Sirius stalks over to Kiora, bends down so he's her height, and glares. "That wasn't cool, kid. Eating Uncle Ririus' chocolate. What would you do if next time I didn't bring you any presents, and just kept them for myself? That's right. Next time, I won't be getting you ANY extra hugs, nope, I'll keep them all to myself. Or better. I'll just give all my hugs to your mommy and daddy, 'cause you ate their chocolate too!"

[Kiora Lupin]

Kiora takes one look at glaring uncle Ririus and stares wailing, tears pouring down her face and her tiny fist clenches against the chocolate - snapping the thick chocolate bar because she had inherited her daddy's wolfy strength so she has a strong grip. Dropping the chocolate and Neville the duck, Kiora crawled over to Remus and climbed into his lap, curling up and hiding her face in her daddy's shirt, still wailing loudly.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus facepalms when Kiora starts wailing and has to resist covering his ears. She really was super loud. As Kiora crawls into his lap, Remus glares at Sirius then looks down to pick Kiora up out of his lap, holding her close and rubbing her back softly. "Shh, shh, it's okay, baby girl. Uncle Sirius didn't mean it. It's okay, sweetie."

Sirius facepalms. "This is why I'm never having kids. Can't take a joke," he muttered, grabbing Kiora's chocolate off the floor and biting some of it off. "What? She's not eating it anymore," he said, shrugging.

[Remus Lupin]

"She's a little kid, Sirius, and she has a habit of taking things seriously." Probably inherited that from him and Hermione...ah well. That can be a good thing sometimes.

[Kiora Lupin]

Kiora is still crying and clinging to Remus, refusing to take her face away from his shirt...which is getting quite damp by now.

"What's the fun in being serious? It's far more fun being Sirius," he said, rolling his eyes. "See? It's your fault and Hermione's fault, being so glum and serious all the time. Neither of you ever have enough fun!"

Hermione arches an eyebrow. "Yes, but as your idea of fun is making infants cry, I think I'll stick to seriousness, thanks," she says, then sighs. "Come on, baby girl. Uncle Sirius didn't mean it. "Maybe next time we can share the chocolate with everyone and not just Neville, ok?"

"Sirius didn't mean it," he reiterated, though he's totally pouting at Hermione right now. "I'm not trying to make her cry! She just doesn't share chocolate," he whined, 'cause Sirius is really not much more mature than Kiora, and we all know it.

[Kiora Lupin]

Kiora's crying has quieted slightly and she nods in reply to Hermione against Remus' shoulder, still refusing to look up.

Remus smiles softly at her and pats her back comfortingly before handing her off to Hermione so Kiora can have mommy cuddles too. Plus he really needs to dry his shirt off now.

Hermione wouldn't mind if Remus just took his shirt off completely. JS. She cuddles Kiora close and kisses her forehead. "No reason to cry, baby girl. Uncle Sirius loves you, remember? He just wants chocolate too. It's nice to share, isn't it?"

Kiora nods, and finally looks up at Sirius. She points to the chocolate in his hand. "Woclate Uncle Ririus," she says, giving him her blessing.

"Uncle Sirius loves you very, very, very much, Kiora, don't you ever forget that!" he said, smiling at her, then looking at her in surprise when she allows him some of her chocolate. "Aw, thank you, baby Kiora. That's very nice of you to share, it's a very big girl thing to do," he said, smiling at her brightly and walking over to give her a kiss. "Friends again? We're going to have to be friends, if Uncle Sirius is going to be taking care of you so Daddy and Mommy can have alone time," he said, winking at Remus.

"Fwends!" Kiora nods, agreeing, before deciding that now would be a fun time to play with mummy's hair and tangle it around her tiny fingers.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus likes the idea of alone time. Yep yep. That he does. They better go out and get more strawberries before this alone time happens though.

Hermione hands Kiora over to Sirius for cuddles, so alone time can happen whenever now.
*blinks*

Sirius laughs at Hermione's eagerness, scooping Kiora up into his arms. "How about it, Kiora? Wanna go play outside with Uncle Ririus, so mommy and daddy can... oh, ewness. Whatever. HOW ABOUT WE GO PLAY! I love playing! We can run around and play catch, or fetch, or chase squirrels-- JUST KIDDING HERMIONE, YUP."

[Kiora Lupin]

"Ducks? Quack quack?" Kiora has no idea what's going on, but if she gets to visit the ducks then that's good enough for her.

[Guest]

"You want me to take you to the park to see ducks, Kiora? That we can do," he said, offering her a smile and tickling her tummy. "You really do like those ducks, don't you. How about it, little girl?"

[Kiora Lupin]

Kiora squeals, giggling as Sirius tickles her tummy. "QUACK QUACK QUACK! DUCKY! IKTA LIKE DUCKIES TOO! RIRIUS LIKE DUCKY?" she stares wide eyed at him. "LET'S GO!"

Hermione dies of adorable and waves them off.

Sirius runs off to the duck pond thread wishing his bro were online, yup, carrying cute Kiora.

La la la *dances in and posts*

So yeah, Kiora's birthday was on the 18th woooo, but Amethyst is lame and couldn't really get on to do stuff for it till now so we're doing this now. Yep yep. And Remus is not very good at decorating so he's going to leave the party decorations to Hermione. Which is all the more better cause that means he gets the lovely job of keeping Kiora entertained outside while everything is getting prepared inside. Kiora isn't stupid though - considering she got her smarts from her two rather smart parents - and she can figure something is going on, especially once uncle Dean and uncle Sirius show up and a few other of their friends. There's no questioning going on though because daddy just gave her a huge stuffed duck to play with and it's almost bigger than she is and she is quite happy. Until uncle Sirius tries to take it and pretend to make it swim on the little pond. Then she gets rather upset and Remus shoots uncle Sirius and warning glare letting him know that if he makes Kiora upset on her birthday it won't be good for Sirius.

And since Hermione (and thankfully Kiora) does not really like pink, there isn't a whole lot of pink decorations to deal with. Wooooooooo!




And of course Kiora gets to be princess for the day -


So now that everything is all set up Hermione open the back door and calls everyone inside because she can't wait any longer to see the look on Kiora's face!

And just because he can, and because Kiora insisted upon it, Remus carries her inside, perched atop his shoulders. Which was kind of terrifying for him but she insisted upon it and he couldn't say no to her. As long as he held onto her tightly then it would be alright. Once they were all inside he got her down and she squealed as she saw all the decorations. "DUCKY! QUACK!" she pointed to the cupcakes, flailing her tiny arms about and giggling happily. Remus went over and kissed Hermione quickly. "You did a great job, love. Everything looks perfect."

Hermione smiles brightly at Kiora's obvious delight and kisses Remus back. "Thanks, baby. It was no trouble," she says, because it was fun and a labour of love. She waves her wand and refreshments appear, covering the tables. "Help yourself, everyone," she calls, and," picks up a chocolate cookie from the pile to pass down to Kiora. "Once everybody has had something to eat and drink you can open your presents and say thank-you to everyone for coming," she tells her. "And then we can have cake!" Hermione may or may not have deliberately chosen cupcakes to go with the big duck cake because she knows Remus would flip if Kiora was anywhere near a knife to cut the cake. Mmhmm.
