Re: The Courtyard
"What part of law doesn't have the Latin bits?" he asked, sitting down beside her, and still looking down at her, I guess. "I'm doin' alright! How've you been, I don't think I've seen you since the mixer, and I don't really remember much of that anyway," he said, laughing lightly. "How've you been, though? Anything interesting?"
Re: The Courtyard
"Um, the commas?" Molly responds, because that's about all the non-Latin she's seeing in this big old dusty book. She giggles at the memory of the mixer, because not being hampered by her silly little crush on Rad has done wonders for her sense of humour about Doctor dry-humping on the dance floor. "Yeah, Viktor said you guys were pretty out of it. I've been good - whole bunches of stuff has happened since then. I snogged Sirius Black, then Gideon wanted to kill him, then I wanted to kill Gideon. Then we made a box fort. Good times, you know?"

Re: The Courtyard
"You-- YOU SNOGGED SIRIUS? You lucky bitch! Why's that one gotta be straight," he pouted, because we all know how Rad like's a man with piercings and tattoos. "But anyway, aside from that nice thing-- wait. Hold up. I thought you said Sirius was with your sister? Or I heard that somewhere, anyway," he said, frowning slightly, before shrugging and high fiving her anyway. "In that case, SUPER nice one, and if it comes down to a cat fight, my money's on you kickin' ass," he laughed. "Also, box forts are win. I made a blanket fort with your brother not too long ago. Er, Fabian, not Gideon, I don't really hang out with Gideon."
Re: The Courtyard
Molly smirks, because yeah, she's just that damned attractive. Someone should really point that out to Kingsley. Just saying. Anyway... She smacks Rad lightly for using the 'B' word, then shrugs, pulling a little 'shit could get messy there' face. "I don't know. It's, like, weird. Alice was there one minute and we were talking -well, not talking out loud but still totally having a conversation- and I was like 'ok, all yours, sis' and then she just, like, disappeared. I don't even think Sirius knew what he was doing he was so bombed by then anyway. Viktor says he totally doesn't remember a thing either, so I think it was just, like, one of those things, you know? Just a careless snog between two hot people on a dance floor, not like I'm actually gonna do anything else about it anyway. Gid reckons I should come clean with Ali, but I kinda think we should just, like, leave it be, you know? Whatever, I'll jump off that bridge when I come to it," she shrugs, and then greams. "How is Fay? I haven't hung out with him in a while. I should bake him cookies or something - he loves those m&ms ones I make because they're all rainbow-y. It's kinda sad - Gid's the only one of my siblings I see these days, really."

Re: The Courtyard
"Aw, that sucks. Yeah, Fabian's become a really good friend of mine, at least, we hang out a lot. We're not, superclose, or anything, but he's good company. He's always cheery, it seems, which is nice-- all you Prewetts have gorgeous smiles!" he said, grinning as he tries not to spend too much time thinking about Fabian, especially not in front of his frikkin' sister. "But yeah, he's seemed happy whenever I've seen him, though he did mention not hanging out with his siblings much either. You guys, should have like a family reunion or something, with special cookies!"
Re: The Courtyard
Mya thinks we should erase school, work and timezones from life at least one day a week. That's doable, right?
Molly greams. Thanks! We totally do! And yours isn't bad either, you know," she giggles. "Yeah, Fabian's always, like, so super happy. It's awesome. Well, we are awesome, so that stacks up. An awesome family reunion would be so cool! Dunno about the Special Cookies though - Fabian's not completely into the Special Ingredient, and I don't want Ali getting too into it, you know? If she got busted or something, our parents would probably flip out at me or whatever. So, like, what else is new?"

Re: The Courtyard
Oh, completely doable. "Ah, yeah, he told me he's never been high, and I pretty much gaped at him. How can you not enjoy one of the finer things in life, when you live with Molly and Gideon!? Seriously, your cookies are the BEST!" he said, hugging Molly briefly and flashing his smile like he always does. "But I suppose you have a point there, about Alice. She's crazy enough without that stuff as it is," he pointed out, shaking his head thinking of her wild antics. "As for what else is new, I have to say, not a lot at all. I've been meaning to catch up with Viktor since the morning after the party, but I haven't had the chance, so far. I'll find him eventually, I suppose, I haven't exactly been actively lookin' for him, but I figure he and I have business to take care of, or at least that's what I'm hopin' for," he laughed.

oh that was fun....
Molly greams and hugs Rad back, relieved to be able to do that without going completely quaffley now. "Of course my Cookies are the best. So are my cakes, by the way, and... well, if it can be made into food, like, I'm the person for the job. Let's just totally leave it at that. Yeah, Viktor's around - we totally have a standing breakfast date and all, so I see him a bit. Did you guys really find the infamous Hogwarts Jaguar!? Like, seriously, what the hell, Rad? That is just freakin' weird. I totally thought it was a myth," she shrugs. "Are there pictures or did you guys just, like, make it up or whatever? Go on, tell me."

