Pansy snuck into the dormitory as quietly and carefully as she could, relieved to find it empty. She crossed the room to Draco's bed and pulled out a piece of parchment and her quill, thinking of what she could even begin to say to him.
I've really screwed it up now. It was so fragile and I've just broken it, completely shattered it, and I don't see how it could possibly be fixed now. I don't even have a reason for it. There's no reason. And he was the only one I ever loved, and now he'll never speak to me again except to hex me. And I probably deserve it after what I've done.
But there's no bloody way I'm going to take it sitting down. Sure, I've earned back that 'shit-on-his-shoe' status now, but I'm a different person. I'm not going down without a fight.
She flung a note down on his bed and stormed out of his dormitory, knowing her mother was probably waiting just outside the grounds by now. It was time to go.

Draco,
I've screwed up.
We need to talk when I get back.
There's a note down in the common room as well.

I can fight my way out of that again. It doesn't matter. Azkaban doesn't scare me.
Wish I could clue you in. I can't write about it.
I have to figure it out with the person it concerns first.
Talk about a rotten time to be dragged away from the castle.
Maybe it's for the best. Give everything a chance to cool off.
Sorry I have to be so cryptic, but I can't tell you about it before the one it really concerns.

Severus storms into the dormitory, more angry and hurt than he'd ever thought possible, and entirely at himself. How could he have said something so horrible, so stupid, so... he was fairly sure he'd just lost Lily forever, that his friend would never speak to him again. He dove under his bed, tossing back empty bottles and digging around for something, anything to drink. Finally, he finds a crate of Volcano label firebeer, probably leftover from one of his many drunken escapades with Pansy. Relieved, he hurls the crate onto his bed and sits down, popping open a bottle and draining it quickly. I am never leaving this room again.

At some point, he scribbles a note to Pansy and sends it off. Several empty bottles later, Severus collapses backwards on his bed, the room spinning too much for him to sit up straight.
