Aurelia glanced behind her as she ducked into a shadow of the castle. She could hear the sounds of the party, but wasn't that interested. Rad and Molly were busy, Kras had left...and she wasn't a party person anyway. No, this was her area. Everyone's inside! What luck, I don't even know anyone in my dorm...they won't miss me. Never have. Not even important classes tomorrow...It's the best chance i'll get. She smiled then sighed, carefully exhaling in measured breaths, concentrating, focused, feeling the magic, letting her outfit shift with her body. Her eyes turned yellow, the night grew brighter. The stones of the courtyard were cold and hard against the pads of her four paws. Her brown hair faded to shades of gray, white, red, and brown as it covered her body from nose to tail, ruffled in the cool night wind. Resisting the urge to howl, she glanced around, and did the closest thing a wolf could manage to a grin. It's been too long. She trotted on to the grass, and sat, content for the moment.

Remus had left the party - after all that craziness with Sirius on the table..ack - and was glad for the cool air outside. He was walking across the courtyard when he spots a wolf. "What in the..." He wondered if he could approach her or not - he knew it was a her because, being a werewolf and thanks to his awesome heightened senses, he could tell the difference in smell between a female and a male. He shuffled over slowly and crouched down, still a good bit away from the wolf. "Hey there, girl. What are you doing out here?"

In a flash, she was on her feet and turned around, glaring at Remus, sniffing warily. She's never met him, he couldn't know. Who was he to approach a wolf? She backed away a few steps, head lowered and staring unblinkingly at him. Curious, but wary. Focus, don't bolt. He can't know. Animals are curious, right? Just super super wary. Right. Momentarily, the wolf's head rose to better catch the smell on the wind, then lowered again.

Remus stayed where he was, not moving. He could sense the wolf's wariness, and see that it was slightly curious. He smiled softly at the wolf and moved till he was sitting on the ground, putting himself in a more vulnerable position cause it'd be harder for him to get up and run this way if she chose to attack. "It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you, girl. We have more in common then you'd think...well, unless you can tell. Most wolves can smell the wolf in me, but maybe you haven't noticed it yet. It's okay...just know I'm a friend." he talked softly, calmly, as to not startle the wolf.

What? Not fully used to the wolf's senses, she paid attention, and was nearly overwhelming for her. He wasn't an Animagus, of that she was sure. No reason for him not to have shifted if he was, it was deeper than that. Stronger. Werewolf!? That's...different. She took a few surprised steps backwards, then paused, cautiously stepping forward. Tilting her head, curious as any dog, she sat down, looking at Remus. Her head was still lowered, instinctively blocking her neck and keeping her attentive, ready to run if needed. He can't do anything to me...except get suspicious. Maybe.

[Hm. Right. Well, she's not been an Animagus long, so she might not have...but that's ok. She doesn't care anyway XD Sorry for the lack of stuff to respond to, working on it! Razz

Remus continued to smile at the wolf, sitting there quietly. He may hate the wolf in him over half the time, but that didn't mean he hated all wolves. On the contrary, he actually loved them. "Did you come from the forest, pretty girl?" he spoke softly and sweetly to the wolf, hoping that she'd eventually grow comfortable enough to come closer. "It's not exactly safe to come out of there, especially with students about...well, not that there are any besides myself around right now, but still. You have to be careful."

The wolf made a strange huffy sound, letting out all her breath in a somewhat exasperated tone as if to say 'of course I know the school is dangerous'. Her eyes drifted up to the tall towers above them only for a moment. She couldn't help but be curious about this boy, who was a werewolf himself and dared talk to a wolf. Tempted to see what he'd do if she snarled, she was too kind to try to frighten him. Instead she stood up, taking another step forward cautiously. Her ears twitched forward, catching the blaring music, then flicked back to block out as much as she could. The music had hurt her ears as a human, it was even louder as a wolf. Aurelia was glad for the blessing of the closed door that blocked out enough of the noise, so that she wasn't forced to dash across the grounds just to flee the sound.