Re: The Courtyard
"Uh, yeah, we actually did find the Infamous Hogwarts Jaguar. I was pretty sure that thing was a myth, until it actually showed up. Viktor didn't seem to like it very much because it was debating eating his pet duck, but I love jungle cats! My patronus is a panther, after all. I named the jaguar Princess Pretty Whiskers, and she seemed to like me just fine. Regulus didn't seem to take a liking either, but that was probably because I kept threatening to feed the little twerp to the kitty. She does need to eat, y'know. As for pictures... I don't think any of us thought to bring a camera, though I sure as hell wish I had one when we found Sirius on the roof of the Astronomy Tower wearing nothing but boxers and a great deal of pineapple, which none of us seemed to know where it came from. Priceless scene, though, I have to say," he said, bursting out laughing at the memory.
Re: The Courtyard
Molly stares for a moment, then bursts out laughing along with Rad. "OhmyGod! Like, seriously? That's totally hilarious! You could totally have made galleons on that if you had pictures!" she says, trying to picture a boxer-clad Sirius (not so hard to picture given his strip tease) covered with pineapple. "Huh, my patronus is a three toed sloth," she comments, because she likes to comment on stuff. "I totally like it. Viktor named it Joey. Does your patronus have a name? I totally didn't think they needed them, but then Viktor's had one so I figured it was only fair to give Joey one too, you know?"

Re: The Courtyard
"... No. I had not thought to name my patronus, really, because after all, isn't it just a shadow of the self? But I suppose I could give it a name, sometime," he said, shrugging. "But I have to say I am in no way surprised that your patronus is a sloth," he laughed, because it really does suit Molly. "But yeah, I so wish I'd taken pictures, can you imagine how much blackmail I would have? But then again, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who's ashamed of anything, kinda like me, so I don't think that'd really work at all. Ugh! I still can't believe you get to snog him, really now," he said with a chuckle.
Re: The Courtyard
Mya loves Molly's sloth. Like, so fucking much. Molly giggles. "Yeah, he'd be the type that would just, like, ask for a copy so he could blow it up and plaster it to the wall in McGoogles classroom with a permanent sticking charm. And what can I say? I'm irresistible to straight boys - all I had to do was, like, dance with the guy for five minutes," she smirks. She pulls a face for less than a quarter of a second before she goes back to smirking. She's just realised that it's different with Kingsley - he's not impressed by her usual girlish ways, in fact, he's completely the opposite, and her eyes flicker to the dusty book in her lap for a second before she's back to smirking easily and holding eye contact.

Re: The Courtyard
Caradoc watches her eyes flicker to the book again, and remembers that he'd had a question for her earlier. "Uh, Molly? Not to be rude or anything, but why the fuck are you reading that thing anyway? I wasn't aware you wanted to go into law, or anything, and it's not exactly light reading," he pointed out, grimacing at the book. "I don't think you could pay me enough in galleons or boy toys to get me to brave that thing all the way through."
Re: The Courtyard
Molly shrugs and looks away, fiddling with the ends of her red hair. "It's just this thing that I have. I guess you could say it's, like, a vendetta or something and I have a point to prove. Just because it's bigger than a trashy magazine, doesn't mean I can't totally handle it, you know."

Re: The Courtyard
"Wait, you're reading this because you feel like you have to prove something? Um, well, honestly, I'll be blunt, I think that's kinda fuckin' stupid. Why the hell would you feel the need to prove anything? You don't need to read this stuff to prove you're an intelligent woman, anyone who matters already knows that, and you don't need to teach yourself Latin to show that. Anyone who can't already see you're smart isn't worth the time and effort you're putting into this, Molly," he said, frowning at her.
Re: The Courtyard
Molly glares at the offending book, her temper provoked by her oversensitivity when it comes to the 'S' word. She's confused by Rad's words, though, and doesn't know how to make him understand why she needs to do this. "You wouldn't get it," she finally settles on. Cop-out of the century. "It's, like, I know I'm not stupid and stuff, but whenever I tell people that it sort of feels like they're just patting me on the head to make me feel better or votever. So I'm totally going to prove them wrong, and then they'll see that I'm not just cute, funny, adorable Molly, but I actually think of, like, important stuff too."

