Even when everyone thought he was evil.
He is just made of cool.

Re: Severus Snape
I know! I for some reason liked him and then in Deathly Hallows I was like HA! I told you I liked him for a reason!
Re: Severus Snape
I think I liked him because he was so, in a roundabout way, honest.
People know where they stand with him.
It may not be fair, but you sure as hell know.

Re: Severus Snape
His brutal honesty is why I loved him in the first book when I was seven or eight.
That, and I was a twisted little child.
-was Snape's only fan in her middle and elementary schools and was ridiculed, and now goes HAHA-

Re: Severus Snape
I never got into fight about Snape's awesomeness, but I was the only one of my friends who thought Dumbledore would die. My first thought when I read his death was, "HAHA! I WAS RiGHT!" and then I started to cry.

Re: Severus Snape
I was just thinking about this while working on my essay.
In The Prince's Tale, Dumbledore tells Snape he wants him to kill him instead of Draco, because 'that boys soul is not yet so damaged.' Severus responds to him saying 'But what about my soul, Albus? What about my soul?'
This makes me wonder. Does this mean that the first murder Snape ever committed was Dumbledore's? Did he really never kill anyone before that? That's what that comment seems to be saying, I think.

Ph yeah, and then he askes; "How many people have you watched die recently Severus?" And he was like "Only those i coudnt save" So I dont know. Maybe. Snape always seemed like more of a torturing guy.
Re: Severus Snape
Torturing? I don't see him doing that either though. If Voldemort wanted to torture someone, he had the Lestranges, who would do a far better job. I don't think he ever liked watching people hurt, even if he hated them. He'd just rather they be dead, simple and clean, at least I think so. I think he was more the tactical advisor for Voldemort, a strategist and a spy, rather than a soldier. He was too valuable to risk in battle, imho.

Re: Severus Snape
By that line I think he meant he would just watch the others murder shamelessly and without regard for life, but he'd changed since Lily's death, and was doing his best to prevent more death.

I felt the same way. He wasn't one to be killing or torturing people.
Bellatrix did/enjoyed that part enough for the both of them anyway.

-playing Devil's Advocate- Or he had no problem murdering those he didn't care about.

That would imply you think he cared about Dumbledore, which by that point, he didn't. Dumbledore had used him, shown he never gave a damn about Lily Evans or her son, and I think it's quite clear that Snape loathed him.

I don't know if he doesn't care about Dumbledore. I think he may have despised Dumbledore at times, but I think he had to have cared about Dumbledore somewhere. But, then again, I am the eternal optimist...

And I am the eternal pessimist, haha.
Eh. You're probably right. He did care about Dumbledore, even if Dumbledore didn't care about him.
Even if I don't think Snape should have cared about him in the least.

Re: Severus Snape
If he didn't care for Dumbledore? Why would he have killed him like they'd planned?
Sure, you could argue he was doing it because of the Unbreakable Vow with Cissy, or to save Draco from having to do it.
But I think he had to care at least a little to make a deal with Dumbledore to do that for him at the opportune moment.
He wasn't completely heartless.

Re: Severus Snape
I honestly couldn't stand him for ages, I just thought he enjoyed being nasty way too much...
But, everything made sense when I realised he loved Lily. It broke my heart watching him hold Lily's dead body!
I think he cared about Dumbledore, he may not have agreed with him but I think he understood the reasoning behind it all.
