Viktor Krum wrote:Viktor chuckled and gladly took Hermione's arm in his own. "I don't blame you. I guess I'm just so used to everything here that I sort of forget to really look at it," he said with a shrug, taking a brief moment to actually look around at everything around them. It really was beautiful and he couldn't blame Hermione for getting distracted.
Hermione nods. "I suppose we all do that in environments we're used to - even the most beautiful of places fade into the background once you're used to them. Every year when we first arrive at Hogwarts, I'm overwhelmed by the sight of it, and then three weeks into term I've long since stopped taking the time to appreciate it," she confesses, her eyes still wide and everywhere and still taking in everything she possibly can.

Viktor had to agree with what Hermione had said. He hadn't noticed at first, but even he had stop being in awe over the beauty of his new school. "Then it's a good thing I have you to point everything out to me again," he smiled. When they reached Sofia, his walking slowed slightly, giving Hermione a better opportunity to look around at all the shops and people. "I'm assuming you'd like to see the book shop first?" he asked with a warm smile as they continued walking.

Hermione slips her arm out of Viktor's as they walk, instead finding it more comfortable to walk hand in hand as they reach the more populated areas. She looks around at the people and the buildings, managing to pick up only a couple of the shops from the names alone, most she simply identifies by peeking through the door. "The people are are so... cool," she whispers to Viktor, awed and feeling very out of place. Naturally Viktor is right at home amongst them, although Hermione notices that one or two of them are pointing and staring as the Bulgarian seeker passes. "And yes, I'd love to start with the book shop!"

I miss you too, wifey!!!<3
Viktor chuckled at Hermione's response to all the people of Bulgaria. "Cool. That's von vay to describe them, I suppose. You say it like you're not cool, though," he said as he lightly nudged her arm with his free hand. He leads her over towards the three story book store he had told her about and opens the door for her, like the gentleman he is. "Here it is. Only three stories, but I'm sure you'll at least find something to suit your interests."

Sorry, had to run and hang out washing. ~flails~
Hermione just chuckles and shakes her head. What a laugh - Viktor Krum calling her cool. Well, she is the coolest girl in the whole wide world, but still. "Thank you," she says with a gracious smile, stepping over the threshold. Then she stops dead right there in the doorway, her jaw dropping and her eyes widening and her breath catching in her throat. She has no idea that she's still standing right in the middle of the doorway, gaping like a fish out of water.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Viktor thinks Hermione is cooler than anybody he's ever met. He waited for a moment to let Hermione take in the book store, but figured that eventually people would want to leave or enter the store. He smiles and tugs on her hand lightly, waiting for her to follow him into the store. "I know it's fun to look at, but you should see it from the inside," he teased lightly, still smiling as he looked at how in awe his friend seemed to be.

Hermione flushes and grins sheepishly, drawing closer to Viktor and allowing him to lead her further into the store. "I don't know where to start," she confesses with a breathless laugh, still a little slack-jawed at the three levels of books she's standing amongst. "Where's your favourite section?"

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Viktor chuckled and started walking through the book store, not really 'leading' her anymore because he wanted to make sure they looked in the areas she wanted to see. "Vell, I tend to spend most of my time in the romance mystery novel section, not that I spend too much time here. I prefer books on Quidditch, obviously. And vith this being a muggle store, they don't have too many of those," he said with a soft laugh.

"That's a shame," Hermione murmurs. She pauses in her tracks, though, because she's spotted the History section. She takes a couple of steps in that direction, now almost leading Viktor in her haste to explore the Bulgarian History display. "Can we look here?" she asks, her eyes pleading just a little. "Or leave me here and come back for me when you're done with the romance mystery novels, I don't mind!"

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Viktor wasn't at all surprised by Hermione's selection. In fact, he's wondering why he hadn't suggested it sooner. He had no idea how many times she had read 'Hogwarts, a History,' but he figured it had to have been at least more than three times. "No, it's fine. I've been here plenty of times. I don't mind looking at your books vith you," he said with a grin. "I had a feeling you might be interested in some Bulgarian books anyvay, so I figured ve'd be spending some time in this section."

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Hermione grins gratefully at Viktor, secretly glad that they're not separating anytime soon. "Maybe you could recommend something for me," she says, dropping his hand at last to turn her full attention to the books. Several of them are very heavy and there's no way she can lift them one-handed. She flicks through a few, but her rudimentary knowledge of Bulgarian hiders her search a little. Distractedly pushing her bushy hair behind her shoulders, she furrows her brow over a few of the summaries, trying to make out what she can.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Viktor smiles as he watches Hermione look through the books, before tearing his gaze away to find one he thinks she'll like. Not that it's hard. She'd probably love any book he handed her from this section. "How about some of these?" he asks as he gestures to a few books on one of the higher shelves. "Some of them look like they're in English if that makes things any easier," he said with a soft smile as he took down one of the English language Bulgarian history books and held it out for Hermione to look at.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Hermione's face lights up as Viktor puts a book in front of her that she can actually read without having to translate. She scans the summary and nods in appreciation. "It's perfect!" she exclaims, then looks indecisively between the English language book and the Bulgarian language book. "I wonder if I should get one of each, so I can persevere with learning the language," she muses, reaching into her bag to try and figure out how much money she has. She gasps. "Merlin, Viktor, I totally forgot! Before we do any shopping, I need to find a currency exchange place!"

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
"That sounds like a good idea." He smiles at her excitement in the books, not changing his expression at her money situation. "Alright. Ve can do that right after. The books are on me," he says with a soft smile, though he hopes Hermione knows that he won't take no for an answer. He's buying her those books and she is going to like it. "Consider it a 'Velcome to Bulgaria' gift."

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
"I couldn't," Hermione says weakly, looking hopefully between Viktor and the books. "You've already done so much for me..." She really, really wants them. "It would be too much..." Her hands clutch tightly around them, even as she tries to make a move to return the books to the shelves. "We could always come back later, even though that one seems to be the last one left, I'm sure nobody will take it in that time, right?" she says, her voice almost faint with the strain of trying to say no to her stubborn best friend offering books.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
"It's possible. But vot if somevon does take it, hm? Honestly, it's not problem at all. I vant to buy them for you," he insists as he reaches over to rest his hands on top of the books. "If you see anything else you vant, you can buy it. Promise. Just let me get you the books," he says as he brings out the puppy dog eyes. He figured that this conversation wouldn't need the pout. He'd save that for later on.

Hermione winces and smiles all at once. "I hate it when you do that," she comments, because the puppy eyes have completely broken her. "Thank you. But don't let me even look at anything else in here right now," she warns, slapping a hand comically over her eyes to cover her vision and winding her arm though his once more as if she expects him to lead her safely away from the books in her blinded state.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Viktor smirked triumphantly as he takes the books from her, laughing as she covers her eyes and he leads her towards the cashier where he pays for the two books. “Okay then, now to the currency exchange,” he said with a smile as he uncovered her eyes and walked her out of the store hand in hand, still holding the bag of books because they’re rather heavy. Well, not for him but for Hermione, yes. “Luckily, there’s von here, and the people are alvays friendly there too,” he tells her as they walk along the streets, eventually coming to a small building where he leads her inside and up to the counter where a friendly looking man is to help them with their currency-exchanging needs.
