Evan reaches down, grabbing her arms and forcefully setting her on her feet.

"No," he says firmly. "You stay on your feet, ya hear me?"

He keeps his hands on her arms, but softens his grip a little.

Evan drops his arms to his side uselessly.

"Fuck, Pen, I don't even know. Ya just gotta get on with it, I guess. Keep ya head up? Yo gotta never, ever let 'em know they got ya down."

He looks away, completely clueless as to what to do. His eyes fall on Marcus and he glares before looking moodily away. He's in the mood for a fight again, but his body isn't.

Penny chokes out a sob and flinches when Evan starts to yell. "whatever you say Marcus..." she thinks about Cormac then, and how she needs to tell Marcus about what had happened. how she was going to do that she had no clue. her life was a huge mess

she stared at him, debating on telling him while Evan was still there. she decided just to say it. "Cormac left today...and he-he told me he still loves me..." she looked down "and he kissed me..." she looked up again "but i pulled away. I didn't kiss him back I swear."

He leaned forward so Evan could not hear them as easily and so he could talk quieter. "Penny, don't worry about it. It's no big deal and I trust you...So he did tell you? Good." He said the last part mostly to himself.

she looked up at him, eyes surprised "Marcus..." she smiled slightly. maybe her life wasn't going to be even more complicated than it already was. she watches Evan leave and frowns.

He stood up slowly and stiffly walked over to her and nodded. "Of course." He went to kiss her but instead decided to give her a hug. She probably didn't want to be touched in any sexual way.
