Draco nodded, thinking of what he would say. Nothing came to mind. Guess I'll just have to wing it, he thought to himself. Wasn't quite reassuring, but it was better than stressing himself out. He looked back up at Sev, "I'm sorry about - well - saying that you and Hermione are the same. You're not..."

Severus smiled at him a little again. He couldn't help himself; he threw his arms around Draco and hugged him tightly, then let him go feeling extremely awkward. "Thank you..." he said, his voice trailing off. "I'm sorry. For being a bad friend. I shouldn't have let any of this happen." He dried off his own hair with the towel, and looked at him sadly. "Draco? You'll be my friend still, won't you? We can put it behind us, can't we?" he asked worriedly. He didn't want to lose him as a friend- he really did care about him. He wanted him to be happy, he wanted Pansy to be happy, he wanted them to be together, to be happy together, because it meant that there was hope for him, too. He wanted his friends back, both of them, even if he knew he didn't deserve it.

Draco fell backwards, taken off guard by the sudden hug. He patted Severus on the back, returning the hug only near the end until he pulled away. He shrugged, "You weren't being a bad friend, Sev. A bad friend wouldn't have stopped me from jumping off that tower. You know that..." He looked longingly at the doorway, feeling the awkward silence spread. He hadn't realized that Severus had asked him that question until moments later. He turned back to face him and grinned, "Of course I'll be your friend. There's no reason not to be!" He knew that things would be different between them since what had happened, but he could put it behind him, "...I better go find Pansy!" He patted Sev on the shoulder trying not to be awkward, but accomplishing the opposite, "See you around!" He turned and ran from the tower.

Severus smiled a little as he left, glad that Draco was able to put what had happened behind them, that he still wanted Severus as a friend. He started to walk back into the castle, but changed his mind. Instead, he went back out into the rain and sat on the ledge Draco had stood on, and looked down at the ground below. The rain is beautiful, he thought to himself, sighing again. He'd stopped crying again at some point, but he wasn't entirely sure when. How did things get so bad? When did life get so fucking complicated?

[yesss ma'am. This is after my conversation with Herms...Remus didn't let on to her but he's rather angry at Severus. sorry Sev. :3]

Remus entered the Tower and spotted Severus sitting on the ledge. It wasn't exactly the safest place to be and he didn't want there to be any accidents. "Severus. Could you get off that ledge?" He wasn't saying this entirely because he cared but mostly because he didn't want anyone to die. He was still angry about the fact that Sev had made Hermione cry like that and he still had to talk to him about the game.
