Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Ted knelt down next to her, touching her gently on the shoulder. "More bruises? Andi are you still with him?" He shook his head slightly and reached for the shelf, pulling out Macbeth and handing it to her. "Here try this one."

Andi refused to meet Ted's eyes. "They are a few days old. I haven't seen him in a while." She drew in on herself, building walls between herself and Ted's disapproval. She didn't take the book from his hand. "What's it about?"

Ted didn't push it right now, instead savoring the news that even though they weren't separated yet she hadn't seen him in a while. He looked down at the book in her hands and smiled, "About a man who thought he had the right to be a king and do what he pleased when really he was just murdering and stealing his way to the top."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
[I set it up so after this there can be a scene so Andi can tell Ted of the breakup.]
Andi sighed. "It sounds..." she wrinkled her nose, "much like nowadays. Men who think they have the right to rule, Dark Lords born to rule, men who think the can dominate women... what's the difference?" She shrugged and looked at Ted. "I feel like I am losing touch with reality. Like nothing matters anymore but Evan being away for another day, so I can have another day for my body to heal. And I know so much more is going on, but... but... I just don't care!" She turned her back on Ted. "I don't care who dies because I am not being hit. I know I should feel guilty about it, but I can't." Andi, realizing what she had said, pressed her hands against her babbling mouth.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Ted nodded, "It is rather reflective. I think you should read it, it's something I think you'd enjoy." He flicked along the shelf and pulled another. "Though if you want something more cheerful there's always this one." He handed her a book with gilt flowers up the front. "It's the story of fairies and a love potion."
[Okay cool! This can just me a casual meeting then. He'll save the asking for next time do you think? Or go for it now?]

[Maybe later? So she can be single and reject him? Because she isn't that far along yet?]
"Fairies?" Andi laughed. "Can I have that one? I like the sound of it much better!" She relaxed again, as Ted glossed over her outburst. She liked that he did that. He knew when to hold his point, gently making her see the truth, and when to stop pressing, to pretend he hadn't heard anything. She took the book with the flowers from him, her hand brushing lightly against his. She blushed and removed her hand quickly. "Sorry." She gently ran her finger around the edges. "It's beautiful," she breathed in delight.

Ted smiled at the delight on her face. "I've always enjoyed it. It's very different to Hamlet. What did you think of that by the way? I assume you liked it because you're back for more." He watched her face as she flicked through the book, enjoying the excitement in her eyes at the prospect of reading more of the bard.

"Hamlet was beautiful!" Andi gushed, smile widening. "I won't pretend I totally understood it, but it was just beautiful! To thine own self be true!" Andi began to gesture wildly with her hands, her excitement bleeding into her gestures. "Hamlet's entreaty to have his story remembered! It was all so beautiful!" She smiled at Ted. "I loved it!"

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Ted laughed and sat down next to her. "It's one of my personal favourites, then again I feel like I say that about almost any shakespeare." He gave her a sheepish grin, "You'll see how it is though, every time you read one you love it more and more but then you remember another and that was just as good but completely different."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"I can't wait to read more!" Andi smiled at Ted. She realised he had moved into a new category in her mind. He was now a friend. Andi realised how sacrilegious that thought was. She was a Black, a pureblood, how could she be friends with a Mudblood? It was wrong, it was against everything she had been taught her entire life. But she couldn't feel guilty about it. Ted had been there when she was at her lowest, and had stood by her.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Ted would always stand by her no matter what. "When you're done with that one I'll show you some other great muggle literature I think you might like. Though honestly Shakespeare really is the best, I always end up coming back to his works in the end."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Andi hesitated, knowing if she agreed to read other Muggle authors, she would be starting something that couldn't be stop. She would be turning her back of her family values, her pureblood education. How could she do that? But how could she not? "I'd... I'd like that." She smiled widely at Ted. "I feel like you are that, what was that ridiculous belief? Oh! The snake tempting me to eat an... an... apple?" She laughed.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Ted laughed, "Yeah that's right. Where did you get that from? It's in the muggle bible." And Tam just realized that that would make Eve a parseltongue and Adam didn't know what was happening because he can't speak snake.... O.O and now Tam wants to go re-read (or read for a first time) the bible to study this.... >.>

