The answer tomorrow is STILL going to be 'no'. The day after that? Still 'no'. And, wait, the day after that? Yeah, still 'no'."

"Then I'll have to pick you up and put you on it by force. I'll do it, someday. Someday. "You know, even that day, when I woke up, and there was a giant pink feather duster sticking out of my bum, I still loved you. That's true friendship, that."

"I know. And I also know if I ever did something as insane as putting you on the glorious motorbike against your free will, that pink feather duster would be back and it would be permanent," he said, chuckling as he kept Remus in his arms, pulling away slightly to look at his friend's face. "You know, even when Prongs isn't always around, or Wormtail, you always are. I'm so glad I've got you. And you've got me. Always," he said, glancing up at the sky overhead. "We should go in, you know. To the dorm. It's late," he said, not making any move to actually leave.

"It would. Be permanent, I mean." he licked his lips and looked up at the sky, leaning back slightly. "Huh, it is rather late. I didn't notice." It was hard to pay attention to the time when he was having fun. He didn't make any move to leave though either.

"Let's go," he said, finally letting go, albeit a bit slowly, and slinging an arm easily around Remus' shoulders, and walking back up to the dorm where Amethyst should post while I nom on last night's chinese take out, which is DELICIOUS.

"Is there something you wanted?" she blurts out, because she's still not quite over this feeling of ever so slight unease around Potter's best friend, and although he keeps telling her he wants Potter to give it up as much as she does, she can't help but vaguely entertain the notion that he's up to something. He is a Marauder, after all, and she would be a fool not to consider it.

Hey! Sirius actually DOES have perfectly innocent intentions towards Lily! If James hadn't called dibs like, five years ago, it'd be totally different, but Sirius is a REAL bro, unlike Rad, and will NOT be breaking the Bro Code. "Wanted?" he asked, looking rather dumb and confused, as he tilts his head to the side. "No, not really? Unless you count bothering you as a want. Because mostly I just saw you and thought you'd be fun to annoy, really, if you want the honest answer, and as we all know I'm a perfectly honest guy."

Lily's more worried about Sirius' 'wingman' capacity than anything else right now. She smirks a little at the puppyish way in which Sirius tilts his head and stares at her. If his tongue was lolling out of his mouth, she'd scratch him behind the ears. "Perfectly honest, Black. Thanks. So, was your great plan to attempt to annoy me with conversation, or should I just skip to the part where I shove you into the lake and storm off?" she wonders.

Lily arches an eyebrow as Sirius blunders right over a raw nerve right there. "Yes, thank Merlin I went through the completely enjoyable experience of having my best friend call me a Mudblood and destroy my longest-standing friendship. Really, where would my life be without that moment?" she whips out. "Well, Slytherins and I tend to disagree on principle of course, but if one put you in your place, I might be forced to have a little respect for that."

Sirius rolls his eyes at that, totally oblivious to her emotions. "Whatever, he was a total dick! The fact that he'd use that word at all means he's so beneath deserving any kind of friendship, especially from someone like you, alright? Even if you dislike Prongs and I immensely, we still like you, and think you're better off without some pureblood supremacist freak of nature verbally abusing you, so, whatever," he said stubbornly, because he's rather grumpy now, oh boy. "I wouldn't call it putting me in my place so much as her being a totally immature brat, either."

Lily sighs and reminds herself that boys are different creatures, and do not understand the subtle nuances of human emotions. "Well, thanks," she says, because she's not completely oblivious to the fact that in his own way, he is being nice to her. And really, it's a little difficult for her to refute that 'total dick' comment. "I don't dislike you immensely," she says. "Potter, yes, but he's brought that on himself. You're alright. In small doses," she says, smirking just a little as her green eyes sparkle playfully.

When he's finally done, he grins at Lily. "Sorry, I'll have to bother him about that later, of course. And I'm more than alright, I'm totally awesome! And there is no such thing as a small dose of Sirius-- I come in big packages," he said, winking at her. Oh god.

Lily does not wait as Sirius does his little dance, she simply walks on because he's like a puppy - he may get distracted, but he'll heel soon enough because he wants attention. "Only by default," she says, because she just can't dislike anybody more than Potter. Her eyebrows hit her hairline and her green eyes harden just a touch at his joke. "Oh, shut up, nobody here cares about your package that you spend too much time talking up," she says, too exasperated to come up with her usual witty retort for a change. She rolls her eyes to herself, thinking that the last guy she'd wandered along the dock with was less crass. And at least he knew he was a child at heart.

Sirius, true to his puppy-esque nature, does indeed bound right after Lily, scampering at her heels and grinning widely. "But that's not true! I am not nobody, and I do indeed care about my package. I take quite good care of it, actually, unlike some dudes, who don't, which is just gross. Best make sure Miss Not-Prude Lily isn't putting out for one of those gross dudes, really now, at least one can be assured that I'm well maintained, see. Hygiene is everything! But I suppose nobody told Snape," he snorted, shuddering at that unfortunate thought. "I bet that he-- oh, that is not appropriate conversation, is it? Oops."

Lily wrinkles her nose at Sirius' oversharing and rolls her eyes at him. "My private life is really none of your concern, thanks." She falters in her step, though, turning to look at Sirius when he realises that he's being inappropriate. "Very good, Black," she praises. "Now next time maybe we can work on you figuring out that your conversation is completely inappropriate before anything comes out of your mouth."

Lily scoffs out an amazed laugh. "Difficult as this may be for you to believe, Black, I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself without you slobbering over my shoulder every five minutes. Merlin, what do you think you're going to do when I go on dates - follow along and spy?" she says, then her eyes widen because she realises how silly it was of her to put that idea into his head. "I swear to Merlin, if you do that I will hex you every day for the rest of our time here at Hogwarts. I'll even visit you over the summer for the express purpose of hexing you when you're at home, and walking away again," she warnes.
