Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Well then, I guess everything's wrapped up in a neat little package! Really, I mean that. Sorry if it sounded sarcastic. *doesn't think anyone will get the reference, but votever.* Hermione smiles and looks over from her own book to Luna's. "Anything you want to go over together?" she asks softly, knowing that Potions is not Luna's strongest subject.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"Um. Well, the Draught of Peace is sort of tricky," she says with a shrug because she doesn't have the Half Blood Prince's book to help her out. "Do you know much about that?" Luna's not sure why she asked that, of course Hermione knows about it. She knows about everything.
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Hermione's lips press into a thin line of disapproval, because the Half-blood Prince's instructions were NOT the official instructions! "It's a very tricky potion, it takes a lot of concentration. And the official instructions will give you passable results with the right attention to detail," she says, because one should follow the official instructions. I wonder how many more times I'll write 'official instructions' before someone comes along to pull that stick outta Hermione's arse.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
*covers Luna's ears* Viktor can help with that.
Luna listens intently, though she was sort of hoping for some magical little trick to make the tricky potion easier. Oh well, she'll just use her Ravenclaw skills to help her out even though the idea of following official instructions never really amused her. "Hm. That makes sense, I suppose. I think that's why I never really got potions though. The whole following instructions exactly never really suited me much."

Hermione blinks. "I've never considered that perspective before. In a Potions class, the instructions are the key to success, aren't they? They're how you can safely and successfully brew the potion you set out to create," she says earnestly. She wanted to say something about safety and things going horribly wrong, but Mya stopped her because it would be insensitive to the fact that Luna's mother died in a magical accident.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"Exactly. I think that's why it's not as easy for me as other classes. Following instructions has never exactly been my thing," she admitted with a sheepish grin. Plimpie soup doesn't have instructions. Luna just throws the stuff in there until it tastes perfect. Mhm. Well, she thinks it tastes perfect. Some people aren't too fond of how plimpie soup tastes.

"Well, I do admire your talent for innovation," Hermione says with a smile. "It's really quite admirable, the way you see things in ways that other people don't consider," she whispers, her hand relishing the contact between the two of them as her big brown eyes rest on Luna's face with no small amount of affection.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Luna beamed because compliments from Hermione always mean the world to her, and it's just starting to hit her now that she really has missed Hermione these past few days or however long they've gone without seeing each other. Maybe a week or so even though it feels like forever since Luna and Hermione have both been rather neglected recently. Oops. "Well, it'd be rather boring if everyone saw things the same way, don't you think?" She smiled and continued moving her thumb in soft circles against her girlfriend's hand, feeling perfectly content with sitting here and talking with Hermione, though they haven't snogged in quite some time and Luna doesn't like that. "Though I'm not surprised you're so good at potions and instructions. You're brilliant, Hermione."
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Hermione's eyes shine with happiness at Luna's compliment, because even though objectively she knows she's brilliant it really is nice to hear. Especially from someone who means as much to her as Luna does. She's just about to respond when her watch emits a little beep-beep-beep. Hermione sighs, silencing the offending timepiece. "I'm sorry, I have to go," she murmurs. "Just when we finally get a chance to see each other, too..." Not looking too happy about having to leave her girlfriend behind, Hermione packs her belongings up. Glancing around to ensure their privacy, she swoops in and plants a long, but mostly chaste, kiss on Luna's mouth. "Bye Luna," she whispers, and slips away.

Luna isn't too happy when her girlfriend has to leave so soon, but she doesn't mind that goodbye kiss in the least and quietly whispers a soft 'goodbye' to her girlfriend as she walks away, before gathering up her own supplies and leaves the library alone.

Fred is here, trying to find some books on transfiguration and such for that prank he's been planning with Alicia.

Fred hears someone behind him and turns around to see Alicia, grinning at the sight of his friend. "Well, look who it is. Come to save me from the horror of reading all these books, I hope."

"Books are not horrifying," Alicia says with a chuckle, "but Potions essays are." She perches herself on the edge of the table. "Whatcha doin'?"

"Urgh. Maybe if Slughorn actually liked me things would be different with that," he groans as he leans against a bookshelf. "I was trying to find some books to help us with that mirror charm we were thinking of, but nothing yet," he says with a sigh, closing the book he had in his hands and putting it back on the shelf. "What about you? What've you been up to since we last plotted together?"

"Erm, well, I have not been plotting, I am sad to say. I suppose I've been doing my usual thing, you know. Quidditch, classes, homework. I lead a exciting life, do I not?"

"You do! Almost as exciting as what I've been up to which has consisted of making smores in the common room and wandering the school halls in search of people to entertain me."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Alicia's mouth dropped open. "You made s'mores in the Common Room? And you didn't invite me?" She frouted and crossed her arms across her chest in mock anger. "I will never speak to you again. Starting now."

"I-- Uh. But you..." His jaw drops as he looks at Alicia in mock shock which rhymes. "But what if I told you that I was planning a special occasion in which we roasted s'mores together and camped out in the common room all night long, telling scary stories and whatnot?"

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Alicia looked at Fred through narrowed eyes. "And we could have Canary Creams and run around like loons on loon tablets? And you would let me have the last marshmallow just because you're a nice person who forgot me the first time around?" She grinned at him.

"The last marshmallow," he mumbled to himself, putting his hands in his pockets as he rocked back and forth on his feet, pretending to think this over. "Hmm. I suppose, but don't think I do this for just anyone. The last marshmallow is a rather sacred snack, after all."

"So I must be special then," Alicia said with a grile. "Good to know. I'd give you the last marshmallow too, you know, if you hadn't already promised it to me."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Fred can't help but to return the grile, because he's always thought that Alicia has a pretty gream and a pretty smile, so just combining the two is quite a view. "Well, we could always share it, you know. I mean, there's only one last marshmallow and once it's gone, it's gone forever," he says with a very serious nod.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Alicia pretended to think it over for a moment, but she nodded. "Alrighty then. But you get to split it, and I get to pick, in case the parts are uneven. Then I can get the bigger one."

Fred chuckled and nodded. "Alright. You get to choose. Wouldn't want my friend to be forced into eating the smaller half-- And what if it was all black and burnt? Can't have you eating that now, can we?"
