Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
Yet again, he suppressed a smile, "Thank you, then," he tells her, "I do find those who believe other worlds to be something that isn't worth learning about, which, sadly to say, happens to be most of the Wizarding World. I can't call myself a lover of Muggles, per say, and then again I haven't come in much close contact with them, but understanding of whatever society in any circumstance is certainly a plus. And," he says, with a little quirk of his mouth, "I wouldn't call you somebody who tries to be intelligent. I would call you somebody who is intelligent -- perhaps not in wisdom, but certainly in knowledge."

Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
Lucy nodded, somewhat fascinated with what he was talking about, even if it didn't reveal much, "I am truly not a lover of any society. Ours does not satisfy me. The only reason the Muggle World's is fascinating is because of the various government systems. I laugh, because my father believes that our system is greater than theirs. In reality, all world leader's have, and will be, somewhat corrupt. They always strive for powers that are beyond what they are given. World leaders from more developed areas say that they are less corrupt than those of the Third World, but, in reality, some of them are far worse," she tilted her head when he complimented her knowledge and looked around, checking to see if any fellow Weasleys were nearby, "My father wanted to become the Minister of Magic, a position I find ridiculous. He does not lack the three main qualities of a leader. I will tell you them, because I sense that you would use them well. The first, is the power to persuade the public to support any policy. To have them under your command. This is generally found when the people are in their most desperate state. Thus, many candidates for power try to create a desperate state by attacking their own regions...I don't advise that, unless you are careful enough to cover your own tracks. Then again, that leads back to the corruption I talked about earlier. Anyways, the second, is the gift of impeccable speech. If you have the power to gain anyone's attention by merely hearing the sound of your voice, you will gain the power to persuade them. Have them in the palm of your hand. The third, is the only one my father possesses. Knowledge. The knowledge of the vast world around you will help you prevail on your road to political success. No leader, official or not, can ever come into power without these three things."

Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
He raised his eyebrows. "Insightful as that was, and with all due respect, I have to disagree with you. It is a foolish man for sure who believes that he can win over an audience, a society, an entire world by magic or by might, however one needn't need to be all knowing nor perfect in their speech. Yes, there is a long list of qualities -- both express and implied -- that each society desires for their ruler. The only necessary elements for a ruler to have, though, are, for one, fear in the public eye: the life of man is nasty, brutish and short and human instinct is power after power -- in short, greed -- and every decision that a person makes is governed by fear, the fear of the 'what if', and so, if the ruler hopes to keep his people at bay from the war of person against person, every man for themselves, then they must be feared. Then, the ruler must also be able to convince his people that they are happy, that everything is at some state of peace -- social contract has been a part of government for generations, and although it is preferable for the ruler to uphold their end of this contract, the bare necessities are only for him to convince his people of their status." Gellert's lips quirked, impressed with her, and he fought back a smile.

"Hm, I see your point, though I recall the downfalls of many leaders who worked to be feared by many. They killed millions upon millions for their cause, and, yet, most of them went about it the wrong way. The foolishness of people amuses me, but if your goal is to do something that will aid the world on its journey to become more prosperous, you seem to be on the right track. I pray that you execute your plans accurately, unlike your predecessors. I can only offer my help, but I cannot read from your expression whether or not you want it...." she paused, "I'm Lucy."

He ran a hand through his hair. "Gellert," he says, inclining his head in introduction. "I have to say, I'm impressed, Lucy. There aren't many girls who could sustain a conversation about politics without looking utterly foolish, and although I disagree with you on some accounts -- the fact that you approve the, what was it, track, that I'm on is flattering, albeit humorous. How about you? Do you believe you're gonna be superwoman some day?"

Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
Polly is skipping too...then she trips over a tree root right near where Luna is. Her face gets all quaffley and she looks around to see if she was seen. Oops. She was. hehe. But it's Luna, so that's alright. She picks herself up and waves. "'ello, Luna! 'ow are you doing?"

Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
"Hi Polly! I'm great! How have you been?" she asks, somewhat in shock because she didn't know that part veela's could trip or do anything clumsy.
Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
Polly has a habit of being clumsy...it's the human side of her. It's ridiculous, but oh well! To make up for it, she gracefully sits down next to Luna. *dies* haha
"I'm doing well! OH! I read ze Quibbler you gave me. Eet is marvelous! I'll definitely be reading eet from now on. Zank you so much for showing eet to me!"

Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
Luna's face lights up because someone actually read the Quibbler instead of just tossing it like most people do when she gives them a copy. "You liked it!? That's awesome! I knew you would! The next edition is going to be even better! My dad's doing a feature on heliopaths!"
Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
Polly flails. " 'Eliopaths? 'Ow interesting! I can't wait to read eet!!! And I'd love to see ze Snorkacks some time too! Reading about zem was so fascinating!"

Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
"Oh right! I told you that I'd show you the snorkacks!" She pulls a plimpie out of her bag and holds it towards the forest. "Here snorky snorkack! Come on out." She waits for a few seconds before out come four snorkacks to greet Polly and Luna. "There they are! This one is Tom, the papa, and the babies are Dotty and Giggity... Aaaannnnd the mama doesn't have a name. We just call her mama."
Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
Polly squeals and flails. "They're adorable, Luna! 'ello you four!" She's totally captivated by them. It was so cool to see a magical creature that most people thought didn't exist.

Luna grins and pats Tom on the head. "You can pet them if you want. They're really friendly. Or you could feed them a plimpie. They won't bite. I promise."
Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
Polly smiles and reaches out to pat Giggity on the head. And I mostly picked Giggity because I still find that name hilarious. "'ello zere!" Her eye's were practically lit up. "I can't believe you guys actually found zem! Was eet difficult?"

Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
"Well, I passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and then I walked through the Lincoln Tunnel. It took a few days of camping out in Sweden and getting lost a lot, but it wasn't too difficult. We found them on accident actually. Remus fell down a hole and when we ran after him, it led us straight to the snorkack family!"
Re: Edge of the Forbidden Forest
[OMR DID YOU HEAR THAT THEY MAY BE PLANNING ON MAKING A MOVIE FROM THE CANDY LAND GAME? *flails* THAT'D BE SO NEAT!]
"Did you stop by Gramma Nut's place? Or go by the Lollipop Woods?!" Wow! Sounds like quite an adventure! Did Remus get 'urt when 'e fell? Eet must 'ave been a deep hole. Were zere tunnels or some zing underground?"

[OMG THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! I WANNA SEE!]
"Erm- he didn't get hurt too bad. The hole was pretty deep, not as deep as Annie's hole though." Her eyes widen as she remembers the tunnels. "There were lots of tunnels! Maybe there's an underground city! That's what I'll look for whenever I go back to Sweden!"
[DBFH I have to go for 20 minutes! I'll be back! -sobs-]

Luna giggles. "That would be awesome! Lets do it! We could plan it out so everything goes perfectly, and then get them when they least expect it!"
