He kept his arms protectively around her and slowly started to fall into a light sleep. Not a deep sleep because then Angela thinks someone might come rape her again.

Marcus notices her fall asleep and leans his head back on the couch. He was hoping that being in his arms would help her not think of Barty. He just laid there, not wanting to fall asleep because he didn't want anyone to come in and hurt her.

Penny shifted in Marcus' arms and opened her eyes. she started to freak out internally when she felt someone's arms around her, but breathed a sigh of relief realizing it was only Marcus

Marcus felt her moving on him and broke out of his daze. He smiled slightly at her. "Did you uhh sleep good?"

she tensed again, and reminded herself she was safe here. "no. i'm not." she smiled weakly and rubbed at the bruises on her wrists

He smiled at her and then his smile turned into a frown when he saw the bruises on her wrists. "Are there any other bruises I should know about Penny? Other than the ones on your neck and wrists?"

Then this never would have happened. And you were not being stupid. He violated you and then obliviated you so you wouldn't remember it. You're not the stupid one."
