Re: Parkinson Home
Draco tightened his fingers around hers as she drifted off, his fingers still playing with her curls. He couldn't imagine going back to his house, at least her parents did it out of love and concern for her future, or at least Leo did, who knew Muffy's motives. As she fell asleep so did he, his fingers not leaving hers all night, his other hand resting on her shoulder, half holding the blanket in place.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy had a dreamless sleep, but it was far from peaceful. She floated in and out of consciousness far more than she had hoped, and all in all it wasn't a very restful night. She woke early but stayed where she was, looking up to see that Draco's eyes were still shut, his lips parted slightly as he breathed. She kept very still, a small smile reaching her lips as she realized he was still holding her hand, his other hand on her shoulder keeping her warmly covered. She tried to go back to sleep, but to no avail, and so she just laid there in his warmth, the minutes slipping past incomprehensibly.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco woke up slowly the next morning, his fingers instinctively tightening around hers as he blinked a little, conscious of her resting on his and making sure not to move. He yawned, his head raising a little to look at her. He noticed her breathing wasn't as deep as it was when she was asleep and he brushed his fingers over her shoulder, "Pans, you awake?"
Re: Parkinson Home
She didn't move when she felt him wake up, in case he decided to go back to sleep, but when he spoke she nodded slightly, her voice very soft. "Yeah." Turning her head up to look at him again, she tightened her fingers on his, never really wanting to let go of him. Whether physically or some other less corporeal way, Pansy knew she'd never truly let go of him. She blinked and wished she could have fallen asleep again, but she was fully awake by now as strange as that idea was. Awake or not, she was still exhausted, tired both physically and mentally, and would like nothing better than to rest in his arms a bit longer.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco gave her a little smile but didn't make her move, pulling the blankets up a little and wrapping them a little better around her before that hand moved to brush over her cheek. "You didn't sleep well did you?" She looked just as tired as she had the night before and just as sad. He gave her a sad pout, wishing he could do something to fix it all but knowing that the best thing he could do right now was hold her and remind her that he was here then take her back to Hogwarts and away from all of this.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy pouted back at him. "No." Squirming up a little to readjust where she had slipped down during the night, she laid on her stomach against his chest, wrapping the hand that he wasn't holding around his side, staring off into the distance at nothing in particular. Everything was piling up on her, and she couldn't quite deal with it. This being their last year of Hogwarts, the impending marriages their parents would arrange for them, the more immediate worries of Draco and the Death Eaters, and the complications that arose with the two of them dating and growing closer by the day. So much was changing and she wasn't quite sure what to do about it.
Re: Parkinson Home
And he wished he could take all of that away from her, make it all better and easier for her but instead all he can do is be there for her when he gets the chance and when he's taken away let her know that he's still protecting and supporting her. His hand moved again to stroke through her hair as she shifted up and wrapped an arm around him, "I'm sorry. Well I guess after we've seen your parents we can head back to school, maybe have a quiet afternoon, dinner in Hogsmeade?"
