Severus, who is still fuming, but mostly at the nosy little Slytherin brats who think they can shove their noses into other people's business. He sighs dejectedly and waits for Lily to show up.

Lily was walking by the lake, hoping to find Sev...she had to tell him about her and Viktor. Thankfully, she saw he was sitting by the dock. She walked over with a slight smile, and hugged him. "Hey Sev."

Lily looked at him, wondering if it was a bad time to tell him...he really didn't seem happy. She sighed, deciding that the sooner he knew, the better. "Sev....I..you should know...Viktor and I are dating..." She paused, looking nervous. He's going to take it badly. I KNOW he'll take it badly. He didn't like Viktor and now...Ahhh he's my BEST FRIEND I don't want him to hate me! I hope he doesn't, he has to know, but I hope he doesn't hate me, or Viktor any more than he already does...

Severus didn't say a word, choosing instead to stare off at the lake. There were a thousand things he'd like to say, but he could never bring himself to do it. He tries to mask his hurt, but it's written all over his face.

Lily couldn't help but hug him, he looked so hurt at her words. As she moved back so she wasn't touching him, she spoke. "Sev...Sev please, you're my best friend, I don't want you to hate every guy I like! I don't like whoever I think it'll bother you to see me with, I like who I like. Please try to understand...I can't help it, and it helped me get over James!" She paused, looking away. "I'm happy..I know you just think i'm stepping up to get knocked down and hurt again...and I suppose I couldn't expect you to be happy for me....all you see is me getting hurt again, I suppose." She was partially thinking aloud, ignorant to any other cause of his seemingly irrational hatred for Viktor.

I'll just sit here waiting for you to come crying back to me, hurt again, 'cause this is no different from before, and if you don't see that, well, there's nothing I can fucking do, is there?" He clenches his fists, hurt and angry, and horribly disappointed, in her, and in himself.

Lily looked at him, taken aback; shocked and hurt. He really hates my being with Viktor...he really does. But there's no REASON for him to except that Viktor plays Quidditch and last time I liked a guy I got hurt. Doesn't mean it'll happen everytime! "Sev...I..I can't help but be hopeful. Viktor isn't James. He isn't! He doesn't show off, he actually cares about his studies, he helps others...more than I ever saw James do ANY of those things. " She looked determinedly away from him, closing her eyes. "I don't mean to make you feel useless...or like I just come to you to cry. You're my friend. That DOES mean something. This time though...you disliked him from the start, with no obvious logic behind why you had such a strong SUDDEN dislike.."

[That'll be fun to watch. Honestly, when Vikily ends, I really do want them to stay friends...just decide it was a rebound thing for her and better as friends. She won't be having a whole breakdown again. It's annoying. <_<]

[Agh. I hate writing some stuff, but I make myself do it, 'cause it's realistic. Like, this post, is making me really upset, as I write it.]

Severus glared at her; he didn't think he'd ever felt this way about her- so damn angry at her. He stands up, still glowering at her. "I don't care if he's not James! They're all the same, all of them!" he half-shouted at her. "Yeah, I'm your friend, and yeah, sure, it means something. But maybe that something just isn't enough!" he snapped, before taking off before he cried in front of her. He ran into the castle, somewhere to be alone, to think, to let it all out. Alone.

[This is when he'll go to the classroom, and Severian happens. We're pretending it did and we'll just write it when we get a chance, so we can move plot along.]

Lily watched him run off and turned to the water, feeling alone and unbelievably hurt. How can they all be the same? That's not possible..It's just NOT. Why does he have to be so pessimistic, just because I like someone. I can't put my best friend and boyfriend on different levels, Sev can't expect that if he just says "I don't like him" I'll automatically ignore the person! He had no basis for hating Viktor. HAS no basis. Yet, he does. And he's angry and disappointed in me as well. This stinks.
