Re: The Apple Trees
Gellert lets a small smile play on his lips, allowing himself a look at Albus- watching the way he bit into his apple, impossibly dorky, adorbale- god, he had to stop thinking this way. Well, at least he wasn't thinking about the length of an esophagus. Or the length of anything. Maybe. "Just finding the Hallows," he said, lightly, "it'll be like a vacation!" He chuckled a little. "Well, yes- I was thinking that too, for the stone and the cloak- but many wizards have had the wand after the Peverell's- that should be the easiest and the most desirable, don't you think?" He asked, looking up at Albus, blue eyes shining. In his minds eye, he could see himself, the Elder Wand held high and Albus beside him...

Re: The Apple Trees
Albus likes to think about lengths quite a bit, though he's never told anyone this before. In fact, he has a measuring tape that he keeps handy just in case. A pink measuring tape because it is fucking awesome. Like this:
Oh, and the 26.9 was just a random number that Kendra pulled out of her ass, but then realized after posting that it has 69. How. Convenient. He briefly thinks of what Gellert says. A little vacation. Does that mean that they'd have to share a tent or something? How in the name of the Muffin Man, who lives on Drury Lane, was he going to control himself and his desires if he is in such close proximity constantly to Gellert? "Do you think that because the elder wand has been passed down and fought over so often, that it'll be easier or more difficult to find?" he questions.

Re: The Apple Trees
Rachel fell off her chair laughing at opening this thread and seeing a pink measuring tape in the shape of a heart. Gellert runs a hand through his hair, and says- with little doubt, "Easier. I mean, so many men have boasted of it, fought over it; the bloody trail of the Elder Wand is splattered over the pages of history. Possessing it, though, will I think be a different matter. Nobody has seen it for almost a century now so the current possessor is sure to be smarter, more modest than the rest," he says, thoughtfully, looking a little troubled, "you haven't heard of anything that sounds like it lately, have you?"

Re: The Apple Trees
"I haven't heard of any wand, no," he mutters, his mind flying through events and information, searching for some sort of clue. He recalls a trip to Diagon Alley a few years back when his younger brother was shopping for his Hogwarts belongings. Ollivander had seemed flustered when they went for Aberforth's wand, muttering under his breath a name which Albus later found to out to be another wandmaker. What if what had troubled Ollivander, was that this other wandmaker had somehow gained possession of the Elder Wand? After all, wandmakers would truly understand how the Elder Wand works and would probably be more than eager to get it. "What if it's a wandmaker," he finds himself musing aloud. "I...I don't recall the name, but a few years back, Olivander was more than troubled when I last saw him. He kept mumbling this name, though I can't remember it now. It was so long ago. Do you think there are many other wandmakers across Europe?" he questions.
[Right...so I'm going to push this thing along a bit, because I figure that we don't have much time before 1.0 ends. So... let me know if this doesn't work or I should change it]

Re: The Apple Trees
[No no it works I was hoping you would go there with it. Especially as we're both going away this week.]
Gellert looked at Albus rather oddly, as he was, after all, Bulgarian, even if Rachel is too lazy to give him the annoying Viktor Krum accent (Luna don't kill me if you're reading this.) "Ollivander?" he asked, puzzled, "I've heard the name before- he's your wandmaker here? You've never heard of Gregorovitch?" he said, half incredulous, "he's widely known as the best wandmaker in the wizarding world- though of course you English do set a rather high store to those who come from the same place as you do." He looked at the apple in his hand, which had been forgotten until that time, and, shrugging, dropped the remains of it at his feet.

Re: The Apple Trees
"Well, everyone in England gets their wand at Ollivanders. Nearly everyone agrees that he's the best wandmaker for the British. Gregorovitch?" he asks, saying the name slowly and letting it roll off his tongue. "Gregorovitch," he repeats softly. "It sounds more than familiar," he says, then closes his eyes for a moment. He tries to go back to the day in Ollivander's, the hustle and bustle of the store as many soon to be first years entered and left with their wands. He pictures Ollivander's face, slight irritation and worry. Done it now, Albus can nearly hear Ollivander mumbling. Him and that wand....spreading fear...falsities...Gregorovitch. Albus opens his eyes, excitement spreading through his body. Was it him? Or was he merely imagining Ollivander saying the name? "I think...I think it's him. I think it may have been Gregorovitch," he says hesitantly, hoping that he's right.

Re: The Apple Trees
Gellert absentmindedly bit his lip in concentration- his mind speeding away from their conversation and back to things that he had heard in his own country. There had been a rumor, an advertisement- yes, Gregorovitch had put it out there that he was replicating the qualities of a very powerful wand- how good for business- and certainly he was a prodigious wand-maker, and a great wizard at that; how difficult it would be to take the wand from him, Gellert was unsure. It had to be it- it all fit, didn't it? But no, perhaps they were just clutching at straws as if forcing the puzzle pieces to fit in the wrong spot...he sighed. "It could be," he says, meeting Albus' light eyes with his own icy blue ones, for the first time forgetting to conceal his doubt.

