Re: Malfoy Manor
"Another label, another mask for me to have to decode? How many more are you going to add on before you're indistinguishable from who you're pretending to be, Draco? There's only so long you can pretend something before it becomes true and becomes your life. Maybe it's not you now but if you are a part of this, you can't help but be like them eventually. And if you think it's fascinating nothing's going to stop you from trying it out and seeing what it's like, even just once. And if you can do it once, who's to say you can't do it again, and again, and before you know it you're one of them!" She didn't move, just kept looking at him desperately, wishing he could just tell her it was fine and they could leave and never have to deal with their parents again or the expectations or the pressure from the Death Eaters or any of that. Of course that couldn't happen, and the false hope was worse than the despair she figured she might as well settle into when thinking about this aspect of his life, their lives.

Re: Malfoy Manor
He stayed silent as she ranted about his layers and masks but when she started in on the dark magic he snapped, "You of all people don't get to lecture me on using magic. Who was it today who confessed to performing unforgivables? What do you think I do in my free time? Torture small animals? No. I have yet to cast an unforgivable but obviously you just like to think the worst of me." He glared at her, hating the judgments that she was casting on him, the same ones the rest of the world would and the exact ones that he dreaded the most.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy was torn somewhere between wrapping her arms around him and saying sorry or sitting there and crying a bit feeling like a frustrated lovesick idiot or leaving now before it got worse. She stared at him a bit, heartbroken, distraught, her eyes prickling. She got up, made her way to the hole before she said something else she knew she'd only regret. She crawled through and jumped up on Poseidon's back, kicking him into a gallop as she headed back to the stables. She left him standing in the aisle, one of the servants would brush him and put him back, and she tried to pick somewhere to go to be alone, finally climbing up to the hayloft and sitting back in a corner that couldn't be seen from the door where she tried to gather her thoughts and sort out her head.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He watched her jump up and leave him and as much as he wanted to he made himself stay there. Chasing after her now would just make the fight worse and they would say more and more stupid things. At least now they could cool off and hopefully make up in time for dinner. He lay back in the grass and looked up at the sky again thinking over this fight. Every time it was the same thing, her trying to get him to quit and him shutting her down, saying something cruel, and making it all worse. After lying in the grass for what felt like hours but was actually less than forty five minutes he sat up and crawled out, untying Celer and mounting up. He rode slowly back to the stables, dismounting when they arrived and, not seeing anyone, taking of Celer's tack and picking up a brush. He'd always found it therapeutic to brush off the horses, even if he didn't like the stables themselves. There was something about being around the big animals, Celer in particular, that soothed him that he had never understood.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy sat there a while, thinking it over. She always tried to convince him otherwise, to try and get him to choose some other path, even though she knew he didn't have another choice. It wasn't so simple, even if she wished it was. And the way she talked to him about it never did any good, it only led to fight after fight. It felt like she sat there forever, staring at the wall, until she crawled across the hayloft as she heard someone leading a horse in. It was Draco and Celer. She contemplated going back to her corner and waiting for him to leave, but she knew that wouldn't do any good. She needed to talk to him. She sighed and made her way back down the ladder, walking quietly over to the big open stall where they were standing and Draco was brushing the sleek horse. "Hey." She stood a little bit away from him, leaning against the wall. "I'm sorry."
Re: Malfoy Manor
He had been so absorbed in brushing that he didn't hear her walk over until she spoke. He closed his eyes for a second then turned to her, "I'm sorry too, I was out of line there and I shouldn't have used that against you." He put the brush on the side of the stall and walked over to her. He was so glad she had come back, so glad that they were actually working something out immediately rather than waiting for days, even weeks, before they sucked it up and faced each other. Looking at her he gave her a week smile and pulled her into a hug, they had both been wrong it what they had said but they could sort through this and fix it again, just like always.
