen on leaving Max somewhere so soon, but figured that since he'd been with Draco for at least a little while now anyway, he'd be totally fine here. Besides, he probably still saw Draco as his owner right now anyway, since he'd been living in Draco's room and had been fed by Draco and such. "Yeah, I suppose I should. Mum wouldn't be too thrilled and she won't yell so much if she meets Max here. Not sure when we're coming over though. Probably around three after we've done Christmas at our house, if you can call it that." Mum opening a box with a new dress she picked for Leo to get her, Dad getting some kind of new dark arts thing that Pansy had never been particularly interested in, and then her few presents that were mostly just expensive and not very useful other than an attempt at conspicuously displaying wealth. Jewels or dresses or things like that, nothing she'd ever really wanted. Nothing like a puppy. <3
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco nodded and rolled onto his side so he could look at her and Max. "That's fine, I guess we'll be done by then too." Christmas with the Malfoys. A stately breakfast then Narcissa received some hideously expensive yet tasteful looking piece of jewelry, father got something similar or a new artifact and then Draco received new robes and some books. Same thing every year. It would take about two hours then they would separate again and reconvene for a formal lunch around 1pm. If Draco had his way he would spend the day up here with Pansy and Max, playing games and cuddling.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy laid there a while longer, petting Max and talking to Draco about anything and nothing, just enjoying their morning together without heir parents around while they could. Tomorrow kept popping up in her mind, when he would leave with his father and go to a big meeting, and the more she thought about it, the more she wished she could stop thinking about it. She wondered what would happen, if he would be taking the mark or not. Her stomach turned at the idea and she hoped desperately that he would not. She wanted to ask him about it, but refused to ruin a perfectly good Christmas morning. Eventually enough time and conversation had passed that she realized she ought to go and sneak back home before she was discovered either here or not at home. "I'll leave Max and can get him when we come back for dinner this evening I suppose." She sat up, kissing her puppy on top of the head before leaning over him toward Draco. "Merry Christmas, Draco."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco enjoyed relaxing and cuddling with Pansy and Max, pushing away thoughts of tomorrow, something he knew would be discussed at breakfast later. When she shifted and sat up he groaned, "Yeah that sounds good. I'll keep him safe, won't let my father use him for target practice." He smiled and leaned over Max to give her a kiss. "Merry Christmas Pansy." He gave her another kiss, knowing they wouldn't get much time together later.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy was reluctant to leave, not wanting to separate when this would be their last day together for a while. When he kissed her a second time, she didn't pull away from him, her hand reaching up instead to hold onto his jaw and keep their lips together just a while longer. Bittersweet, knowing both what lovely day it was and what was coming for tomorrow. She kissed him a moment longer, finally pulling back and looking at him with that strange mixture of Christmas happiness and sadness of saying goodbye, even if it was only for a little while. "I'll see you later." She pressed her lips to his once more before getting up and grabbing her coat, putting on her scarf, and slipping out his door. She made it down to the kitchens without a problem, put on her boots, accepted a hot chocolate to go from the ever insistent Itsy, and headed outside to apparate back home before her parents could miss her.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco smiled when she kissed him back, cherishing their moment. He knew she would be back later but it would be different, she would be cornered by their mothers and he would be taken aside to talk further about tomorrow. Tomorrow, he still didn't know what time they were leaving or how long it would be. He had been told to pack a bag though so it had to be at least two days, not that he would tell Pansy that. She gave him one last kiss and snuck out the room. Draco pulled Max under the blankets and cuddled up with the puppy, certain he could get at least another hour of sleep.
Re: Malfoy Manor
The day back at home passed rather uneventfully, just like Pansy had predicted. Her mother got a new dress, new jewelry, her father some dark relic, a few new books for their library or his study depending on their content, and she got a new dress, a necklace she would probably never wear, a pair of ridiculous heels that would be tossed into the back of her closet. A few books from her father and an almost cute handbag from her mother were really the only things she truly liked, and that was quite a bit more than last year's gifts. After their thank yous and almost fond hugs, they got ready to go over to the Malfoy's for dinner, which passed almost as uneventfully as Christmas. Polite talk, gossip between their mothers, talk of the dark arts for their fathers, and more whispered conversation between Pansy and Draco who couldn't wait permission to escape. Finally, they were excused, and Pansy stood up, tugged down the hem of her dress where it belonged again, and grabbed Draco's hand to pull him out of there before her mother could say anything more.