Re: The Apple Trees
"But then again, it could not be," Albus sighs. His gaze falls to Gellert, allowing their eyes to meet while his mind flashes back to the night in the graveyard. It must have just been a heat of the moment thing, perhaps from all the excitement from finding the name of the brothers. Still, that kiss left him wanting more. How foolish he had been to allow himself to be so vulnerable that night, so foolish and vulnerable now. He pulls his gaze away from Gellert and looks down at the abandoned apple in his hand. How could a man such as Gellert possibly even have some sort of interest in him? Foolish. He sighs inwardly, then allows the apple to fall to the ground and join Gellert's. "Whether or not it is this Gregorovitch, I believe that we should still find him. It's the only lead we have at this moment.

Re: The Apple Trees
Gellert absentmindedly nudged Albus' apple with his foot- looking unflinchingly into Albus' eyes. "You're right," he said, and the words tasted strange in his mouth- after all, it was often- or even ever, that he said them, and he wondered, fleetingly what made Albus special enough to merit them... He pushed the thought out of his mind: he would dwell on it later, while he was alone. "We should do whatever we can- research the other brothers, too. Find out about descendants. Not to mention other foreign wandmakers- there's probably one in France. Questioning people like your Ollivander too, if Gregorovitch turns out not to have it..." he trailed off, looking thoughtful but excited, his foot still resting gently on the apple. "I have a good feeling about this, Albus," he told the other quietly, and even the world Albus was light and sweet on his tongue.

Re: The Apple Trees
Dom thinks that Albus' "apple" would shoot right up if Gellert's foot touched it and then remained touching it... but that's not going to happen in character. Instead, the apple remains on the ground and Albus' eyes watch it for a moment, slightly envious to the touch Gellert is giving the divine fruit. Oh how he longs for Gellert to touch his forbidden fruit. I mean, what. "I agree," Albus says. "I'm sure nearly every large wizarding community has a wandmaker that is the equivalent of Gregorovitch or Ollivander. It's definitely something we should look into. I have a good feeling about this too," he murmurs, his gaze pulling away from the apple and back to Gellert. "If things continue at this rate, it's only a matter of time before we find all of the Hallows. The key is to remain optimistic."

Re: The Apple Trees
He lets out a small laugh, "Well, I don't think we should fool ourselves into underestimating it- surely it'll be no easy job, god, we'll probably dun goof mess up about a million times- Albus," Gellert needed to convey the seriousness of the situation, he needed to make sure that Albus understood the way he felt about this: yes, Gellert had never been able to love people, and so that love- even lust, had translated itself into power, into the dark arts, into this and if Albus- Albus who he felt something for, Albus who he was doing this with didn't get it, he would go on by himself. "No wizard has ever united the Hallows. There is no proof that they even exist, that they're real, that this is real- and yet, I think it is. Nobody is going to give us the wand, or the cloak, or the stone; we may die or be expelled in the process. I'm prepared- I know that whatever happens, it's for the Greater Good. Do you...understand?" he finished, his voice growing quieter and quieter, he willed Albus to show, in his answer, that he really did.

Re: The Apple Trees
Albus' eyes watch Gellert carefully as he drinks in everything that the man says. For a moment, the excitement that they may succeed had consumed all of his thoughts. Yet now, everything that Gellert says brings him back to reality. "I understand," he murmurs in response. "For a moment, the thoughts of success were all I thought of," he admits. "But you're right. I must not get ahead of myself. I want to do this though," he says, his eyes meeting Gellert's. "This success, this power, this glory. I'm willing to do what it takes."

Molly is taking a walk amongst the apple trees. She likes apples. They're much better than bananas. It's been a warm day, so she's dressed in only a tank top and shorts, and has yet to realise that the weather is rapidly turning cool.

Kingsley likes apples too. They're way better than watermelon. He's dressed warmly, with a worn sweater over his long sleeved shirt. He spots Molly and walks over to join her. "Hey Molly. How are you? Aren't you a bit cold?"

Molly, who had been standing with her hands on her hips, contemplating the apples above her, whirls about at the sound of a very distinct voice. She grins brightly. "Oh hey Kingsley! What? Oh... Yeah, I s'pose it is, like, getting a little chilly now. It was super warm out before, though. You know, I totally love apples!" she chatters, because it's been a full twelve minutes since she's spoken to anyone. That's a lot of words to catch up on!