Remus spots her ears moving and looks back towards the castle then back at the wolf. "The loud sounds bother your ears, don't they? They bother mine too. It gave me a headache just going into that party for a bit." he frowned, wondering why he'd even bothered going to it even for just a bit. He should have just came right out here in the first place. "I don't know why I got so upset about seeing him holding her like that." he was thinking out loud, completely unaware of it, and had almost forgotten of the wolf's presence for a moment. "It's not like that's a problem or anything. He can hold whoever he likes."

She let out a little whine, confused, head tilting again. Ears still flicked back, she took another few careful steps forward, close enough to touch if Remus reached out. Aurelia didn't know his problem, and felt a little guilty being confided in accidentally, but if it helped him, she didn't mind. She didn't have anything better to do, really, and he seemed nice. She could run across the grounds later. Hoping she didn't seem to confident for an animal, she sat down, letting her ears relax a bit, head still low and staring. Wonder if i'll have to avoid him and whoever he's talking about after this. Not like it'd be hard as I don't know him...but it'd be awkward to meet him anyhow. I wonder if he'd be able to tell? Probably not, it's not like a smell like a dog or anything.

Remus reached out tentatively, keeping his hand low and not exactly touching her yet so she wouldn't feel threatened. He'd wait till she sniffed his hand and showed him it was okay to touch her before he actually did so. "You're sweet." he smiled softly, "I feel bad, confiding in you when we've just met." he chuckled lightly, "Here, I'll introduce myself, I'm Remus. I guess people would find it weird that I'm talking to an animal, but, I don't know, maybe it's cause I am what I am that causes me to think that animals do understand what us humans are saying sometimes. You can tell by the sounds of our voices whether we seem threatening or not."

[I have to go to sleep, it's past midnight. XD I'll try getting on tomorrow night after the party. Night!!]

Her head lowered a bit at his touch, but she let his hand rest on her head. She flicked her ears, slightly amused, and feeling like she'd found a friend...though in a very strange way. She made the same sound as before, hoping it sounded more amused then exasperated. Hm. Remus? Odd name. Not in my House though, I'm sure. Ah well, no worry of mine. She resolutely stared at the tip of his nose, aware that he probably knew wolf body language and that eye contact was a challenge. This was easier, attentive, but not challenging.

[Hm. So it is. Alrighty, have fun. Well, sleep, then have fun XD Night!]

Remus smiled, resting his hand on the wolf's head, scratching behind her ears softly because he knew it'd feel good. Of course no one could do that to him when he was a wolf on the full moon, but his mom had a tendency to massage his scalp when she was trying to comfort him and it was almost the same. Almost anyway. "Well, you look like you're listening, so I hope you don't mind if I end up rambling. See, a while ago a friend of mine kissed me in the kitchen and after that I think I was in some pretty heavy denial, but then I realized he was right - that I was gay. So...we ended up sort of together for about a week and then today he told me that it really shouldn't continue cause we're looking for two different things. I guess I was a bit more upset about it than I realized at the time, but I'm okay now, honest. I'm just confused as to what it is I'm even looking for in a relationship, myself. It's not like I've ever been in one before all that happened with him." he sighed, looking up towards the sky. The full moon had already been passed for a week, yet he could always feel the moon's pull no matter what stage it was at. "And...now I have to keep lying to my very best friend because I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be all that accepting if he found out that I'm gay. So I can't tell him about that or what just happened with Viktor. It's really bumming me out, cause I usually can tell him almost anything. I'm sorry, girl. Have I lost your interest yet?" he chuckled softly, continuing to scratch behind the wolf's ears.

