Re: The Edge of the Forest
Scorpius let out a small relieved sigh as Al kissed him, realizing that once again they were able to work through it all. It seemed as though the smalles things triggered these fights, yet they always seemed catastrophic. Shaking his head, he disagreed instantly with what Al said. "That's not true," he argued. "Honestly, you're perfect to me, as cheesy as that is," he said with a faint smile. "I'm sorry too though. My communication skills are complete rubbish. I let all these thoughts and emotions build up until I just explode in anger. Not the best way of handling these sort of things."

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Al remained quiet. He hated how he had this problem where he never knew the right thing to say. He always needed music to help him out. "Sit down," he insisted softly as he tugged on Scorpius' hand and sat down by the tree with him. He let go of his hand, and licked his lips nervously as pulled his guitar from where it had been resting in the grass...because he carries it around with him a lot, just in case the inspiration suddenly strikes him. "I...Erm...Just listen, okay?" He glanced up at Scorpius, then hesitantly began strumming at the chords, growing more confident as he started to sing.
"It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on
So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen"

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Scorpius looked at Al with a slightly confused expression, wondering why he was being asked to sit. He immediately complied though, giving Al his complete and full attention. Watching as Al picked up the guitar, he relaxed his back against the tree and nodded when his boyfriend asked for him to listen. Paying particular attention to the words and the way his boyfriend’s voice soothingly sang, he found himself completely loving everything that the song meant. When the song ended, he wasn’t sure how to verbally respond. ‘That was great Al!’ or ‘You’re so fucking amazing!’ or a golf-clap just seemed like such lame responses. Pushing himself off the tree, he reached over the guitar and gently pulled Al’s head to his. Kissing him deeply, he hoped to communicate just how much it had meant to him. After a moment, he pulled back from the slow yet slightly bruising kiss. “I love you,” he murmured, resting his forehead on Al’s and not even paying mind to the fact that the instrument was currently between them.

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Al leaned into the kiss and rested a hand on Scorpius' shoulder to stable himself. The fight had ruined his blissful drunken state, but although he was trying to hide it he was still far from sober. "I love you too," he mumbled in reply, closing his eyes as he kept his forehead rested against Scorpius'. All of their fights always seemed to end like this, and it made him wonder why they had even started arguing in the first place. "Even if I have a funny way of showing it," he added with a small smile as he opened his eyes to look into Scorpius' own steel grey ones.

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Now in clothes more appropriate for running, Pansy, Draco, and Max made their way out of the castle and down to the edge of the lake and forest. Pansy stretched a little, taking deep breaths of the cooler evening air as she waited for Draco to show her which way they were going, since they'd be taking his route this time. "Ready to go? Where to?"
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Draco stretched with her then exchanged a quick glance with Max and ran off, grinning and yelling over his shoulder, "This way!" He headed just inside the trees where there was a thin track marked out and smoothed. Running along he laughed as Max ran along side him, darting in front before running back to join Pansy, clearly thrilled to be running with his two favourite people.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy laughed and took off after him, quickly catching up without a problem. She tapped him on the right shoulder, and then darted around his left side, hurrying past him with Max hot on her heels. "Gotta keep up better than that!" She shouted over her shoulder before turning around to duck a low branch.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Draco laughed and sped up a bit to dart past her and around the corner of the path, "Me? Keep up with you? Piece of cake." he ducked under another branch then jumped over a log in the way, not like a gazelle or a deer but like a man. Running along he could hear her right behind him, the path a rather loud run but he liked that about it. Any noise other than his own breathing was more than welcome.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Leaves and twigs crunched under their feet. They'd have scared off or alerted anything within quite a distance to their approach, but that was alright. They weren't out here for the sight-seeing anyway. Pansy laughed when he passed her, jogging along behind him and leaping over the log after him, but she of course did it like a gazelle because she is quite graceful and quick. Passing him again, she pranced and jumped a little as she darted in front of him, smiling to herself when Max barked playfully, running along at their sides. "Luckily I'm like a deer, gone in a flash!" She laughed and sped up, hurrying around a bend in the path as quickly as she could without falling.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Draco picked up the pace again to get around the corner and run next to her, "A deer? Really? But they're so quiet," he grinned as Max popped out of a bush ahead of them "and you're not." At the perfect moment Max barked and jumped up at them, "See even your dog agrees." He nudged her and passed her on the little path, winding off up a small hill along an even smaller path starting the loop back towards the castle.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy narrowed her eyes at him, letting him pass as she took a quick look around. In a split second she seemed to decide, letting him get up ahead of her as she veered off the path, trying to make a shortcut through the thicker parts of the forest to end up on the path ahead of him without him knowing. This time, instead of just full out sprinting, crushing whatever landed under her feet, she kept a careful eye out. She still ran, but was careful where and how she did so to be as quiet as she could manage as she approached the path again.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Draco glanced behind him and noticed a lack of Pansy but then heard some cracking in the forest along side him. He sped up, rounded the next corner then slipped behind a tree, waiting until she ran down the path then popping out as she rounded the next bend, "Grr! The wolf is here to get you."
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy stepped out on the path, but didn't see Draco in either direction. Shrugging, she turned toward the castle and followed the path, deciding maybe she'd wait for him where the path left the forest. Wouldn't that be great, to just be standing there when he showed up? But she turned and corner and suddenly he was jumping out from behind a tree. She shrieked a little and grabbed him by the arms, breaking out in laughter once the second of adrenaline induced panic was over. "Draco!!"
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Draco laughed and grinned at her, "Gotcha! And that was a decidedly un-deerlike scream you let out right there. Maybe you're not my prey after all." He took her hands and pulled her backwards for a second before turning around and sprinting off again, laughing as he heard Max crashing through the undergrowth with them. It seemed he loved the new path and was going to terrorize as many rabbits and squirrels as he could.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
She rolled her eyes at him, shoving his chest playfully. "Maybe not." Following him down the path again, her hand stayed in his for a second before they slipped apart, running down the little trail together. Max was definitely enjoying himself, his massive paws digging through the leaves and underbrush as he chased down little woodland creatures, stopping only when they dove into their burrows or dashed up a tree. Reaching the edge of the forest again, Pansy stopped behind Draco for a second, petting Max and catching her breath.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Draco left the forest first and stopped, waiting for both Pansy and Max. He bent over and stretched out when the stopped next to him. "That was a good run, right Max?" he barked in affermation and Draco grinned, "So do you think he'll let me join you again? That was the deal right?" moved so he could lean against a tree to stretch put his calves, making sure got all the important muscle groups after both the run and practice he didn't want to be sore in the morning. Though it seemed like an inevitablity after all that.

