Al laughed. "Alright then. Sounds like a plan. Care to be my date to their wedding?" he asked teasingly with a wink.

She laughed, and it felt like a really REAL laugh. One she hadn't had in a long time, and it felt great. She grinned at him and nodded "Why good sir, it would be an honor to be your date!" she held out her hand daintily.

Albus grinned and locked arms with Penny, took a step forward, then stopped to look at her and burst out laughing because he really wouldn't know where to take her because, well, there's no wedding.

Penny laughed right along with Albus, taking in the hilarity of the situation, and feeling happier than she had in ages. "Well, that was quite a lovely evening good sir. I thank you" she looked at him, failing to keep a straight face and trying to keep the good humor of the situation going

"And thank you," he said with a grin, his laughing finally calming down a bit. "I had quite the lovely time myself even if I wasn't invited to my best friend's wedding. I would have made a better best man than that prat he chose. Would have looked better in the suit too," he said jokingly.

Penny nodded and with a serious face "Oh I quite agree, and that cow Faye had as a maid of honor, I would have put her to shame" She grinned

"Yes. Yes, you would have," he chuckled. "And the wedding cake was just disgusting. Honestly now, who chooses that type of frosting for a wedding cake?"

She shook her head, appalled "No idea! Faye knows better than that! simply disgusting. And the music? it was so dreadful it hurt my ears!" she grinned

"Yes, yes. Just a disaster in every form. Good thing I had an awesome date to save me from hanging myself during the wedding vows," he said with a laugh.

"oh but no doubt we saved each other! Completely dreadful wedding it was. I cannot thank you enough for helping me through this disaterous time" she laughed

Al laughed and realized that Penny actually looked really happy for once. Not the usual small smile he got out of her when he tried to cheer her up, but a real genuine smile. "I like seeing you happy like this. You have a nice smile," he said with a smile of his own.

Penny smiled shyly and blushed a little "thanks...thank you for bringing it out." she laughed a little "I haven't really had this much fun in a long time. You're a really cool guy Al, and you've got a pretty great smile yourself"

"Anytime," he said, grinning somewhat shyly at her compliment. "Thanks. And I'm glad you think so. I like making you laugh and smile. You're a cool girl, Penny. You deserve to be happy."

She smiled "thank you." she bit her lip. "you kind of make it easy to be happy" she hesitated before leaning in and giving him a small kiss on the cheek. She pulled back and blushed

Al blushed slightly at the kiss. "Well...Er- I'm glad, Penny," he said, not sure what to say anymore or what to think, really. "I like seeing you happy. Think we should head back to the castle soon?" he asked, realizing how dark it was getting.

Penny looked confused for a moment "Wha? Oh!" she too realized how late it was getting and how dark it was. She was grateful for the dark, perhaps Al hadn't seen her blush. "I suppose we should, shouldn't we?" She didn't really like the dark, but she was having too good a time with Al to want to leave

Al smiled and looked up at the sky. He didn't really want to leave either. He liked being the guy that Penny could talk about stuff with. "Well, you're in Slytherin. Want to walk back to the common room with me?"

"Alright! Shall we go then, my fair lady?" he asked in a mockingly proper voice as he held his arm out to her and grinned.

Penny laughed and took his arm, and in an equally mocking tone replied "Why thank you kind sir, we shall!"

Al chuckled. "Well then, we must be off, dear Penny." And with that, they walked back to the common room together, laughing and joking the whole way up.

Luna and Hermione walk out here along the forest, holding hands now that they're far off from everyone else. Luna is at least smiling now, trying to forget about Dean for a moment so she can enjoy her walk with Hermione. "It's nice having someone you can talk to about things," she admits quietly as they continue to walk. "I've never really had a lot of people I can do that with."

"You have me," Hermione points out gently, enjoying the warm feeling of Luna's hand in her own. "And you can share anything with me," she promises, content just to wander slowly along, sharing her time and her space with the smaller girl. She smiles faintly, loving the way the gentle breeze lightly swirls the ends of Luna's hair in the breeze.
