Peter sees Tam walk in and gives her a small half smile. The words that had been swirling around in his head just a moment earlier seemed to drop right out of it as she arrived. She really did look beautiful, he hadn't properly noticed that in weeks. He dark green eyes were soft, and her hair fell in gentle curls down her back. All he could say, in a soft voice was, "...hi."

"In my dormitory--Moony's there too. He was sleeping so peacefully...I couldn't bear to wake him up--but I wanted to go out." He shook his hair out of his eyes and looked at her a little awkwardly, "I actually wanted to apologize. It's been bothering me... a lot. I was a total ass, and I can't be. For him. And for us. It's--it's a lot more complicated than I could ever have dreamed it would be."

His lip trembled a little and he looked away from her face and down at the water where his gray eyes looked back at him.

"I mean...I dunno," he said, only half truthfully, because all he really wanted to do was kiss her, "I think that maybe...maybe if we started over...it would be a good thing. And I don't mean starting over by having sex in a broom closet. I mean...really just...taking it slow."

He looks up at her, hopefully, his hands twisted, slightly nervously, together.

He smiles faintly at her tears and leans forward, breathing in her familiar scent, realizing only now how much he had missed it. He touched his lips lightly to hers, then pulled back, watching her face to see how she would react.