Re: The Courtyard
"There are better ways to prove it, then, than some three hundred year old record of the Wizengamot's trials, or whatever that is. Why not read something you're actually interested in, then? There's more to being 'intelligent' than studying law textbooks on their last days of life, that thing's going to fall apart, or you're going to choke on dust," he remarked, grimacing at the book. "You don't need to tell anyone you're not stupid. I know you're not, Viktor knows you're not, and your family knows you're not, for sure. And if anyone says differently, just beat them down with a frying pan and go back to being awesome."
Re: The Courtyard
Molly smirks a little at that. "That's plan B," she confides, given all the times she's fantasised about bashing Kingsley's face with a frying pan. That was before she started having a different type of fantasy starring him, of course. "It's just weird - usually the natural way for a Prewett when we're sad is to stop being sad and be awesome instead. Whatever, I'm sick of dealing with this. And for the record I only choked on the dust once," she says, forcing a little giggle. "Thanks, Rad."

Re: The Courtyard
Aww it's okay <3 Cheer up, love, think happy thoughts like Mosley!
"As long as it was only the once," he said, joining in her laughter. "But really, Molly, there's way more to this than you're telling me. I'm not as stupid as I look, you know, while we're on the topic assumptions of intelligence levels. What's the guy's name, and why are you chasing after someone too dense to see your worth?"

Re: The Courtyard
<3 thanks love! *greams at Mosley*
Molly flushes a little. It had been bad enough when she'd come down from her high and realised she'd spilled to Viktor all about Kingsley, she can't yet fathom the thought of telling someone in her right mind. She sighs and shrugs, skirting around that whole minor detail of names. "I've never not been instantly liked before," she blurts. "And he's just... he's so smart, and he's one of those real do-gooder types, you know? Like, he tutors the little first and second years and everything, and I guess I just, like, totally admire that, you know? Is that so wrong?" she asks, fiddling with her hair.

Re: The Courtyard
"Well, that sounds sweet of him. I don't know that I'd have the patience to deal with first and second years myself," he laughed, trying to imagine himself tutoring small children, and failing to visualize that going well. "And no, it isn't wrong, not at all. There's never anything wrong with having feelings for someone, though in some cases it's best not to act on them. Not something I'm good at, keeping myself in check, so don't ever ask me for advice on that sort of thing. But getting a guy, that I can help with," he said, grinning down at Molly. "So what's wrong with this guy, and how the hell is he smart, if he doesn't like you already?"
Re: The Courtyard
"I like little kids," Molly comments with a smile, because holyfuck she'd want to! "Are you saying that maybe I should, like, do nothing?" she asks, her voice smaller than usual. "He thinks I talk too much and that I, like, don't take anything seriously but I totally do! It's not my fault I like to talk to people, and they like to talk to me! Usually it's a case of smile, hair flip, and BAM, Molly gets what Molly wants. It's fun, it's easy, and I like it that way!" she frouts, clearly not taking to well to having been challenged.

Re: The Courtyard
"Hey, I didn't say do nothing. Obviously you're gonna have to do a little more than that for this guy. Trust me when I say I know what you mean, about havin' it easy and likin' it that way, hell, that's my life in a nut shell. But there's another side to it-- I like a challenge, and girl, it sounds like you've got one. He thinks you talk too much? Start talkin' about things that interest him, maybe he'll find he actually likes what you have to say. But maybe it's time you learned to talk less with your words and more with your body. No, not the kind of way you talk to your sister, a different kind of body language," he said, winking at Molly. "You'd be surprised what some of that can do to a guy, it's tormenting, you know, when a guy or girl in your case taunts you, with the way they're standing, even, or the way they're lookin' at you with that smirk on their lips. It'll work wonders, 'cause then you can't stop thinking about it, whether you like it or not. When it's obvious flirting, it's there and it's fun and easy, but when it's just implied with a smile or a glance, it just gets your mind working, and it's not so easy to brush off."
Re: The Courtyard
Molly glances guiltily at the book she's still holding. That dusty, heavy, kinda smelly and full of crap she doesn't even understand tome. Consciously or not, it had been the first thing her mind had leapt to in connection with Kingsley and his interests. Maybe it had been a bit of both - not only did she want to prove to him that she could keep up with him intellectually, but she'd chosen the exact topic he'd said he wanted to pursue so that maybe he'd think she was more interesting. Oh crap, four and a half lines and she hasn't spoken, I'd better fix that. Molly shrugs. "I don't know if I could say that I really, like, like it," she says, because since Kingsley had entered her life she's spent more time second guessing herself and her own value than she has in sixteen years. "But it's totally made me more determined, you know? Like, I just want a little respect," she says, then sighs in exasperation. "See, that's the thing - I, like, know how to do all that stuff when I want to, it's always just been natural. But when I'm around this guy I totally freeze up and then before I know it we're yelling at each other and I'm swearing in Bulgarian and he's slamming the door on the way out!"
