Scorpius, who hadn't left the castle in ages, decided to get some fresh air and sun so that he doesn't start looking like a Cullen. That would be bad. He froze when he spotted Rose and immediately thought of heading back to the castle. The conversation with Audrey came to mind though, and he figured he really ought to talk to Rose about what happened. Walking over cautiously he broke the silence and asked, "Should I just head back to the castle and avoid getting hurt...or do you maybe want to talk?"

Rose jumped and whirled around. She gazed at him for a moment, silent, but she eventually spoke. "As much as I want to send you away and tell you I never want to see you again, I don't think I'd be able to do that," she said, kicking at the sand. "So, say what you need to say."

He watched her carefully for a moment then gave her a slight nod. "I'm sorry," he said, the first thing that came to mind. "I'm sorry for leading you on...I'm sorry for shagging you on the library table...I'm sorry for being the one to talk away your virginity...I'm sorry for leaving you afterwards. I fucked up Rose...and I'm really, truly sorry," he said with as much sincerity as he could manage.

Rose bit her lip. "Yeah, you fucked up big time... but so did I. I let you do all that stuff. I didn't even try and stop it, so I'm sorry too. If I had spoken up, this wouldn't have happened."

Paused.

"Maybe...but I still should have resisted," he said, kicking at the sand with his shoe lightly. "I..." he broke off, unsure of what to really say and if he ought to say anything right now. "I really didn't mean for things to go like that. I...if I could do it definitely, I would have. I don't regret our time together though Rose," he mumbled, his gaze firmly locked on the ground as he refused to make eye contact with her.

"It's--it's okay. Maybe we should just try and forget about it," she said, running a hand through her hair, an expression of awkwardness crossing her face. "I'm not exactly sure if that's possible, thou--" she trailed off and kicked the dirt again as he said that last sentence. She didn't understand. How could a person who hates her with a passion not regret something so intimate? And how did she not regret it either? For once, something didn't make an ounce of sense in Rose's mind. "Ye-yeah, neither do I," she confessed.

"Things...aren't making sense," he confessed, folding his arms over his chest as his eyes shifted their gaze out to the lake. "I...what if I said... that I feel differently now?" he questioned, deciding to go with Audrey's advice, no matter how much he wanted to just bolt right now. "What if I told you that I might...feel something...for you." He hesitantly looked at her, curious to see if he freaked her out or caused some sort of reaction.

"If you had told me that even a week ago, I probably would have kicked you in the gonads," she said with a small girk. "But now--" she began, taking a step closer to him and smiling "--I kind of want to do a happy dance, complete with cartwheels and fist pumping. Yep." She nodded awkwardly.

"That...that doesn't quite clarify the whole situation though," he said, though he couldn't help but sigh lightly in relief that perhaps Audrey had been spot on with her advice. "Do you feel something too? Am I foolish for opening myself up like this? I mean...I'm Scorpius Freaking Malfoy...me...and girls...I don't do this..." he said.

"Er, yeah, I basically just said that with the happy dance fist pump thing," she said, doing an example fist pump.

"But to make it simple, yes, I do. What hurt the most after... you know, was when you left, because I had such strong feelings for you--especially after that," she said. She looked at him oddly. "You don't do 'this.' What is 'this', exactly?"

Scorpius felt oddly giddy and happy when she said that she felt the same. Perhaps there was something much deeper than their hatred. Maybe...maybe they could actually make something of this. "I don't do feelings, I don't do...relationships...or love...or any of that weird connection type stuff. I don't...I don't know how to. I, something inside me says that I want to try...but I'm worried of fucking up and making things loads worse."

"Everyone screws up at a relationship at some point," she reassured him. "I feel apprehensive about this too, you know. I feel like I won't be enough for you, like I won't be worth it or something." She sat down on a rock and sighed. "This won't be easy, you know. If my dad finds out he's going to feed you to the bolars. And then he will use your remains as pie ingredients."

Scorpius was more than confused when she mentioned bolars, but decided it was best not to question it. "Do you think my family is going to be crazy about this either?" he questioned trying to keep a huff out of his voice. "You're a Weasley...our parents hated each other in school. Hell, do you know how many times I've heard about the 'blood traitors' and to not get close to any of 'your lot'? I can't even begin to keep track...yet here I am. I fell for one," he admitted.

