YAY EGGS! Yay for making the stove your bitch.
Don't judge me, I'm tired...

Hermione sighs loudly as books are flung all over the library floor. Honestly, does nobody respect books anymore? She is about to loudly berate the shameless book vandal when her attention is drawn to the flash of red hair at her feet, scrambling to pick up the last of the fumbled books. She blinks.
"Hello Percy. Are you alright?" she asks, her voice laced with a touch of concern to see his burning face. He might've hurt himself when he tripped, after all.

The stove IS my bitch.

"Uh, yes, t-thank you, I am fine," he stuttered, face still flushed as he finally collected the last of them and hugged them close to his chest, trying not to meet her eyes. "H-how're you, Hermione?"

HELL YEAH.

Hermione smiles kindly, because when you try and stuff as many books into her bag as she does, you can't exactly be a stranger to the times they end up all over the ground. So she knows how it goes. "I'm fine, thank you. I've just been taking the time to create my study schedule for the semester. See, it's colour-coordinated by class," she explains, showing him because somehow she knows she's happened upon the only person in the world who might actually be interested. Unlike her friends, who will either feign interest for 30 seconds to make her feel better, or just skip straight into ridiculing her.

SORRY. I HAD TO GO.

Percy brightened slightly and nodded. "That's nice, I made mine yesterday, but it's not colour-coordinated," he replied, the blush finally creeping out of his face slowly. "Gotten much studying done? It's impossible, in my dormitory, with that oaf Oliver sharing it. It's always loud, obnoxious quidditch talk, whenever I take out a book," he said rather exasperatedly.

No worries. *amuses herself with pictures of men of varying levels of attractiveness*

"I like to colour-coordinate mine just for ease of reference," she explains with a little smile, heartened by the thought that she's not the only person in the whole school with a study schedule after only the first week. "I've not managed much study yet, either. You're not the only one who shares a dorm with people who have no respect for others' study needs. Yesterday Katie Bell all but manhandled me because I said I was going to come here after class. Meanwhile, her timetable is so filthy already that she can barely read it," she says, sniffing disdainfully. "How she expects to make it through NEWTs, I will never know."

"Ugh! I hate that, I understand completely. I don't understand how people can just be so dirty. My area of the dormitory is completely organized, and well dusted, but Oliver's? It's practically a pig sty, the way he keeps things. It's revolting, and it's no wonder he can never find his textbooks. I was hardly aware he had any, however," he snorted, shaking his head in disapproval. "But colour-coordinating is a good idea, I'll admit."

HE IS SO ON MY LIST! XD

Hermione shudders a little. "He sounds like a bit of a nightmare to live with, really. Personally I've never really had much to do with Oliver, beyond when I used to spend time with Harry and he would storm up and start yammering on about quidditch. Most of the girls in my dorm aren't all that bad, really. I do wish they'd pick their clothes up off the floor occasionally, though. And I very much wish Katie would leave me be instead of cutting into my study time with all her talk of boys and rule-breaking and the like. I suppose she means well, it's just a bit annoying, actually."
Wow. I think that's the most Hermione's even spoken in all of 2.0.

... Percy will speak plenty, when he's bitching to Ol, of course.

Percy sighs and shrugs. "We'll never understand them, I suppose. I'm not entirely sure my roommates can even read, to be perfectly honest," he laughed lightly, pushing his glasses up his nose as he finally brought himself to meet Hermione's eyes, a mistake, since he's already blushing again. Poor kid.

Hermione giggles lightly, meeting Percy's eyes as well. "Well, Katie did try to tell me she was enrolled in History of Maverick, if that's any indication of what I have to put up with at times." She notices Percy blushing again, and doesn't even really understand why he would be doing that. She just knows it makes her feel awkward (well, more awkward) and she blushes a little herself. Jeez, they're as bad as each other.

... This is just a disaster... Beyond disasters. Are you online on Skype? Because I haven't seen you..

"History of... Maverick? Please tell me you're joking. What was she expecting, a class about John McCain?" he asked with a laugh, because Eowyn can't not make a John McCain joke, sorry to the American Republicans who are reading this. DON'T LIE, IT WAS FUNNY. HA. HA. HA. See? I made myself laugh. I'm so cool. Okay, I'm done being an annoying prat of a Democrat now. "Goodness. Once, I had to explain the difference between Astrology and Astronomy to my younger brothers. I'll never understand what they see in Divination, either, for that matter. It's completely bonkers," he said, looking rather annoyed at the subject. "Completely illogical, the lot of them, especially Ron, he's so superstitious! Going on about how the grim is real, all the time."