Re: The Apple Trees
Molly grins, her cheeks a little pink. "Thanks! That's really sweet of you!"
She pulls the sweater on. It practically falls off her right away - it hangs off one shoulder, the bottom hem grazes her knees and her hands are completely lost somewhere midway up the sleeves. But it's warm, and it smells nice, and it's very, very soft.
"Wow - this is, like, the most comfortable sweater of all time!" she says, as she practically drowns in a sea of dark, soft yarn.

"You're welcome." Kingsley grins. Molly looks adorable with his sweater on, even though she looks like she's drowning in it. "It's my most favorite sweater. It's a bit old though- needs some help." He laughed. "So what have you been up to since I last saw you?"

Re: The Apple Trees
Molly giggles, because the sweater really is something else on her, and shrugs. "If it's old, why don't you get a new one? One just like it! Oh, me?" she shrugs. "I haven't done much. I finally got to meet my brother's girlfriend, which was, like, awesome. I was kinda worried - usually when he doesn't let me meet his girlfriends it's because there's totally something wrong with them! Or maybe it's that there's something wrong with me, and he, like, needs to prepare them for the experience of having to deal with me or something. Whatever. Anyway, Polly is totally cool. I like her," she says decisively.

[okies!!! and Polly's very happy that Molly likes her. She flailed a lot.]
"I'd get a new one, but I really like this one." Kingsley shrugs. "Polly? I haven't met her yet. Well, I bet she liked you too! You're very likable. And I don't think there's anything wrong with you."

[AW!!! Molly thinks Polly is adorable and sweet and funny. And most importantly, very good for Gideon! ]
Molly grins. "I can totally see why you like it! It's so soft - you know, that kind of soft and comfy that only happens when you have something for, like, years and it's been through the wash a million and one times? Thanks... I like to think I'm likable! Well, I know I am, but there's no accounting for some people's tastes, right?" she giggles.

"Well, I've definitely had it for years, and it's been through the wash a lot. So I'd say it's pretty soft." Kingsley smiled. "As for people's tastes, well, I don't see how anyone could not like you. You're very nice."

Re: The Apple Trees
Molly grins and pushes the sleeves up so her hands can peek out. It's quite a production - there's kind of a lot of fabric between her hands and freedom, but she gets there in the end. Her fingers play with the hems of the sleeves and she tosses her hair back over her shoulder because her hands aren't quite free enough to tuck it behind her ear. "Well the real question is what to do with all these apples! So far I'm seeing two options," she announces, looking up at the trees in contemplation once more. "See I could, like, eat them now in natural apple form and that would be just super and all, and the plus side of that would be that I get apples now," she says, throwing one hand out as if she's weighing up the option in a scale. Then the other hand comes out to indicate the flipside, but the sleeves slide down over her hands again, so it's not so much hand-scales as floppy sweater scales. "OR I could collect a whole bunch of apples and take them back to the kitchens and make them into a pie. The plus side of that is, er, hello - apple pie! Apple pie is, like, amazing. It's like the best thing you could possibly do with apples, except maybe throw them at that guy Gid said picked on Polly once... But then I wouldn't have apples now, and there would be a definite delay between apples and turning them into pie."
She moves her hands up and down, to indicate the Scales of the Fate of the Apples tipping, but not yet settling in any way.

Re: The Apple Trees
Kingsley chuckles lightly, spotting her problem with the sleeves. "Here-" He takes her arm gently and rolls the sleeves up a bit, then he does the same with the other. This way her arms would still be covered but she could actually see, and use, her hands. "There. I bet that's better." He smiles. "As for the apples, how about I help you collect a whole bunch for pie for later but you can still eat one or two now. Apples are pretty good. It'd be shame to waste them by throwing them at guys who pick on others." He frowned. "What sort of guy would do that anyway?"

[awww <3]
Molly flushes a little as he takes her arm, one by one, and rolls the sleeves up for her. Wow. She totally never thought of that. Fail, Mol. "Thanks, Kingsley!" she chirps. "Oh, and people who fail the Douchebag Test would totally pick on other people. And the only reason I wouldn't say 'throw bananas at them' is that bananas don't cause as much damage. I suppose watermelons would... but I doubt I could throw them all that far, so I'd just have to, like," - she mimes picking up a watermelon and smashing it over someone's head at close range - "I guess... And anyway, Viktor and I already have it all worked out. Anyone who fails the test gets trapped on a remote island, with sharks in the waters surrounding it, and fire ants everywhere, and Dementors, which are just the worst things ever. Oh, and they get tethered to Blast-Ended Skrewts and get to eat nothing but my sister's cooking. That's, like, way harsh," she says, smiling brightly as if this is a perfectly pleasant topic of conversation.
"Oh, that's a good idea! Apples for now, and apple pie for later! I like this plan!"