Re: Malfoy Manor
"I shouldn't lecture you so much about it," Pansy watched as he sat the brush down, leaning into his chest as he walked over and hugged her. "I know you have no choice, it just frustrates me and worries me and apparently I can't handle it very well." She wrapped her arms around his middle and rested her cheek on his chest. Strange how things worked when it was resolved within the hour, rather than a few days later like they usually waited. And clearly life at home wasn't all perfect either. They both really had changed, she supposed, but maybe this could work.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He couldn't stop a small smile from spreading across his face despite the serious topic of conversation. This was good, they were admitting what they did and fixing it, a much better alternative to hiding away from each other for weeks. Pulling back he put a finger under her chin to look at her, "We're both incredibly stubborn and like to think we're right when really we should both just listen more. And I really am sorry about bringing that up, it wasn't right of me at all." Leaning in he gave her a soft kiss, much preferring this way of saying sorry than the verbal alternative, though that was handy too.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy smiled for a second after he kissed her, but her face turned serious again. "Just... please don't do it if you don't have to. It messes you up so much, I can't even explain it to you, Draco." She tightened her arms around him. Looking away from him and hiding her face in his chest. "Please don't. You can't imagine what it does to you." She was speaking quite softly, weakly, mumbling into his shirt as she held onto him as if he would disappear if she let go.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He looked down at her and pressed a kiss to the top of her head, "I promise that as long as it isn't required of me I won't and I'm so sorry that you ever did." After giving her another sweet kiss he handed her his brush, "Okay let's finish up in here then we can head back to the house or just walk the gardens a bit." He left the stall for a moment to grab another brush, "Sound like a plan?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy nodded. "It was my own stupid choice. We like to learn things the hard way, remember?" She grabbed a brush but disappeared over to Poseidon's stall, stepping inside and starting to brush him off since she'd neglected him earlier. A while later she was finished and his coat was shining. She stepped out of his stall and closed it up, walking over to where Draco was, tugging on the back of his shirt a little. "Ready?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
They really did like to learn the hard way and it was a habit that would be good to break at some point before they got themselves killed. When she walked back over and tugged on his shirt Draco gave Celer one last brush over then turned to Pansy, "Yeah, all set now." He put the brush away and held out his hand to her, "So where to? Our private hideaway or walk through the gardens? My parents should be gone by now so we have the whole place to ourselves at last."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy waited for him to finish and put the brush away. She looked up at him and thought for a second before answering him. "Anywhere's fine. I'll go wherever you go." She put her hand in his and smiled slightly at him, waiting for him to make a move because she honestly would follow him anywhere he went. As long as he'd take her, she'd go with him always. Aww.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He couldn't help but smile at that I mean really who wouldn't. He pulled on her hand, moving her closer, and gave her a deep kiss, pulling away and resting their foreheads together. After standing like that for a few moments he moved back and squeezed her hand then they walked out of the stables and back up to the house. Inside they stopped in the hall for a second before he decided where they should go. With a grin he led her into their smaller living room and lit the fire. Sitting down on the couch he patted the spot next to him then turned to pull off his boots.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy's stomach flipped over as he pulled her close to him and kissed her deeply, almost roughly. She followed him back to the manor and into a smaller room she wasn't sure she had been in before. She looked around eagerly, admiring the unique ceiling as she sat down beside him. It was a small little round room, windows on two sides of it, tall and skinny and overlooking the gardens. Her eyes were drawn back to the ceiling again. "Pretty." She stared at it a few seconds longer before looking at him, leaning back into the couch.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He stood his boots off to one side and looked around the room too, "It is a pretty room." He turned back to face her and couldn't resist. He leaned in and brushed her hair over her shoulder, his fingers tracing her neck as he did so. Moving forwards he kissed her, keeping it soft and gentle for a few moments before his tongue snaked out, seeking permission to deepen it. The hand that had moved her hair had found its way around the back of her neck, the fingers dancing over the soft skin there.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy watched as he looked at her, smiling a little as he leaned toward her. This was a much better way to make up after a fight than all the ignoring they usually did. Her hands remained in her lap again, a little nervously, but relaxing into it as he continued kissing her. She parted her lips slightly when she felt his tongue tracing along them, chills running down her spine in response to his fingers. Finally one nervous hand reached up toward him, resting lightly on his shoulder as she turned her body a little to face him. Normally she knew they wouldn't dream of doing something like this in a random parlor of his house, but with his parents gone, apparently that afforded them the chance to be a little more spontaneous in a much less hidden place.