Re: Parkinson Home
"We don't even have to see them. We could just go. I don't want to deal with them and maybe I'll regret it later but I don't care right now. I just want to get away and Hogsmeade sounds lovely." She held onto him, her heart aching for him as she thought about all that his parents put him through. Here she was with a slightly rough weekend, and yet he never really had a nice time at home ever, at least not recently. Her grip on him tightened as she thought about it, and again she found herself wishing she could just run away and bring him with her, somewhere no one could find them.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco smiled and shifted a little under her, wanting to get up and leave but not wanting to move. "That sounds perfect then, let's just go. You can leave them a note with the elves or something." He wrapped his free arm around her properly and hugged her back, glad that they got to get out of there sooner rather than later.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy shook her head, sitting up a little. "No, I don't care enough to leave a note. Let's just go." She reluctantly sat up between his legs, calling up a house elf and instructing it to gather their things and bring them here. Once it had done so, she stood up and slipped her hand into Draco's. It didn't matter that she was still in pajamas. She just wanted to leave. She stood there a little helplessly, simply waiting for him to get them back home. It didn't occur to her at the time that she'd referred to Hogwarts as her 'home' in her mind, despite the fact that she was now standing in the place that had been 'home' for her entire life.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco got up when she did and pulled his wand to transfigure their clothing into jeans and tshirts with a sweater for him and an extra warm hoodie for her. "Whatever you want." When the elves dropped their stuff off he shrank the bags and slipped them into his pocket before wrapping his arms around her and apparating her out of the room and into Hogsmeade where you can now post. Actually imma email you.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy apparated here, her hand in Draco's though she let go once they had landed out front. She had a small bag over her shoulder of some school things and the like, but instead of going up to the front door like they usually did, she gave Draco a pointed glance and hurried around the side of her house, sneaking toward the back door. She pushed it open and snuck inside as quickly and quietly as she could, 'shh'ing the house elf who saw her come in. She told it to not let her mother know she was home, that she wanted quality time with daddy this weekend, and the little elf understood. Pansy grabbed Draco's hand again, weaving through the lower level of her home the back way and heading to the dark staircase that would lead down to the sub-level where Leo's study was, along with a few other small rooms and lots of damp empty space. She knocked once on the door to her father's study before pushing the door open, tugging Draco inside behind her and closing the door back. "Hi, Daddy."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco followed Pansy into the kitchen and down the stairs, feeling rather like they were on some sort of secret spy mission. He slipped through the door behind her and clicked it shut behind him. He'd only been in here once before and that was years ago, he didn't even remember why now. He nodded at Leo who was sitting behind his desk, "Hello Sir," consciously aware of Pansy's hand still in his. Then again Leo knew about them and if she wasn't going to pull away he wouldn't either.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy hadn't been paying attention to the fact that their hands were still together, but she let go as she wandered further into the study. Her father looked up from his desk and smiled with surprise at her. "Pansy, I didn't know you were coming home." She shrugged and walked up to his desk, glancing at all the books on it. "Well, Draco said a while ago that you wanted to see me sometime, so I figured I'd come home one weekend and hide from Mum down here." She grinned at him, sinking into a soft leather chair beside his desk. "Flower, that was nearly two months ago. What kept you?" She just shrugged, not caring to explain all the dramas between she and Draco to him. "School, I suppose. Mum out shopping as usual? I figured she would be, so sneaking in wasn't too hard. Dilly saw me, but knows how to keep a good secret." Leo laughed and turned to Draco, giving him a nod as well. "Good to see you passed on my message and tagged along. It's nice to have someone travel with her. Just in case."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco walked in a little after Pansy and sat down in the chair next to her, "It's not a problem, it's always nice to get away from school. How have you been?" He noticed a familiar scrawl on the back of a piece of parchment, it was his father's writing in the same royal blue ink that he always addressed his letters with. Part of Draco was curious what his father was writing to Leo about but another part of him had no interest in knowing at all, assuming it was to do with death eater activities that he would prefer to avoid as long as he was in school.
