Re: The Edge of the Forest
Theo grinned viciously at the spider and said the spell he knew they were both aching to try. "Crucio!" He yelled, pouring all of his malice and rage and longing to injure into the one word, fueling the spell. "Oh Pansy! It feels amazing!" He broke the spell, leaving the poor spider crumpled in pain, but still alive. "Would you like a go?"

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy watched in a combination of fascination and horror as Theo performed the Unforgivable on the spider. Half of her wanted to try it, to release all her pent up frustrations and aggressions on the arachnid's body, but the other half of her was screaming that she wasn't like that, that she couldn't do something so cruel to something so innocent. But Pansy had no idea what she may or may not be capable of, no idea what kind of person she might be now. So much had changed, there really was only one way to find out. She waited until Theo was finished, asking if she would like a try. She smirked at him nodded, bending her wrist and aiming at the huge spider's torso. She muttered the spell under her breath, channeling everything she'd felt because of Sirius, because of the fights with Draco, because of the frustration of her mother and the expectations as a pureblood heiress, everything that stressed her out was being sent down her fingers, through her wand, into the spell as it ransacked the spider's frame, sending it shaking and shuddering in a crumpled heap to the ground.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Theo's eyes were practically glowing. "Brilliant Pansy, absolutely brilliant...Serpentsortia! Opugno!" he cackled as he caught her off guard, sending out the giant cobra that materialised on the end of his wand to attack her. Joel is wondering how he's doing at the dueling thing, because he's kind of worried he sucks.

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy had been so absorbed in figuring out the sensations of the crucio, the brilliantly warm feeling that radiated up her arm, that made her insides tingle as if nothing in the world could go wrong, that she didn't notice at first when Theo resumed their duel. She quickly lifted the spell and left the spider to tend to it's pain, but she was distracted by it's still writhing form. Her head was a mess from that spell, but she knew she'd just have to sort it out later, there wasn't time to think about it now. She had a duel to pay attention to. She blinked in surprise as a cobra shot out from the end of his wand and slithered toward her, his hood expanded and mouth gaping, ready to strike. "Sectumsempra!" Pansy slashed her wand, the head of the serpent falling away just as it had reached her feet. "Deprimo!" She began moving her wand in a large circle, spiraling up a tower of leaves to spin faster and faster, encasing Theo, who is doing quite well at dueling by the way, in a tornado of forest floor debris.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Theo laughed in pure glee, because he's not only doing well but enjoying himself immensely. Slashing his wand at the tornado, he broke out with a shouted "Dissocio", making a the vortex lower and then fall almost completely. Jumping out, he pointed his wand at her imperiously, the length of black and silver looking dangerous and just plain awesome. "No holds barred, besides Unforgivables, right?" He grinned maliciously. "Bombarda!" The spell rocketed from his wand and shot towards her, in hopes that it would blast her backwards. Leaves and debris was caught up behind the mini shockwave, sending them flying everywhere.

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy lifted an eyebrow at his question, keeping her black wand pointed at him and ready to react. The blow of the spell, along with the debris it caught up along the way knocked her over, putting her on her rear end on the forest floor for a second time. She shot a spell from the ground before standing to follow it up with another. "Obscuro! Flagrate!" She drew the line of fire in a circle around him, using a light wind spell to grow it up taller, sending it in a twisting and contorting shape around him before she gave it a little life of it's own. Something like oppugno, but not set to attack him, merely to keep him where he was, for the fire to have a bit of self-preservation instinct.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Theo panicked a bit, at the fire let me tell you. Waving his wand wildly, he tried to set it out with a simple Aguamenti, but noticed that it seemed to think for itself and just keep growing. "Ah, Pans this is beautiful!" he cried out to her, happy with his dueling partner. He decided to experiment himself, trying to put the fire out. Finally, he just decided to levitate all the dirt he could and dump it all on top, effectively putting most of it out. Pointing to some roots, he added a bit of his own idea to Incarcerous, bringing the roots to life. They reached greedily out towards Pansy, grabbing at her clothes and feet.