*feels like these two need to go the way of Old Yeller*

"Don't even speak to me about Divination," Hermione scoffs, her eyes shining a little the way they do when she's truly passionate about what she's saying. Yeah, she hates Divination that much. "Such an illogical, useless, subject! People only take it for an easy class, it should be scrapped altogther to make room in the curriculum for useful studies!"

"Absolutely! That Trelawney is nothing but an old fraud, it's despicable that she actually gets paid to sit in a sweltering hot tower making tea! It's revolting, when the money and time could be better used for an actual subject," he said, his cheeks turning even more pink as he saw that look in her eyes-- in some strange way, it almost excited him.

Ohshit, he encouraged her. She's on a roll now, her eyes sparkling and her own cheeks turning pink and her hand waving about just a little bit as she rants. "My goodness, she's an old fraud and a terrible excuse for an educator! Honestly, to think she's been kept on all these years when she bases her entire routine on scaremongering and vague predictions that can be applied to any situation! And meanwhile we've not had the same Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor for two years together since I've been here! Surely the money could be far better spent on standardizing the Defence curriculum, or better still finding more appropriate teaching staff."

Percy is surprised at her sudden fieriness, but finds he can't help but like it, and a slight smile makes its way onto his face as he laughs and gazes at her pretty face, beneath those bushy curls. "Absolutely! It's an outrage, really, the lack of a proper defense program. In this day and age, one would think that this school had sorted out its priorities! But alas, nothing can be done, I suppose, at the student level. Personally I would welcome an opportunity to use my status as a prefect to voice my opinions on matters such as these, but while this school is run by Trelawney and the rest of the nutters, nothing will ever be accomplished," he said, sighing. Percy would like Umbridge...

He would...
Hermione sighs a little, looking away. "There are so many brilliant professors here. Like Professor McGonagall, and Professor Flitwick, who are such brilliant educators, and really have and understanding of what it takes to make Hogwarts the great institution it is. It's awful that they're hindered by people like Trelawney, who don't even deserve the title of 'professor', and if they would only remove her, Hogwarts would be the better for it."

"I agree, McGonnagall is truly an amazing woman, whom I admire greatly. And you musn't forget Professor Vector, truly a wonderful Arithmancy professor, in my opinion, at the least. Simply brilliant. It's unfortunate indeed, that they should be restrained due to plebians with a well acted charade such as Trelawney. Personally, I have a better use for those crystal balls," he muttered under his breath.

Hermione looks faintly scandalised at having forgotten to list one of her favourite professors. "Of course! Professor Vector is simply genius! She has so much to teach, I love her classes more than any other, I think," she says. Mostly because only serious students tend to take Arithmancy at all, so it's a far more constructive learning environment. This is the sort of thing that gets Hermione excited. There really is no hope for her. "Crystal balls are good for nothing more than paperweights," she says, her nose turned up just a little.

Or shoving them places, like up that too-sexy Viktor Krum's arse. Wait, what? he thought, trying to focus on Hermione again-- not exactly a hard task, for him. "I love her classes as well. Have you given a thought to what you want to do after Hogwarts, yet? Personally I was thinking of going into the ministry, like my father, though in an entirely different field, of course, I have to say electrical sockets and rubber ducks aren't of much interest to me." That's right, Viktor. PERCY DOESN'T LIKE RUBBER DUCKS. SUCK ON THAT.

"I quite like rubber ducks," Hermione comments offhandedly, but does not mention Viktor's name because this is awkward enough as it is and we'll never get forward movement if Hermione mentions her best friend right now. "A friend of mine has the most amazing collection of them! I had no idea there were so many different types in the world. As for me, I've given a little thought as to what I'd like to do, of course. I am already in sixth year after all! The Ministry certainly seems like the best option. I think I'd like to get into either policy making of some kind, or perhaps become an Unspeakable one day. Do you have a preferred field, Percy?" she asks, smiling politely and holding eye contact, because it's polite.

"I do indeed," he said, trying not to think about Hermione's other probably good looking male friends, who like rubber ducks, just like she does. "I was hoping to go into International Relations for now, and eventually work directly for the minister himself. You see, I have hopes of being minister of magic myself one day, and if I work hard enough, I never know, I might just make it," he said with a slightly embarrassed smile, feeling strange telling someone other than his mother about his dreams and hopes, because he doesn't have friends, SO LAY OFF, OKAY, VIKTOR? -hugs poor Percy-

Hermione grins. She does really like to see people with ambition, after all. "Wouldn't that be wonderful? Well, you're certainly dedicated enough to make it one day, I think. Imagine all the good you could do for our community then!" Her eyes even light up a little at the prospect. Maybe he would be sympathetic to Elf Rights, and supportive of S.P.E.W!