Aurelia was sure if she was a cat instead of a wolf, she'd be purring. Having her ears scratched was nice, and she gave a sympathetic whine at the boy's troubles. Viktor? Krum? No other Viktors...this is odd. As is having my ears scratched.Hm. Oh well...poor Remus...this is a lot for anyone to deal with She nudged his arm with her nose, and moved a step forward, sitting again. Now she was in easy reach, feeling more like a dog than a wolf, but not minding. At the full moon, this boy would be undisputed alpha of the forest, and she recognized that...and that he was someone who needed someone to talk to. It was alright with Aura, she was good at keeping secrets.

"You're just so sweet, girl." Remus continued to scratch behind the wolf's ears. "It's nice to talk to someone, well you're not a person but to me you're still someone, about all this. I talked to my brother about it, which always helps, but I guess it's sort of nice to talk to someone who doesn't know you and the people you're talking about." He leaned forward slightly, adding his other hand so both hands were now scratching behind the wolf's ears. He bet the wolf was enjoying it a lot.

Her tail started wagging very slightly, and Aurelia knew if she could laugh, she could be. As it was, she was giving a rather toothy thing that could nearly be called a grin. If it weren't for the fact that a wolf showing it's teeth usually meant it felt threatened, anyway. She figured her posture made up for it. She nudged his arm gently again with her nose, making a mental note to wander around the school more, if it meant she'd get her ears scratched more.

[Ahh...will be on and off. Have to go run out for printing something. >_< ]

Remus grinned, seeing the wolf grinning. "You're enjoying this aren't you, girl? Hopefully I'll see you again after tonight. Anytime you want your ears scratched, come find me." he laughed, lightly kissing the top of the wolf's head. Hehe, yeah. Have fun with that one.

Aurelia jumped to her feet upon having him kiss her head. This boy is just unafraid of wild animals...and that'll be awkwarder than anything else if he finds out about me. She shook her head, backing up. She made the slightest of nods, and took a deep breath. Then, in a flash, she was off across the grounds in a easy but speedy lope. Well, it's been an interesting time. Then thoughts left her mind as she felt the soft grass on her paws, the air in her fur, and the smells on the wind. A lone howl escaped her jaws to echo on the wind.

Remus watches the wolf run off, waving to her as she went. That was really weird though...to see a wolf this far out from the forest, and this close to the school. He stood up and, brushing his pants off, turned and headed back into the castle.

THIS IS SET BEFORE THE SINGLES MIXER. *nods*

Molly wanders out to the courtyard to get some fresh air. She thinks maybe that will help her stay awake - she's tired because her studying the night before was rudely interrupted by one Antonin Dolohov, followed by one Kingsley Shacklebolt and afterwards it had been impossible for her to concentrate anymore, but she'd also been too riled up and angry to sleep. She takes a seat on one of the stone benches, takes her knitting out, pulls a face at it, and puts it back in her bag. Instead she just leans back, resting her weight on her hands and spacing out.

Viktor walks over with his knitting supplies, smiling when first sees Molly but frowning when he realizes she doesn't look too happy. "Hey, Molly," he says, looking concerned as he sits down next to her and placing his knitting needles off to the side. "Something wrong?"

Molly glances over at Viktor, smiling tiredly but devoid of her usual chirpiness. "Hey Viktor! How are you? I'm alright, just, like, super tired and stuff. Long story," she says, a slight scowl on her face. "Ooh, whatcha knitting?"

"This? Er- It's a scarf," he shrugged. "I vos just bored and felt like knitting, and this is vot I ended up making," he says as he holds up the half-finished scarf. "Do you vant to talk about it? I have time for a long story," he said with a small smile.

"It's nice," Molly murmurs, admiring the scarf around a little yawn. Then she tosses her hair back, her eyes flashing angrily as she sits up straight. "OhmyGod! It's, like, the most annoying thing ever! So I was in an old classroom last night, and some big Slytherin jackass just comes up and starts totally bugging me and just would not go away! Ugh. Like, how many times do I have to tell someone to bugger off, right? He was such a pig!" she scowls, running over the whole debacle in her head once more.