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy laughed as he thoroughly appreciated her charmwork on the fire, glad that it didn't go to waste on him. She watched the dirt around her bubble up as the roots wove through and popped out, reaching for her. One wrapped around her ankle and the other tore at her jeans. After relashio failed to keep them at bay, she tried some severing charms on a few of them, but the roots were ancient, thick and strong, and it only sliced the surface of them as often as it cut all the way through. Finally she took to blasting them away from her, exploding them with various charms, sending clods of dirt up all around as the trees retreated again. "Levicorpus!" She pointed her wand at Theo, intending to lift him by his ankle out of the dying circle of flames, which now were really nothing more than burning embers. Maybe she'd catch the bottoms of his shoes on fire. Narrowing her eyes, she sent a small fire charm to the soles of his feet.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Theo was hanging upside down, with shoes starting to smoke. With a quick and muttered liberacorpus, he freed himself from the levitating spell, but not the burning shoes. He proceeded to do a hop and jump dance all over, until he stepped in a mud puddle from his earlier exploits with the water charm. Spinning, and pointing his wand at Pansy, he blasted off two quick fire Bombardas.

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Leaping out of the way of one of his spells put Pansy right in the path of the second one, and it knocked her back into the massive trunk of one of the ancient trees. It knocked the breath out of her for a moment, but she flicked her wand at him again a second later. "Conjunctivitis!"
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Theo instinctively grabbed hie eyes, dropping his wand and ending the duel. "Argh! Shit! Grr! No fair!" he dropped down, reaching for his wand but not finding it. "Pansy, i concede!" He was laughing, but still feeling around for the wand. "...do you think you could help me out?"

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy hurried over to him as he gave up and began searching for his wand. She laughed and picked it up, putting it in his hand. Grabbing his arm to still him, she lifted her wand to his face. "Here, now let me fix your eyes." She smiled and performed a small healing charm to clear up the burning sensations, waiting for them to stop watering to know if it had worked. "Well I'd have to say that was a pretty good mock duel."
Re: The Edge of the Forest
"It was! Just think how epic it would have been, if we didn't have to curb the destructiveness. I wonder if we could pay an ickle first year to be our dueling dummy?" He laughed as his eyesight cleared and the horrid burning sensation faded into oblivion. "I'm sure some little mudblood Hufflepuff would be willing to earn some money...or maybe one of those blood-traitor Weasleys."

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy laughed and nodded, though she's having some serious doubts about being able to corral up a little first year or Weasley and do whatever she wished to them. Bella is shouting that it's not a big deal and sounds like a good way to spend an evening to her, but Pansy just keeps mumbling about Draco and the Death Eaters and not being like them. Regardless, she nodded to Theo. "Maybe, so long as we wouldn't get caught." She winked and stood up, offering a hand to Theo now that he could see clearly again. "That was quite fun though, much more than just the wooden dummies. Those don't fight back even half as well as you do."
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Theo just yelled YAY FOR AUNTIE BELLA in my head, trufacts/. No idea why he calls her that. Anyway. "Well, I'm shocked! I was hoping for something along the lines of 'Oh,Theo! You're a duelist king! A prodigy that old Sally himself would love!'" Laughing, he stood, wiping off dirt and muck. "Oh well. You kind of really do look like sme sort of nature sprite now, covered in dirt and leaves."

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Bella says she wants to adopt this Theo kid. Who knows, she's never had maternal instincts before. And now she's just broken something for me calling her maternal and says it's strictly because Theo shows excellent badass tendencies. Pansy laughed at him a little, picking a leaf from her hair. "Well you are good, you know! If I hadn't managed that last spell, you probably would have knocked me out in the next few moments. The bit with the trees and roots was cool, you'll have to teach me that one." She pulled a few more leaves out of her hair, dusting the dirt off her shirt. "A nature sprite. You know, I'd be happy as a nature sprite I think. Just living in the forest."
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Theo in my head just died of happy. "It so would. No drama, no overbearing parents, depending on the place, no Muggles." He sighed. "It would be lovely. Speaking of over-bearing parents, how are yours? I wish I could complain about mine, but i never see him the bastard."

