Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Remus looks over and does indeed turn slightly red. "I don't generally get hurt all that much. Just some occasional bruises, but obviously that's not going to bother me that much. Not when I already have enough marks that people see all the time." he bites his lip, disappearing around a shelf or two for a bit then comes back with a book. "There we go. This should help me a bit. It's about potions. I'm hopeless at that class and I figured that, besides the tutoring, I would do some extra reading on the subject."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"You're cute when you blush, by the way. Do that on your date, and she'll probably melt," he teased playfully, looking at Remus, but his breath catches, when he mentions the permanent marks. He stands up and walks over to Remus, placing a hand lightly on his shoulder and leaned down to look him in the eye. "When I look at you, I don't see scars, I see Remus Lupin, who's a rather adorable, intelligent nerd, whose company I enjoy very much. And almost everyone else sees the same thing. They don't see what you do, when you look in the mirror, Remus," he said slowly and cautiously, not wanting to upset him. "But perhaps it's not my place to say that."
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Remus is stuck between looking like a deer caught in headlights and just really awkward and red. His thoughts are going between 'omg he's touching me' to 'wait did he say I was adorable?' to 'how do I respond to this?' and so forth. Yeah. His face has gone quaffle red and he swallows nervously before replying. "I...you..well, thanks?" he was finding it sort of hard to look Caradoc in the eye. "That was...really nice of you. I'm just...sorry, I have a hard time responding to this sort of thing." he felt silly and awkward. Which is kind of normal, after all 'awkward' is his middle name. Haha. Yeah..no, maybe not, but it was amusing. "And...well, there's a lot about me that people aren't seeing, so maybe they're not getting the most exact impression of me."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"How about a hug, friend?" he suggested, opening his arms as an invitation, as he smiled at him. "Not everyone sees you, but I do, and I still mean every word of that. So there," he says firmly, hoping Remus doesn't think he's overstepping boundaries here, by saying what he has been, because he doesn't want to frighten him off-- he wants to be his friend. "Also, I don't think I've seen anyone ever turn quite that red before."
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"Oh..yeah, I tend to turn red a lot. It's sad really." Remus wasn't too sure about the hug, but he gives Caradoc a brief hug anyway because he offered and Remus didn't want to hurt his feelings by declining. It wasn't a bad hug either, and Remus does not totally find himself thinking about how nice Caradoc's body feels. Not at all. Because he's not gay...at least that's what he's still telling himself. "You're really nice. It means a lot to me, everything you've said. About last time we spoke...I told you I'd talk to you about some things..you remember? After I reacted to you touching my face? I was thinking about it and...I know I can trust you. I'd tell you my secret but I think you've already figured it out, haven't you?" Remus wasn't completely sure, but Caradoc's reaction last time had him thinking Rad did know.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"Yeah, I know, and I'm sorry about touching your face, I didn't mean to be insensitive, I just wasn't thinking, Remus," he said, smiling softly at him. "I wouldn't have figured it out, if I hadn't seen the same scars on someone else, all too recently. I lied to you, about my friend, it's not a friend back home, it's someone here, I just didn't want to say anything that might give him away, at the time. But yes, I know, and it doesn't make a damned bit of difference to me," he said, looking down into Remus' eyes, being much taller.

"Thanks, Rad." Remus looked up at the taller man. "That means a lot to me, it does. I just don't know what to say... Wait...your friend is someone here?" Why couldn't Remus have known there was another werewolf here? He hadn't really met any other werewolves before and some part of him longed to.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Caradoc shifted uneasily, and nodded slowly. "He's here. But I know you'll understand that I can't tell you who it is, it would be a betrayal of trust. But yeah. It's someone who means very much to me, and I'm doing all I can for him. But he's why I knew, he's the same way about his scars, or he was, until he finally realized he's still beautiful to me," he replied, missing Tristan sincerely, having not spoken to him in a few days.
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Remus nods in understanding. "I definitely understand. Being in this situation...well, trust is rather important. Besides you, the teachers, Dean, and my dorm mates, minus Viktor, are the only ones here at school who know about me being a werewolf. The teachers obviously had to know, and Dean's my brother so of course he'd know. As for my dorm mates...well, I told them early on, but I was really nervous about it. Sirius, James, and Peter were my first real good friends and I didn't want to lose them, but I trusted them enough to tell them and I'm glad I did - they've been so wonderful. I appreciate having them in my life everyday - even when James and Sirius do something stupid that could almost totally get us expelled or something." he adds with a laugh.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Caradoc smiled at that and nodded. "It's nice, that you've got friends like them, then. And though this goes without saying, I'll say it anyway, your secret's safe with me, don't worry. I wouldn't break anyone's trust, especially not something quite so serious," he said, his sincerity clear in his voice as he looked at his friend. "Speaking of Sirius, actually, is he still bothering Viktor? Viktor mentioned he was being something of an ass, acting all homophobic, I was just hoping Viktor wasn't getting any more shit from him, 'cause I'm not sure he'd tell me," he asked, actually frowning, slightly. AND WHEN CARADOC FROWNS, YOU KNOW IT'S A BIG DEAL, I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HE COULD FROWN.
