Luna shrugs and sips her juice. "I've been okay. Nothing new, really," she says, tracing her finger around the rim of the glass before looking back up at Dean. "What about you?"

He shrugged as he took a big drink. "Nothing new either. I'm sort of playing matchmaker with Seamus and Angela.." Even though he'd end up sleeping with Ange >.> "So that's sort of fun."

"Oh. Erm- That's...nice of you," she comments, not sure what to think of this seeing as she doesn't know either of them. "I don't think I've ever met Ang. But that'll be fun for you, I suppose."

He nodded. "Yah. It'll be interesting since Seamus is trying to get over someone else, and Ange really wants a boyfriend." He took another large drink, he was starting to feel awkward again..that was weird.

Ang...The rebound. Hehe. "Oh. That...Well, interesting is a good way to put it." She stands there quietly, sensing Dean's awkwardness, which is odd because they're not usually awkward together. "Um. Are you alright, Dean? You seem...a bit off."

Oh no. Was now the right time? Should he ust tell her the truth? How would she react? He chugged the rest of his drink. "Ummm." C'mon Dean, what kind of Gryffindor are you. "I actually..wanted to...talk to you about...um, something." He swallowed hard.

Luna blinked. She honestly had no clue what Dean had to say that was making him act like this, but she would listen carefully to whatever it was. "Oh. Er- Okay then. What about?"

He started twisting his hands hands. He couldn't look at her. "Well I....Um..." He took a deep breath then rushed out. "I really like you Luna."

Luna blinked. Was that all? Luna is so oblivious it's not funny. "I like you too...You're one of my best friends," she said, glad to see that it really wasn't a big deal after all. Oh boy...

He closed his eyes and sighed. "No, I uh, I like like you. Like, morethanafriend." He was mumbling and still couldn't look at her.

Luna blinked, then blinked again. "Oh," was all she could manage as she tried to take in what Dean was saying to her. He liked her...And she couldn't do anything about it, could she? She had Hermione, but she couldn't tell him that. So for now, an 'oh' is all Dean will get as Luna tries not to die of a panic attack.

Luna wonders where her big bro disappeared to, because now would be a GREAT time for him to show up. COUGH COUGH. "I...I'm sorry, Dean," she says, her eyes showing just how apologetic and sad she really looks to say this. "I just...You're my friend. That's...That's it," she mumbles quietly, feeling like a terrible person for doing this to Dean, but what else can she do?

He looks down, heartbroken. "Right.." He knew she didn't have feelings for him, but it still hurt to hear it. "Is...is there someone else?" He had to know.

Luna looked down at the ground, wishing that she never came to this party because by the looks of it, she's losing her best friend. And now she had no idea how to answer his question, but whatever she tells him is only going to make things worse. She ignores the tears forming in her eyes as she mutters her answer. "No," she lies, feeling that it's for the best. "It's just...I should go. I'm sorry, Dean. I'm so sorry," she apologizes before turning and leaving the Great Hall to go look for the only person she can talk to about this.

He looked up just as she was walking away. He took a step towards her, his hand outstretched, but it was too late. She was gone. He ruined it. He lost one of his best friends because he believed telling her how he felt would be the right thing to do. He dropped his head then went back to the drink table, grabbing too more firewhiskeys. He then went to hide in the shadows somewhere.

Dean is still hiding in the shadows, he's surrounded by empty bottles and he's singing the Akon song, "Lonely." You know the one. Annoying chipmunk voice. Yup, that one.

Ange walks over to the corner, seeing her scantily clad best friend sitting in the corner, alone. "Hey there, another officer. Looks like I've been surrounded myself with them tonight!" She grinned, then faltered, noticing Dean's demeanor. "What's wrong Dean?"

He was too drunk to even tell Angela off for being scantily clad. He pointed at her, with a bottle still in his hand. "I wassmiifng olllf m iee?" Not sure what he was trying to communicate.

Ange sighed and sat down next to him, carefully so as not to rip her costume. "Dean, what the hell happened to you?" It broke her heart to see her best friend like this. She took the bottle from his hand, placing on her other side so Dean couldn't get to it

He looked at her, well he tried to look at her. "I uuss dinkn at!" He tried to glare, but did the opposite and opened his eyes wide like a crazy person.

She shook her head and picked up the bottle, downing what was left so Dean couldn't drink it "Now you're not. It's not good for you, by the looks of it, you've had enough as it is. Now tell me what happened Dean. Why are you so drunk??"