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He smiled against her lips as her hand moved to his shoulder and the hand that has been caressing her neck moved to hold her shoulder too. He slowly deepened the kiss, treating her almost like a skittish animal, no sudden movements and nothing unexpected. He moved on the sofa as she turned to him so they were closer and more comfortable. He knew they should go get dinner soon but for now this seemed like a better alternative.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy kissed him back gently, still nervous about the whole thing and letting him mostly control it. She wasn't sure why she was so tentative with him, but it all felt so new and strange and any confidence she might have had at one point, or hoped she would have, was nowhere to be found. She went along with whatever he did, kissing him more deeply as the moments passed, her hand moving up his shoulder to the back of his neck. Though it felt like both a very long time and a very short time, but eventually Pansy removed her lips from his and pulled away, glancing down a moment before she met his eyes again with a shy smile, unsure if they should resume their affections or see if his parents were home yet.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He felt her pull back and let her move away, smiling at her when she met his eyes. That little smile on her lips was one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen. It was fascinating for him, all these sides of Pansy. The first time they kissed was not the most eventful thing in the world, the second one was a hot mess and that weekend at the pool was like a dream and then in the kitchens they had been so confused that it was all over before it began. This was something new, this timidity, and he wasn't sure what to make of it. He looked down at his watch and saw that it was getting close to eleven thirty and his parents would be expected home soon. He sighed and moved his arms so he was hugging her, "We should hide away again soon."

Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy wasn't sure why she was so shy about this. Probably because now it was actually real. Now she was kissing her boyfriend and not just the Draco she'd been trying to win over for three years, the one she'd been in love with for that long. She had him for her own now, and though it was much the same as their friendship had been before, so much had changed. He made her a little nervous, but she felt completely safe at the same time, a strange combination of feelings she couldn't even begin to explain to herself, much less anyone else. And then there was the whole factor of him being her boyfriend and yet their decision to keep it quiet, to act as though nothing had changed for them other than resolving their issues and resuming their previous friendship. She glanced at his watch as he did, resting her head on his shoulder when he hugged her. "Where to?" Going somewhere to not be found by his parents sounded like a good option, because she didn't particularly want to be questioned about how their day had gone, or forced into doing something for them, or to have Draco swept away for another quick talk with his father.
[Mkay. Game starts at noon, leaving at 11 to head over, and then I'll be back here after the game doing homework and stuff. I'll be around all evening/night, so whenever you get on chances are pretty good I'll be here.]

Re: Malfoy Manor
He shrugged slightly, careful not to jostle her too much. "Well we should get some dinner so maybe stop by the kitchens then head down to our little den again?" As much as he knew they had to get up he didn't want to. This small room, well small by Malfoy standards, felt so cozy and personal compare to the rest of the house. After a few moments he sighed and sat up a little, knowing they had to leave the room at some point.
Re: Malfoy Manor
"Well, come on then, before we're caught." She smirked at him and stood up, grabbing his hand and pulling him out of the little warm room into the wide massive cold halls of the manor again. They made their way down to the kitchens where she stopped so he could get something to eat. She wasn't sure about what to eat, or if she really wanted to, but she figured Draco would grab her some things anyway, so there was really no need for her to try and search for herself. She glanced quickly at the hall and crossed the room to stand behind him as he peered across the shelves. "I think I heard someone. Your parents must be back."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco picked some food out as she came up behind him. Looking over at her he held Nutella, Marshmallows and Graham crackers, a healthy dinner. "Really? Damn I thought we'd have more time." He motioned for her to be quiet and listened, hearing the distinctive sound of his father's cane on the entrance hall floors. "Shit" he whispered to her, "We'd better hide here for a while then we can sneak over to our room." He didn't want to get caught by his parents at all. After waiting a while they managed to successfully sneak back up and down to their room where they could relax and eat delicious s'mores.

Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco is here lounging on his bed reading a dueling book, not really enjoying being on break.
[Yes we're a couple of days early but whatever. I'm away so deal with it.]