Rose raised her eyebrows in surprise. "I think that's the first time you've ever called me Weasley," she noticed, "rather than Weasel. But anyway, I've heard the same thing, really. I was told to avoid you at all costs except when I had to beat you in a test. My dad specifically told me to beat you in every exam. But here I am, not caring about the next test, because I fell for you."

"Are you sure this is the right thing?" he asked hesitantly, suddenly freezing when he realized that they both felt something for each other. "I mean...you know my reputation Rose. What if... what if I can't change?" he asked, flopping down onto the ground and staring out at the lake. "What if things start out great...but...I can't change? What if...I'm only gonna break break your, break break your heart."

"I know," he said with a sigh, knowing that she was right. There had to be loads of people who used to be like him and are now in faithful relationships with a wife and kids. Not that he was thinking about that kind of thing with Rose...just the faithful part. Yeah. "I'll try. I will. I don't want to disappoint you though."

And here comes Molly ~~walking her pet Komodo Dragons, Gideon and Fabian~~. She struts along the beach in her clunky combat boots, because she's feeling like it's a combat boot kinda day, and stops suddenly when she spots one of the people in the world she least wants to see. In fact, one might go so far as to say Rad is Prewett Enemy Number One. With the flood of emotions that rushes through her at the sight of the person who had hurt her brother, Molly finds herself even too angry to yell. "You couldn't just, like, leave him alone, could you?" she says, glaring mutinously up at him.

And as Caradoc has been dreading this for days, he's rather anxious to just get this over with, at this point, and he slowly turns around, sighing sadly. "I have a feeling nothing I say in an attempt to explain myself is going to get me out of this mess, so should I just let you rage, or would you rather I actually attempted to defend myself?" he asked sullenly, because Inner!Caradoc is so fucking depressed over Fabian right now it's not even funny. Fuck, I hate writing sad Caradoc, it's practically blasphemous for my favorite happy camper.

Molly arches an eyebrow, her expression turning even frostier if possible. "Are you kidding me? Let's hear it then! I'd, like, totally love to hear the total B.S. you're gonna come out with as to why you think it's ok to go around messing up people's totally happy lives!" she bursts out, voice already rising. Oh, how Molly wishes she had her frying pan right now.

Caradoc crossed his arms and glared down at her stonily, not exactly thrilled with the way Molly was going about this, either. "Who the fuck said I thought it was okay? Do you really think I actually feel good about what I did? Because I don't, Molly, in fact, I feel like utter crap about it, alright? So if you're here to yell about how I don't care, then just leave now, because I know what I did was wrong," he replied coldly, all life seemingly gone from his blue eyes at the moment. "I've tried apologizing already, and I've seen the good it's done, so I'm not going to bother anymore, if that's what you want from me. Now, if you're here to beat me to death with your frying pan, get on with it already."

Molly's hands are on her hips and with the way she's glaring at Rad, you'd think she doesn't even realise he's got several inches on her because she is toe to toe with him by now, and shows no sign of backing down. "OhmyGod! I, like, can't even believe you! Like, seriously, what do you want me to feel bad for you? To cut you some slack because you totally didn't mean to be such an arse? That's the stupidest thing I ever heard! The frying pan is, like, way too good for you, you know," she snaps, working herself into a nice, long rant. "How could you not have known what would happen? Is this fun for you? Seriously, it must be a game - to go around making people develop feelings for you, and then pushing them into admitting it and acting like you care, and then you just walk away? I just really want to know what it is - is it just that you're an arsehole incapable of caring about anyone but himself, or is it that you're too much of a coward and a selfish prick to just man up and deal with it?"

Caradoc merely continued to glower, though if Molly tries to get any closer he's picking her up and putting her down on that really high rock up there, so she can't get down and beat him. "I didn't ask you to feel bad for me, either. Stop putting words into my mouth, Prewett, I'm not asking for you to cut me slack, I'm waiting for you to do or say whatever you plan on doing, so we can both get on with our lives," he said firmly, his hands curling into fists instinctively when she accuses him of cowardice. "I'm a lot of things, an asshole and a selfish prick being two of them, but I am not craven," he replied coldly, before finally softening a little bit in his demeanor. "And no. I didn't know what would happen, because I'm an idiot, alright? And you have every right to be pissed as hell, because fuck, even I'm pissed off at me."