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"Thanks, Rad. I trust you." Remus smiles. He frowns slightly at Caradoc's question about Sirius. "I really hope he hasn't. I haven't really heard anything about them hanging out lately, so I have no idea how they've been acting around each other. I told Viktor I'd talk to Sirius about it, if he wanted me to."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"Ah, alright. Just wondering, was all. On another note, does he seriously have a cock piercing, or is Viktor just trying to bullshit me, little bastard!? Because I'm not gonna lie, that's fuckin' awesome, dude," he declared, and Eowyn tells Sirius not to run away, because she won't let the scary Rad rape him.
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Remus does not go red. Nope, not. at. all. *blinks* "Er...yeah. He does." Caradoc better not ask for details because Remus can't give him any. He had been too busy hiding behind his book at the time.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Hermione is here, at a strategically placed desk behind the shelves. She's hiding from sight of the entrance, hoping to continue avoiding one awkward Percy Weasley after their awkward disaster of an awkward date. She pushes her hair behind her shoulders and bends a little further over her Transfiguration textbook, committing magical formulas to memory.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Luna walks into the library, hoping she might run into Hermione in here because that date should be over by now. She walks through the bookshelves, keeping her fingers crossed that the date was horrible and it's never going to happen again. She turns a corner and despite the fact that Hermione might have had a wonderful date with Percy and fell in love-- Ha, yeah right- her face lights up and she walks over and sits down next to her friend. "Hello, Hermione," she says softly because they are in a library after all. "I see you survived that date..."
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Hermione glances up and smiles in relief as Luna joins her. Luna's always amazing to talk to, and she would never, ever laugh at Hermione. "Hi, Luna," she returns, her voice barely above a whisper. She grimaces, not even trying to keep the awful, awkward truth from her friend. "Honestly? There were times when I didn't think I would survive it. Oh, Luna, it was just awful!"

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Luna sighs in relief, but quickly turns it into a convincing cough once she's realized what she's just done. Oops. She gives Hermione a small, sympathetic smile, resisting the urge to happy dance around the library. "Aw, I'm sorry, Hermione. But at least it's over with now. You'll never have to go on another date with Percy again, which is good because I have a feeling he would make any date awkward," she says with a small smile.
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Hermione's too busy being comforted by Luna's sympathetic smile to notice the sigh of relief, and she manages a tremulous smile in return. "I suppose you're right. It was just... so wrong. It could not have possibly felt more wrong, I don't think. Half the time I think he was completely oblivious to how uncomfortable I was, and we could barely keep a conversation going," she says with a sigh, pushing in annoyance at the hair that insists on tumbling over her shoulder. "I don't know what possessed me to even agree to it to begin with."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Luna wishes Hermione would quit doing that. Her hair looks pretty when it's over her shoulder like that, and it frames her face perfectly. But more than that, Luna wishes she had the woman-balls to tell Hermione that. "Because you're a nice person who would never hurt anyone," she says softly, hoping Percy the Prat knew just how lucky he was to go on a date with Hermione, and that it didn't go to his head because she did it to be nice. Not because she liked him.
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Hermione blushes a little and looks away. "You're just trying to cheer me up," she mutters. "It's not as though I've had many other offers, Luna, Or any at all, really," she sighs, thinking about how the last time someone had asked her to be their date for something, it had been Viktor at the Yule Ball. And, well, his sexuality really speaks for itself, doesn't it? She shakes her head. "I don't know, maybe I'm to blame. Perhaps the reason this whole disaster of a date was so awkward was my fault. At one point I thought he was going to hold my hand, and the thought was simply repulsive! That's not exactly normal, is it?" she whispers, hardly able to stop herself confiding in her friend now that she's opened the floodgates. "Given the evidence, I do have to consider that this could very well be my failing as much as his."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Luna's jaw drops. That is the most ridiculous idea she's ever heard. More ridiculous than the time that Slytherin told her that Wrackspurts weren't real. "That's not true!" she says, a bit too loudly for a library setting. Oops. "That's not true," she says again, much quieter this time. "It wasn't your fault that the date was horrible. It's Percy! I wouldn't want to hold his hand either. I don't think anyone would. He's just...the most awkward person ever. You could take the coolest, most confident person in the school and send them on a date with Percy, and it would still be awkward."
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"That might be exaggerating just a touch," Hermione says fairly, unable to hold in a smile because Luna's far better at cheering people up than she probably realises. "Still, he is incredibly awkward, even by my standards. Thanks, Luna - I feel better. Oh, here," Hermione says, reaching out and brushing a stray splatter of ink from Luna's pale, smooth cheek with her thumb. "You had a little ink there," she explains, still whispering though there's nobody around them right now, and slowly withdraws her hand once she's sure it's all gone.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Luna feels her face heat up as Hermione's soft hand touches her face, and wishes she could just take Rad's advice and tell her friend how she feels. But...She can't. That would just ruin everything between them, right? Right. "Thanks," she murmurs softly as she looks down at her hands in her lap before forcing herself to look up at her friend's pretty face. "And I glad you feel better. I don't think you're awkward at all."