Re: The Edge of the Forest
"Sort of wish I never saw mum, but alas, she doesn't let me go long without coming home and being dragged off to some other pureblood function to meet some other pureblood heir with a stick up his arse." She laughed a little, remembering the last one who was from France and who she'd managed to frustrate so badly that he threw down his wine glass and stomped off in a huff. Such fun times. "I'd like to say that she's slowly learning that I don't intend to be who she expects of me, but that's not the case. She still forces me into pink frills and takes me to the parties. One of these days though..." Pansy shook her head, hardly able to wait for the day when she could tell her mom to suck it and she ran off to make solo adventures from city to city living as her heart desired.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Theo gasped in horror. "Pink frills? The Queen of Slytherin, in pink? Oh dear Salazar that's horrid." He pondered for a moment. "I wonder if you could find some middle ground with her, on dresses. You're too modern, and pretty, to be hidden in pink thrills. More like emerald satin and black velvet."

Re: The Edge of the Forest
"It really is terrible. Mostly I just tell her I'm not going if I have to wear that and we do make a little bit of compromise. Luckily she thinks black is elegant and I get to wear it often enough." She'd looked down a little shyly when he called her pretty. As many times as she might hear it, from whoever might say it, she never got used to it, never thought of herself that way.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Theo chuckled. "Well it's good that she thinks it's elegant. Little black dress and all that." He sighed again and fretfully pulled at leaves, tearing them apart with his delicate fingers. "It makes me kind of wonder how my parents would be, looking at yours and Draco's. At what my father is now, damn him. Oh well, at least he lets me look at artwork when i want."

Re: The Edge of the Forest
"Oh the stresses of being a pureblood. And here everyone thinks we're the lucky ones, the ones with everything handed to them on little silver platters. Little do they know we've probably got it worse than any of them, what with all the expectations and pressures and pride and family name to maintain and make proud. Some days it's just too much. Though I don't know if it's worse being a son or a daughter. They've both got their difficulties above the other." She stopped talking, realizing she was rambling on and on about pureblood life, something he already pretty much knew about. "At least your father does let you do what you like. Something you're bloody good at, too."
Re: The Edge of the Forest
"Why thank you. I wish your mother would let you bloom. For some reason i can see you, smoking a cig off one of those long fancy pipes, breaking hearts left and right, with me at your side as your dashing best friend...also breaking hearts for the fun of it. Maybe i'm part Seer?" He greamed. "Think of the sheer fun of it all! I can't wait to be an adult, in our parents' circles and causing some mischief."

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy laughed, wrinkling her nose in amusement. "If you are a seer, we certainly have a fun future ahead of us, don't we? Inseparable heartbreakers, you and I. Yes, we'll frequent all the best bars and clubs and pick our victims." She laughed, since she already did that in a way. "I'm already practicing you know, what with all the foreign suitors my mother makes me meet. Oh it's great fun seeing their disappointment when I'm not just a quiet little pureblood daughter ready to drop my heart into their rich little hands."

Re: The Edge of the Forest
[omg yes lol XD that's exactly what i was thinking!]
Theo snorted. "Did you hex them? I would have...heck i have." he winked. "And i bet they're all those abnormally disgusting looking chaps, with all the frills and feathers and outdated dress robes?" he sat back and looked up at the light filtering through the tree branches. "Her name was Mme. Lestaria de Poppinham. I couldn't stop myself from making ham jokes. 'Oh, Lesie dear i do think i hear a ham popping in the kitchen!' Alas, i was cruel to the poor, bloated, literal ham of a girl."
