"Yeah, that's me. What's up?" he asks as he glances around. "Do you normally walk around near the forest on your own? At night?" he teased.

She laughed a little and shrugged "Maybe. Maybe feeling a little dangerous" she grinned at him "I'm just trying to blow off some steam. Ran into my brother..." she sighed "How're you? what are you up to, preying on girls by the forest at night?" she teased back

"Yep, you caught me," he said with a light laugh, though he frowned somewhat at the brother comment. "Your brother? I have a feeling that didn't go too well..."

She sighed "How could you guess?" She threw her hands up "he just...expects me to be as tough and angry as he is I think. He's gotten worse though...I just...I don't know what to do" she shuddered a little, remembering him throwing her to the ground

Al frowned. "I'm sorry, Penny. I'd offer to teach him a lesson for you, but uh...I have a feeling that wouldn't end well for me," he said with a slight laugh because he's pretty sure this Evan guy is pretty big and scary looking.

"Wait. He didn't hurt you, did he?" he asked, sounding very concerned for this girl...that he didn't know that well yet. What can I say? He's got a thing for making sure girls are always treated right.

She grimaced. She didn't really want to get into the whole thing but she didn't want to lie either. "Well...not...really? I mean, I was smarting off to him anyway, so I can understand it but he kind of threw me to the ground." She bit her lip and looked away from Albus. damn this girl's messed up

"He what!? Penny, that is not okay. He can't just push you around like that. Are you hurt or anything?" he asks quickly, in shock that someone could hurt a girl like that, and their own sister at that.

She shrugged "I'm fine, a little sore, but I'm fine. You don't need to worry about me." she wrapped her arms around herself. "I just need to learn to take care of myself, I don't need him, except for the money, which I can't get into until I turn seventeen unfortunately."

"What!? A little sore?" Albus doesn't really know what to say. He's sort of just in shock. "Penny, you can't let him hurt you like this. That's just...That's not right. You deserve better than that."

She let out a laugh "you're probably right, but until I turn seventeen, he pulls the strings, he's my legal guardian." She grimaced "i'm sorry for dumping this on you again, you don't need to deal with my problems. I need to learn to get along on my own."

"He's your legal guardian. That doesn't mean he can hurt you," he said with a frown. "And it's fine. Everyone needs someone they cal talk to. Especially about stuff like this."

She laughed a little "He wants me to harden up and be like him, but fuck that. I don't want to be like that. ever. He doesn't think I can take care of myself, but I can. Albus smiled. "I've always been a good listener. You can always talk to me about...anything, really. I think your brother needs to remember that you're not him. If he wants to live that kind of life, well that's fine. But he shouldn't try to force it on you as well."
