Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Justina swoons as she watches Viktor through the books, following him as he walks down the lines of shelves. If only she could just climb over this barrier between them and talk to him again. She remembered their first talk in the Great Hall. The way their eyes met. Viktor had felt something that day, just like she had. He was just too afraid to admit it because he'd never felt this way before.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Viktor is totally oblivious to his worst nightmare. He finally finds the book and pulls it off the shelf to reveal Justina's face looking right back at him. "OHMYGOD!" he yelled as he dropped the book to the ground and jumped backward, hitting his back against the shelf behind him. Hopefully Hermione isn't too mad at him for dropping a book. This is Justina we're talking about after all. "Vot. Are. You. Doing. Here?"

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Justina smiles like a crazy person when Viktor pulls the book away. Oh no! He's backing away! Noooooo! "Viktor, don't be scared. These feelings are totally normal," she explains calmly as she squeezes herself through the empty space on the bookshelf. "Just relax and listen to your heart! That's why I did! And it brought me here...to you!" She falls to the ground with a loud thud and just lays there like a lump for a moment.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Normally, Viktor would help a fallen girl up, but this is Justina, so the second she's on the ground he is out of there like a dog with it's tail on fire. He ignores Madam Pince for telling him to stop running because he just needs to get away from Justina, and fast!

Justina cries and crawls back to her underground hole. It's near Annie's hole out on the grounds.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Kingsley is in the library and is standing in front of a shelf browsing through the books on wizard law. Surprise surprise. A group of first or second years – sometimes Kingsley finds it hard to tell which year the younger students are in – were being slightly louder than necessary and he turned, taking a step over to tell them to be quiet when…

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Remus was on his way out of the library, carrying a whole stack of books in front of him to take outside to read. You think he’d stop carrying them like that after all the times he’s run into people. He rounds the corner of a bookshelf and finds himself running into a wall that he was sure hadn’t been there before. Luckily, only one book falls from his stack, but now he has to set all the rest down to pick that one up. What a bother. He sets the books down and turns back to pick up the book when he notices that the ‘wall’ he’d run into was not a wall at all. It was a person. A very tall, muscle-y man, who Remus remembers is one Kingsley Shacklebolt. He lets out a small squeak and freezes half-way towards picking up the book.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Kingsley barely feels it when the other guy runs into him. He looks to the side, wondering why anyone would carry a stack of books that covered their line of vision, and watches as Remus Lupin sets the books down before reaching for the book that fell. Then Remus spots him and freezes. Kingsley’s used to this sort of reaction and, only slightly annoyed for the moment, reaches down to pick up the book, holding it out for Remus to take. “Remus Lupin, you shouldn’t carry so many books if you can’t see over them.”

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Remus takes the book and nods vigorously. “Y-you’re absolutely right. I really shouldn’t carry so many at one time. Silly me, why would I do something like that? I have no idea, do you have any idea? No, you couldn’t –we’ve hardly spoken together before. Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked that. I’ll be more careful next time. I didn’t hurt you did I? I’m very sorry if I did. Though, I mean, you look sort of like the book would just bounce off of you – oh, that’s not an insult or anything, honest. It was like a compliment, yep yep, a compliment. Cause you look all strong and stuff, yeah. Actually right now you look annoyed. Are you annoyed? Am I annoying you? Should I shut up? Yeah, I should just stop talking now. That’s a good idea isn’t? Sometimes I have tho-“

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
“Yes. Please, just stop rambling.” Kingsley is annoyed. This guy talked too much, or, at least, did so anyway when he was nervous, it would seem. Kingsley doesn’t like it when people ramble on and waste words. Get to the point, that’s his opinion. Yep yep. “Be careful next time and watch where you’re going.” He figures it’s about time to leave – he has a headache now as well.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
“Oh I will. I most definitely will.” Remus continues to nod, trying to remember if the Giant Man eats people because he doesn’t want to get eaten. He’ll do anything, well, almost anything, just so he won’t get eaten by the giant man. “Er, anyway...I’m not normally like this, well, I can be. I do sort of ramble on a lot, don’t I? Mostly when I’m nervous or in danger of being eaten by a giant – NOT that I mean you, of course. I’m just…well, normally I’m rather quiet.” Remus nods vigorously, his voice still a few octaves higher than normal.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Remus wonders if he should use muting spell on himself or not. This Kingsley fellow doesn’t seem to like people who talk a lot. But, as it is, rambling can happen at the worst of times. “So, you were coming out of the wizarding law section. Is that something you’re really interested in? Well, I would assume so since I don’t really know anyone who would just go into that section for the heck of it. I may have, actually.” He shrugs, “But that’s just me. Anyway, is there anything in particular about wizarding law you’re interested in? Eek,” Remus looks up, trying not to make eye contact with the giant scary man, feeling stupid for saying ‘eek.’ No one says ‘eek’ anymore, or ever probably, well, except Amethyst. She says it all the time. “You don’t have to answer any of that. Sorry, I was just curious.”

