Re: The Hallway
Lily is making her prefect rounds, keeping an eye out for delinquents and trouble andmaybeGideonPrewett, when she comes across a girl with a split bag, all her belongings spewed out over the floor. Without a second thought, Lily walks over to help, kneeling down next to the obviously younger girl. "Everything alright here? Oh, you're a Gryffindor, right? I'm sorry, I don't know your name. I'm Lily. You need me to fix that for you?" she offers, gesturing to the broken bag.

Re: The Hallway
Demelza looked up and saw a girl come over and kneel down beside her to help with her broken bag. "Yes, everything is fine. I must have put too much into my bag. Yeah, I'm a Gryffindor. I'm Demelza by the way." She quickly gathered all her belongings together and put them in a pile. "No, I think I should be alright to fix my bag." And saying that she took out her wand and tapped her bag with it.
Re: The Hallway
Lily smiles and backs off. "Fine. Just doing my job - I'm a prefect for Gryffindor, see. Didn't mean to overstep my bounds," she says easily, standing up and brushing her knees off. That stone floor gets kind of dirty, I guess. "That is quite a lot of stuff you've got there," she remarks. "Studying?"

Re: The Hallway
Demelza puts everything back in her newly fixed bag and also stands up. "Yeah, it's my OWL year actually. So the teachers are giving out so much homework in preperation for the exams. Its lots of hard work and long hours in the library, but I'm coping with it all so far."
Re: The Hallway
"I remember what that's like. I'm a sixth year myself, so the memory's still pretty fresh. I think the Professors just do that as a scare tactic, giving out all this homework," Lily muses. "I think there were about four minor breakdowns throughout OWL year in my class. But if you can keep up with the schedule they set now, you'll be fine for the exams. I suppose you just have to be disciplined about it, so I guess you've got that covered," she shrugs, pushing her red hair back over her shoulders.

Re: The Hallway
"I don't think there have been any breakdowns this year so far. Though we're not even halfway through the year yet, so its only going to get harder as the year goes on and it's closer to exams. How were you in your OWLs last year? Did you do well?" Demelza asked Lily curiously. "I hope that I do well in them. Our whole future could be affected with the results from them.
Re: The Hallway
Lily smiles. "Well, three of the four breakdowns were in May, so I suppose time will tell. I was fine," Lily shrugs. "I've always been academically-minded, though, so it wasn't too difficult for me to apply myself. I'm sure you'll be fine, and your Careers Advice interview later in the year will help you sort through your future plans and options so you can figure out where to apply yourself. That was easy for me, too, because I already had a career in mind, so I just needed to confirm the classes I needed and that was that."

Re: The Hallway
"Yeah careers advice will really help me later on in the year as I honestly have no idea what I want to do when I leave Hogwarts. I've read about a few things, but none of them really pop out at me. Hopefully soon I will find something that I want to do. If not, I'll wait until careers advice and see what they say there."
Re: The Hallway
"Well I honestly don't understand how they expect us to have any real idea at fifteen what we want to do for the rest of our lives. Not everyone just knows, after all," Lily says with a slight roll of her eyes. "Well, hopefully Careers Advice will help you figure it out a little further, anyway."

Re: The Hallway
"I know right? We are so young and they are making us decide what we want to do for the rest of our lives. Our life is so long and we have to decide now. Why can't we wait until we have at least finished school. I think that would be better instead of making us choose when we don't even know our grades for certain subjects so we can decide from seeing those grades and what our strong and weak subjects are."
Re: The Hallway
"I suppose their rationale is that we can use our NEWT years to figure all that out. I still say it's too early for some, though. For me, Careers Advice was just about getting the incentive I needed and knowing what marks I had to get to qualify for the NEWTs I'd need. I'm going into Healing, see," she says, as if it's a fact, because Lily is nothing if not stubborn.

Re: The Hallway
"Healing.. that sounds really cool. What sort of subjects do you need good grades in? There must be quite a few because you have to know about all sorts of things and what they do to you and how to fix them." Demelza wondered and asked Lily curiously.
Re: The Hallway
"Well Charms and Potions are the two most important, of course. And Herbology as well, because it's always good to know your plants and how they affect the body. Transfiguration is useful, because a lot of magical damage occurs through spells gone wrong, and Defence for the same reason - knowing your curses and hexes makes it easier to counteract them," Lily lists off, clearly passionate about the subject.

Re: The Hallway
"Ohhhh right." Demelza says understanding what subjects are required. "Healing has always sounded interesting, but not the sort of thing I would do." Demelza told Lily. "I mean, it sounds like an amazing thing to do, but I just don't think I would be suited to the job."
Re: The Hallway
Lily smiles. "I can see how it's not for everyone. I just wanted to choose a career where I could help people, and I didn't think Auror was quite right for me. Not that I can't handle myself - just ask Potter how good I am with a well placed hex - but I don't think I could handle fighting every day for the rest of my life," she explains.

Re: The Hallway
"I see what you mean. Being an auror sounds like it would be awesome, but I don't just want to fight all the time, even if it is to help the good people in the world. I want to do something where I will be able to help others, but not the whole job just being about helping others. Don't get me wrong, I love to help others, but I don't just want to do it as a career." She explained to Lily.
Re: The Hallway
"I understand that," Lily smiles. Over Dem's shoulder, Lily catches a very brief glimpse of a broad-shouldered figure heading down another hallway and her green eyes light up just a little because that might have been Gideon. Well... she should probably be getting on with her rounds anyway... and that hallway seems as good as any. "Well, Demelza, I'd best be getting on with my rounds. Hope your bag holds out. See you," she says with a smile, and heads off down the hallway that Gideon Prewett may or may not have headed down.

"Ok. Bye. It was nice to meet you." Demelza then continued walking down the corridor to the library so she could go do some studying.

Re: The Hallway
Lavender is walking down the hallway, on her way to the Hospital wing to fix her face before Louis saw and flipped a total shit. The bruise looked worse and her lip was all fat and had dried blood in the cracks. She was walking fast, so no-one would see her hideous face.
Re: The Hallway
Louis is walking down the hallway on the way to the library, as usual. he's smiling because he's so happy he and Lav are finally together. He stops short when he sees the aforementioned girl walking quickly towards him. He automatically goes into panic mode when he sees how beat up she is. He rushes up to her "Lavender! Are you alright? What happened to you?" he grabbed the side of her face gingerly

Re: The Hallway
Crap. This was the last person she wanted to run into. She couldn't help but smile at how concerned he was. "Umm. I'm okay. It's nothing really. I was just heading to get it all fixed up." She wouldn't look him in the eyes, afraid to lie to him.
Re: The Hallway
He frowned. "Lavender, look at me. What's going on? How did this happen? Please tell me the truth" his eyes were pleading