[YES SO YOU CAN COME HOME]
"It was indeed the deal. I think he liked chasing the rabbits so much, you can join us whenever you like." Pansy smiled at him, finishing her own stretches. It was starting to get a little dark now, the same timing as usual with the sun disappearing behind the mountains just as she was heading back inside. "But now I think it's definitely shower time. And Max could use a bath too," she added, looking at her quite filthy dog. "No way is he climbing into my bed with all that dirt."

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Draco looked down at Max and laughed, reaching over and pulling a twig out of his tail. "Yeah I think we all need showers now. I've got so much dirt on me now after quidditch and the run that it's hard to believe that I can still be recognized as a human." He was indeed rather streaked with dirt and sweat but he'd had fun and that was what really mattered. That and he'd gotten to spend some more time with Pansy. Walking back up to the castle they separated to go shower off.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Pansy laughed, reaching up and wiping a bit of dirt off his cheek. "Yeah, you're pretty filthy." Max followed her up to the castle, Draco at her other side. "Showers sound perfect. Meet you back in the common room after?" With a smile they separated, each headed to shower on their own like good children.
Re: The Edge of the Forest
Marlene has spent an hour in the Forbidden Forest, just looking around because why they hell not? She figures there's more dangerous things in the world than a bunch of overgrown spiders and hissy centaurs, and that's even if the rumours about Acromantula are even true. Now she wanders along the edge of the trees, having a cigarette and contemplating whether she should go inside and study, or go find something more interesting to do.

Melanie walk taking a walk outside with a book in her hand as she walked and before she knew it she was near the edge of the forbidden forest. She looked up from her book and shrugged and continued to walk before she saw someone just out of the corner of her eyes walking in front of her a few paces. She looked up and recognized it as Marlene. "Oh! Hi Marlene." She said, taking a few bigger steps until she was next to her.

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Marlene watches Melanie approach, slowing her pace just a tad until her fellow Ravenclaw catches up and they fall into step together. "Hey, Mel. What's new?" she asks, switching her cigarette to the other hand to avoid accidentally burning the other girl.

Re: The Edge of the Forest
"Um, not anything really exciting." She said with a slight shrug. "I've got a date on Friday that I don't know if I should go on, I've been reading." She said with a sigh. "Pretty much just the same old same old." She told her. "What about you?"

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Marlene shrugs. For a second or two she's more interested in the book in Melanie's hand, but then that so-slight-she-almost-forgets-it protective twinge hits her and she raises her eyebrows, wondering what's up with Melanie to get her second-guessing herself. "Why'd you say yes if you weren't sure? I bet you were sure at the time, so what's changed?"

Re: The Edge of the Forest
Melanie thought for a moment. "Well, I was sure I wanted to go when I said yes because the girl is really attractive and she seems so nice and I want to get to know her, but," She said and let out a sigh. "Someone walked up to me in the library yesterday and like told me that she never shows up to her dates and that she was probably just not interested at all."
