Audrey is a nerd. Audrey would like to study. Tam wants to play her star wars battle game and is depressed she no longer has a PC to play it on. Audrey walks in and sees her friend, picking up some books along the way she goes to sit next to her. "Hey you, where have you been hiding?"

Hermione looks up and smiles while Mya tries to think of ways to send Tammikins a PC so she can nerd out over her star wars game. "Hi. I've been here, like usual. How're you?" she asks, pushing her hair back off her shoulders lest Audrey gets the wacky notion to start 'fixing' it again.

Audrey is blinking and would like to know why she's not allowed to fix it or know about Mya's hot girlfriend. "I've been great, meeting people, doing things, working hard, you know the drill." She watched Mya push her hair back and resisted the urge to mutter a spell that would braid it back. "What are you studying for? Are you working on that arithmancy project yet?" As she asked she knew it was a stupid question because unless Mya was distracted by SOMEONE she would totally have started it already.

Because Hermione already died of humiliation once, and her hair is just fine the way it is... in her own mind. She smiles guiltily, because she has not started that Arithmancy project yet, it completely slipped her mind. "Erm, no. I'm working on my Potions essay - I'll be doing Arithmancy over the weekend, ready for next week," she says smoothly. "Meet anyone interesting?" she wonders, because Audrey always has interesting stories of interesting people.

"You haven't started it yet?" Audrey gave her a suspicious look but let it drop. For now. "Well I actually met a slytherin in the showers, Scorpius Malfoy. And well you know what happens when I meet people" She smirked and pulled out her muggle chemistry book.

"Potions is due first," Hermione says innocently. Then she blushes slightly, reading into Audrey's words. Mya just wrote Tam and then wondered why it looked funny. Oops. "Have you tried not letting that happen when you meet people? You know, just for a change? It's not a handshake, you know."

"Well I do give them a handshake. It's just not generally my hand with their hand." She giggled because Tam just remembered that she can use the word giggle because AUDREY IS A GIRL! And also because Audrey loves seeing Mya blush. "And I know potions is due first but it was assigned quite a while ago. What have you been doing Ms Granger?"

Hermione blushes deeply, equal parts for what she's been up to and for Audrey's words. "You're incorrigible, Audrey Stevenson," she says. "I've been busy working on the updated manifesto for S.P.E.W. I got a new member the other day, and he's going to design a logo," she says excitedly.

"Aww! Hermione Granger, you're too kind!" She internally sighed about S.P.E.W. but she knew it was important to Mya so she supported it, "Who's the new member? I always thought Hogwarts was almost devoid of artists... it's one of the few things I don't like about this school! Where is the arts program!!?!?!?!"

"Oh, Dean Thomas, he's in Gryffindor too," she says, stamping on that little niggling feeling of jealousy that pricks at her as she remembers how he'd gone on and on about Luna, and how close they were, and how well they worked together. "I think he's made some banners for the Quidditch team in the past," she says absently, because Hermione really does not care for such things. "Hopefully he'll be able to come up with a nice logo, and we can sell badges and everything then. It's something I really want to focus on this year, because I know next year with NEWTs I simply won't have the time to dedicate to it!"

"That's so true, and if you could sell badges and things it would do a lot for fundraising" And Tam totally just realized that the way it is in her head Audrey is a year older than Mya which is weird but whatever. She flipped open her chem book and started to read about moles and interatomic bonds because that is what Tam is actually doing right now but for physics.

Well everyone else that would normally be associated with Hermione is a 7th year, but I wanted her to be in 6th. *shrugs* She went on sabbatical to France for a year, and now she's a year behind or something, I guess. "Exactly! And the more fundraising we can do, the more educational leaflets we can produce! I'm hopeful that we can really raise a lot of awareness and bolster our numbers," she says, turning back to her Potions work and studying for a few minutes in companionable silence.

Audrey worked for a little then remembered something, "I met Viktor Krum today, I hear you made him a study schedule" She grinned at her friend, knowing she made them for everyone.

Audrey's gaydar had gone wild but at the same time there had been something in his eyes when he'd talked about Hermione that has made him wonder if there was something more there. Maybe... Hermione makes an 'oops' face at Audrey in response to all Pince's glaring, but her eyes belie her amusement. "He is very handsome," Hermione says, smiling innocently because she thinks the world of her best friend and would happily tell anyone who stands still long enough how handsome and friendly and sweet and studious he is with no thought to how it might sound. Viktor's gay after all, and although virtually nobody knows it (two more people than strictly need to, in Hermione's opinion) Hermione herself is in a relationship.

Audrey thinks there might be something here but Hermione is being so damn sneaky about all of this that HER BEST FRIEND doesn't know what exactly is up and doesn't like this. At all. Especially because she would totally approve of Luna for her BFF because she loves them both and thinks they are fucking adorable together. But I digress. "And you'll be glad to know that when I met Viktor all we did was shake hands and by hands I do actually mean the things attached to the ends of our arms."

If Hermione wasn't deathly afraid of this whole 'shagging a chick' thing, there wouldn't be a problem and she'd happily tell Audrey all about her sexcapades. With much blushing, I'm sure. But the awkward turtle is an awkward and afraid turtle, and here we are. Hermione can't help but giggle, clapping a hand over her mouth to stifle the sound lest they get more scandalilsed looks from Madame Pince. "Well, I should imagine so - Viktor's gay," she whispers, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.

Audrey chuckled at what Hermione seemed to think was a sneaky whisper, "You know I had figured that out... well at least that he has an interest in guys." She kept to herself her thoughts on who else Viktor might have an interest in. Glancing over she saw that Pince was occupied showing a first year where to find things and she smirked, "How much do you think Pince hates me? After all I am corrupting her favourite student."