Christmas dinner dress, apparently she's talked her mother into letting her wear black again.

Re: Malfoy Manor
Christmas at the Malfoys consisted of less than an hour spent together eating a light breakfast and exchanging gifts before everyone went their seperate ways again. Draco spent much of the afternoon in his father's study being lectured about what was going to happen the next day before they all parted to get ready for dinner. Another spectacularly boring meal later and Draco took Pansy's hand and fled with her to their own room. Web they got there and had sealed the way behind them he sat down on the sofa and pulled her into his lap. "Well that was the most boring chrismas dinner ever. Was your morning with your parents remotely interesting?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
FINALLY I HAVE ESCAPED AND AM HERE.
Pansy sat down on his lap, stretching her legs out on the couch and resting her head on his shoulder. She played with his tie absentmindedly, running her fingers over the deep green fabric, his black shirt. He always looked nice in black. "Completely uneventful. Our usual boring Christmas and then just getting ready to come over here, mother fussing about stupid things." Pansy was quiet, unable to help but think of what was planned for tomorrow, wishing she had a way to make it not have to happen, a way to keep him here. A way to keep him safe.

Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco rolled his eyes and pressed a kiss to her bare shoulder. "The day your mother stops fussing the world will end." His fingers were trailing over her waist when all of a sudden he felt something wet pressed against them. Peering around her he chuckled, "Hello Max." his arm patted the space on the couch next to him and behind Pansy.
Re: Malfoy Manor
"Well, that's true." She closed her eyes as his hand drifted around her waist, chills running up her back at his touch, but she looked down as he stopped laughing and scratching her puppy on the head. "Max! I didn't know you were down here." She turned in Draco's lap a little bit so she could watch as the puppy jumped up onto the couch, standing there and wagging his tail excitedly for a bit until he laid down and curled up. Pansy would be almost anything he'd be asleep in a few minutes, taking one of those many naps puppies tended to take when they got warm and comfy. "Thanks again for him, Draco. He's perfect. My favorite present."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco stroked Max's head as he curled up and passed out, as small animals are known to do. He smiled at Pansy and his hand moved from Mac to re-settle around her waist. "I'm glad you're happy with him. Honestly I wanted to keep him after having him for a couple of days, even if he did try to chew up one or two of my ties." Draco looked fondly down at the fluffy puppy before turning back to her, "And I don't think a few diamonds are anywhere near as cute. Did you get anything else interesting?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
"He's much better than any diamonds could ever be." She kissed Draco quickly before turning to glance at her puppy as he fell asleep. "I just got the usual dress and shoes and jewelry from mom, a few books from dad." Pansy shrugged, still looking at Max but turning her gaze back to Draco's eyes as she finished talking. She leaned comfortably into him again as he put his hand back on her waist, and she left Max alone so the energetic puppy could get some much needed and deserved sleep. "You get anything good at all?" She rested a hand on his shoulder, her fingers playing at the back of his neck.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco shook his head, "Nothing really. Some new dress robes from mum and then books and a long lecture from dad." He cuddled closer to her, enjoying the peace and quiet after the boring dinner and morning. The only reasonably worthwhile part of his day had been talking to his father, if only so he knew more about the plans for tomorrow. "So what are your plans for the rest of break?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
"Staring out the window for days on end, waiting for you to get home. Hiding from mum, playing with Max and considering if it's worth it to train him to pee on the clothes I don't like so we can throw them away." She smirked at him, putting her arms around his neck and putting her head back on his shoulder again. "I wish you didn't have to go."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco chuckled at the thought of Max peeing on all the ugly clothes. Definitely a project worth investing time in. Draco sighed and turned his face toward her, "I know, but there's nothing we can do about it. It's finally time for it to happen."