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"Oh, Mother loves to talk about the Muggle Bible. She says only idiots would believe something like that, and then say that stoning witches is okay. Because Eve was clearly a Parseltongue, so Mother thinks we are related to her. We can't trace that far back, but Mother is sure. That was all she talked about when I saw her when I was eight. You remember the few interactions you have, you know?" Andi gave a sad smile. She hated remembering how little she saw her parents as a child, but loved remembering the good interactions.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Ted chuckled slightly and looked around, certain there must be a copy of it somewhere around here. When he couldn't see it from his vantage point on the floor he gave up, "It makes sense really, I think the witch burning was more trying to destroy what muggles didn't understand. All histories, muggle and magical, are full of that." Ted shook his head, "But that's a depressing thought process. So what was your favourite scene in Hamlet?"

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Andi bit her lip in thought. "I live Polonius's speech, and the ending. But I don't think I could pick an all time favourite scene. Every word was perfectly chosen, they fit the scene perfectly! How on earth could could I pick?" Andi sighed in contentment. She let her mind wander back over the scenes, the way the danced in her head, each sounding perfect.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Ted laughed a little, "I feel that way sometimes too. Though for me with Hamlet the obvious two top choices are the play within the play and Ophelia's death. I love the speech that the queen gives,
'Which time she chanted snatches of old tunes;
As one incapable of her own distress,
Or like a creature native and indued
Unto that element: but long it could not be
Till that her garments, heavy with their drink,
Pull'd the poor wretch from her melodious lay
To muddy death.'"
Ted smiled at her, a soft blush on his cheeks. He always forgot that not everyone was quite as big of a fan as him.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Andi smiled softly as Ted spoke the lines. "You have a lovely voice." She blushed as she said that, suddenly scared Evan would know and hear. "How much do you have memorized? I don't know it that well. Not fair!" She laughed. "Though to be fair, you've had more time to learn it."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Ted's blush deepened for a moment when she complemented his voice before receding as the talk turned back to shakespeare, "Well my mum always said I had a bit of an eidetic memory but if you ask me it only works for things that aren't exams. Things like Shakespeare and random facts."

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Andi looked a bit puzzled. "A what memory? Don't be ridiculous! If you are going to make up funny words, don't. It's just rude." Her slightly harsh words were negated by a tender smile. She enjoyed spending time with Ted. He was just generally sweet and caring and always there for her. It was such a relief to have someone outside her family and outside her world to confide in.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Kras is doing some career searching through the library, because honestly he really should start doing that considering it's his last year in school. The only real idea he has is something dealing with biology, because that was his best class and Professor Sprout really thought it was something he should pursue. He wasn't entirely sure though because he wasn't sure it'd be a career that he could work with a whole bunch of people. And he'd prefer something that kept him with a whole lot of people, because he was a people person. So now he's just walking throughout some of the sections randomly.

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Vee was in the library (as usual) hanging out with her best friends, the books. She was attempting to find a book that she would find interesting, but was big enough to conceal in her pocket if need be. Vee was sitting on the floor in a dream world, running her fingers over the spines, when she heard footsteps. She tried to move out of the way, but she wasn't exactly fast. "I'm sorry I was in your way." She called to the tall dark shadow above her.
Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
Kras almost squeaks in surprise when he about trips over someone sitting on the floor. "Oh, it's okay. I apologize for almost tripping over you." He smiled. "May I ask vot it is you're doing?"

Re: The Library: Behind a Bookshelf
"I'm really sorry... I seem to have developed a habit of sitting in bad places where people are likely to trip over me. It isn't your fault." Vee had been sitting at the end of the hallway in her house the other day with her legs out. Her mum had tripped, and had not been quite happy about it. "I'm just looking for a book. I love to read. Some might say I read too much, if that is possible." Vee smiled. "And, if I may ask, what are you doing?" She said, curiosity in her voice.