Re: Parkinson Home
"Very well, very well." Leo nodded, stacking a few papers and putting the stopper in his inkwell, which was full of simple black ink, though it wasn't so simple once dry. It stayed shiny and a bit three-dimensional, raised up off the paper a little. "Anything interesting been going on at home?" Pansy asked him, laughing when he groaned. "Your mother's driving me a bit crazy, but there's nothing new with that. Send her off with a few galleons a day and it at least keeps her out of my hair until dinner time. Otherwise, I'd get nothing done." He smiled at both Pansy and Draco. "So are you two planning on hiding all weekend? We could make some arrangements down here. Besides, I'd rather enjoy keeping you both to myself for a weekend instead of having the woman steal you away and try and dress you up."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco chuckled when Leo said he could get rid of Muffy with a few galleons, he knew the same trick worked on most pureblood women. Or they learnt their place like his own mother and just stayed quiet and out of the way. When asked whether they were going to hide all weekend he glanced at Pansy and smiled back at Leo, "I think we would prefer this if we could stay down here, avoiding Muffy always seems like the best plan." He relaxed into the large comfy chair, the warmth of the fire a nice complement to the chill and dampness of the basement study room.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy grinned, and her father grinned back at her, and it was instantly obvious where she got that mischievous look from. "Sounds like a fun weekend, huh?" Leo laughed, a deep warm sound that Pansy loved. "We'll sneak you two some dinner down here and figure out somewhere to sleep, and your mother will never even know you've been here." He stood up, putting several things away into drawers and out of sight before he circled around to the other side of his desk and toward the door. "Speaking of, I'll go tell Dilly to get dinner started, and to make a little extra secretly for you two down here." He winked at Pansy before disappearing through the door, shutting it behind him. "Well, this should be fun, hiding down here in his study all weekend. I haven't stayed a whole weekend down here since I was a kid."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco laughed and thanked Leo as he left to go make sure they could get food. Looking around he noticed all the comfortable dark furniture, "A weekend down here will be great, and maybe at night we can sneak out into the gardens." He smiled and relaxed further into the chair, stretching out his legs and crossing his ankles. "And if you wanted you could spend the whole weekend in sweatpants now, I don't think your father would even notice."
Re: Parkinson Home
"Probably not, except for the fact that the only sweatpants I really like wearing are yours and I'm not quite sure how he would feel about that." Pansy shrugged lightly. "Sneaking out is definitely a possibility though. And we can use the practice room too. I haven't had a good duel in ages, I'm afraid I've lost all the ability that I worked so damn hard for this year. That would be exceptionally unfortunate." She shook her head sadly, as if it really were a terrible situation should she not be as good now as she was a few months ago. "Some stupid blonde boy distracted me from practicing as much as I used to," she added with a grin.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco rolled his eyes and laughed, "Quel dommage ma cherie. Whenever you want to practice let me know. And please don't let your father know you own all my old sweats, I don't really want to die. Though I'd like to think he's rather fond of me at this point." He stood up and walked over to a little table that had some glasses and a flask of water on it, "Want some?"
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy sighed and glared at him. "You know I don't speak French so I have no idea what you just said." She got up and walked over to the little table he was standing at. "Yes, please. And he probably likes you well enough, but you are, after all, the boy dating his little girl." She took the glass from him, taking a sip and looking at him over the lip of it. "Protective instincts and all, he won't let you get too close, and I think me in your clothes is a little too much like claiming me for Daddy's tolerance. I'll be wearing my own pants this weekend, I think."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco smiled and picked up another glass, pouring one for himself. "Well you should just learn then shouldn't you? And I guess maybe your own clothing would be a good plan, though I do like seeing you in my pants." He grinned and brushed his hand over her shoulder while wandered over to the bookshelves to browse and see what secret things Leo kept down here as opposed to the library. There were some books on dark materials but his eyes were drawn to a potions text that he slipped off the shelf.
Re: Parkinson Home
"I don't have time for silly French, Draco. And I don't see a point in it since I live in a place where they speak English." She shrugged, because Pansy does not care to learn another language when she could just learn more dueling or astronomy instead. She bit her lip and playfully grinned up at him when he said he liked her in his pants, oh I bet Draco likes Pansy in his pants. Drinking the rest of her water, she put the glass down on the corner of her father's desk, following Draco to the bookshelf and putting her hand on his arm. "Oh, I would ask first, um, if I were you." She gave him a significant look before continuing. "I know you're his understudy or protege or whatever, but he's very protective of his books. Especially the ones he keeps in here. I've never touched them unless he's handed them to me."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco lifted his hand off the book and stepped back slightly, "Right, duly noted. I'll just have to ask him about it later, I don't recognize the title but that author is one of the foremost experts in mind-altering draughts." He kept looking along the shelf, careful to keep his hands away from the shelf, one arm moving to wrap around Pansy's waist, leaning against her slightly as he admired Leo's collection. He knew his father has special books in his study but he never spent any time in there if he could help it.