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Kingsley sighs and decides to sit, because if this nerdy looking guy continues to ask this many questions then he’ll be here for a while. And sometimes he just wishes people would make eye contact with him. It came in handy a lot to be intimidating, but sometimes it was just tiresome. “I plan on working for the Ministry after Hogwarts and I consider it important to know about every part/section of our government.”

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Remus frowns a bit – he’s not particularly a fan of the Ministry, for obvious reasons, well, obvious to those who know about his condition anyway. “So…you’re learning about everything. Maybe you could be Minister some day!” he chuckled lightly, sitting down as well. “Anything in particular you’re striving to achieve?”

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
“A lot, actually.” Kingsley nods, “I’m really hoping to change the laws concerning restrictions and such on certain magical beings – like house elves and werewolves. Then there’s just other stuff pertaining to certain laws and such that I’m hoping to make better for the magic community. To be honest, I’m not much of a fan when it comes to today’s Ministry. There’s a lot that needs to be changed, in my opinion.” Kingsley has no idea why he’s going on about this stuff. He never thought anyone was interested so he’d never get into much detail.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Remus blinks. “Werewolves and house elves? May I ask what exactly you’re planning on changing about their current restrictions and such?” he couldn’t help but sound interested. Remus hated the Ministry’s current laws concerning werewolves – especially considering it ended up controlling about more than half of how he lived his life. “Sorry, I keep asking all these questions...I’m not a big fan of today’s Ministry myself.”

“Didn’t ever see myself talking to you about this stuff.” Kingsley can’t help but grin slightly cause he likes having someone to talk to about these sorts of topics. “Well, how much do you already know about the laws pertaining to them?”

“Well, then you’re aware that it’s harder for them to get jobs and join in societal things because they’re not generally accepted in society – which is utter BS in my opinion.”

Remus decides he rather likes this Kingsley fellow - even though he's still really kind of terrified of him. He nods and waits for Kingsley to continue.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
“Honestly, werewolves aren’t that dangerous all the time – only during the full moon. So why are people so afraid of them any other time? One of my uncle’s best friends is a werewolf and I spent tons of time with him when I was younger – it wasn’t until two years ago that I even learned he was a werewolf. He’s one of the nicest guys I know. It’s ridiculous that they shouldn’t get full rights like any other normal witch or wizard. So that’s what I’m hoping to change. As for house elves, that’s going to be a harder task. See, they like the way things are for them. So we wouldn’t want to make them miserable by telling them that suddenly they’re all free, right? The most we can really do for them is to make sure that rules are set that they have to be treated fairly and if they want wages...well, then there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be allowed to have them, right?”

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Remus doesn’t even know what to say to all that. He’s thinking about it of course, he just doesn’t know how to respond - especially to the werewolf stuff. “You leave people with lots to think about, Kingsley. I definitely have to agree with you – house elves do seem to like the way things are, but it’d be better if they were treated with more respect. You know, I hope you succeed, Kingsley. AndI’mnotjustsayingthatbecauseIwantyoutolikemesoyoudon’tkillmeoranything.” He says very quickly, “I really do mean it. I agree that the current Ministry could use some changes, and you seem to have the right idea.” He grabbed his books and stood up. “I have to get going now.”

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
“Why thank you, Lupin.” He shook his head, chuckling lightly to himself as he watched the younger guy walk off. Remus Lupin was okay. Kingsley got up and left the library himself.
This scene could have been so much more fun but lazy Amethyst was lazy and didn't feel like writing any more of it.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Pansy was sitting in the floor of the library behind some shelves, not because she had something against tables, just because she didn't want to be easily found. She didn't want Draco to come track her down to finish what they'd started, and she wasn't exactly in the best of moods to be talking to any of her friends about it either, so she took a seat in the floor back behind some bookshelves to read a while. Not sure why Sirius is going to be in a library, but whatever, it works. Maybe he's lost.
