Penny's jaw dropped and she gasped "What?! Are you serious! Marcus! that's not okay!"

"Penny...please. Don't worry about it. I'm fine." He gave her a reassuring look and brushed the hair out of her face. "Really...I'm fine. It's nothing to worry about."

she flinched a bit at Marcus' touch but stared at him "Nothing to worry about?! Marcus! he used an unforgivable curse on you! and he-he raped me...he doesn't deserve to live!" it was the first time she had acknowledged her rape out loud, she cringed internally, feeling dirty

He took in a deap breath. He knew she was gonna flip a bitch and that's why he hadn't told her before now. "I know Penny. I do. But killing him isn't going to take back what he did. Yes he should get punished for what he did to you, but he crucio'd me and that's done and over with. It's nothing to worry about."

"Marcus..." a sad look fell across her face. she wanted to reach out to him, but was still violently afraid of physical contact.

"Please Penny....All I want you to worry about is yourself." He reached over and slowly grabbed her hand, entertwining their fingers. "You need to take care of yourself right now. Not me."

"but...i don't want you getting hurt either..." she glanced down at their intertwined fingers and bit her lip. she felt sick to her stomach but feared she'd hurt marcus' feelings if she pulled away

He looked at her face and saw the fear in her eyes and pulled his hand away from hers. "Penny, I can take care of myself. Okay? You just take care of yourself."

she sighed at the loss of contact "I-I'm sorry..." she felt so violated and dirty and she didn't know how Marcus could possibly still want her. she woke up in the middle of the night with Barty's face cackling at her. it was so much worse to have to imagine what happened. she shuddered.

[hah. wow. yea that wouldn't scare her or anything...]

"It's fine Penny." He rested his hand on the couch next to her hers in case she felt the need to hold it. "I love you Penny." He looked into her eyes "And I am going to help you get through this." He gave her a concerned look as she shuddered. "What's wrong?"

she stared at her hands in her lap "I-I see him when I sleep. I can't remember anything, so my mind makes up horrible visions."

He gave her a concerned look. "Penny, I'm sorry...I wish I could find a way to help. Or find a way to take it away. I really do."

a tear slipped down her face "I-I don't know what to do...I can't hardly sleep anymore, for fear of seeing his taunting face or other visions" she shuddered again and brought her knees up to her chin, her arms wrapping around them

"Penny...."He gave her an even more concerned look. All he wanted to do was wrap her into a loving hug and never let go, but he knew she probably didn't want that. He looked away from her and looked into the fireplace. "I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I wasn't there to save you, to stop him from doing this to you. To keep you protected."

Penny remained silent. it wasn't Marcus' fault. she knew that. she just wished she would have been smarter, stronger, quicker with a wand. maybe then none of this would have happened. a part of her yearned for Marcus to reach out to her, wrap her in his safe and comforting arms, but another part shuddered at the thought of physical touch. "when will things get better?" she didn't realize she spoke aloud

"It can only get better from here Penny" He looked down at his hand and hers. He wished he could tell her it would all be okay, that she would wake up tomorrow and be fine. But he knew that wasn't true. "Listen Penny. He's never going to come near you...ever again....Both me and Evan are going to make sure of that." He gave her a reasurring look and leaned in to give her a hug but then pulled away before he did, remembering that she probably wouldn't want that."

she nodded as a few more tears slipped down her face. she looked at him and froze for a split second when Marcus began to lean towards her. she threw a hissy fit in her mind before giving in and leaning towards Marcus

He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. "I know you don't want to be touched. But you need a hug."

[Penelope Rosier]

she nodded and fell into his arms, closing her eyes. she tried her best to relax and clear her mind

[i may or may not be going to bed soon. i'm in a weird mood. so yea. just a head's up]

"Think of everything happy Penny. All the times you've smiled, and laughed." He said as he pulled her close and rubbed her back comfortingly and he lightly kissed her head and rested his on hers.

[Its all good. We can fall asleep or pause it...whatever is cool ]

she sighed, making herself be comfortable in Marcus' arms. this was okay. this was a safe place. Marcus was not going to hurt her.

He leaned back on the couch, still holding her close. "You don't have to leave Penny. We can stay here if you want. I want you to feel comfortable and safe."

she nodded "i'm trying...I am." she yawned

He leaned back looking into her eyes and brushed the hair out of her face and tucked it behid her ear. "If you need anything I want you to tell me okay?" He leans back again. "Even if it's just something to make you more comfortable."
